Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Felss Masino is stepping down after the company’s controversial rebrand sparked backlash from longtime customers. The overhaul removed the iconic Uncle Herschel mascot and many of the nostalgic decorations that had defined the chain for decades.
After widespread criticism, Cracker Barrel reversed course and embraced its traditional identity. The company says former Bloomin’ Brands CEO David Deno, whose company owns Outback Steakhouse, will take over as CEO on August 10.
