Florida State Board of Immigration Enforcement Announces Completion of Immigration

Enforcement Operations in Palm Beach County

 

Federal, state, and local law enforcement arrested 309 suspects in 36 operational hours

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.– The Florida State Board of Immigration (SBIE) announces

the completion of directed enforcement operations under the 287(g) program administered by the

United States Department of Homeland Security. Immigration enforcement operations occurred

between July 6 -10 throughout Palm Beach County. A total of 309 subjects were arrested for

immigration violations.

 

The following law enforcement agencies participated in this federally led and state coordinated

effort: Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – Enforcement and Removal Operations

(ERO), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), United States Border Patrol (USBP) Customs

and Border Protection (CBP), Florida Highway Patrol’s (FHP) Criminal Alien Apprehension

Team, and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).

 

ICE, USBP, FHP, and PBSO were provided logistical and operational support by the Florida

National Guard and the Florida State Guard. In total, more than 100 federal, state, and county

personnel participated in the enforcement effort. The enforcement effort was coordinated by

SBIE Executive Director Anthony Coker.

 

“Under Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida has perfected a national model on how to implement

and execute on 287(g) immigration enforcement efforts,” said SBIE Executive Director

Anthony Coker. “The operation that just concluded in Palm Beach County demonstrates just

how effective 287(g) agreements can be when federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies

join together to leverage their unique skillsets and resources and direct them at combating illegal

immigration.”

 

“Our nation and the State of Florida is safer when law enforcement partners work together to

remove criminals from our local communities,” said USBP Chief Jeffrey Dinise. “This

operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment from our Florida State law enforcement

partners.”

 

“This operation demonstrates how effective law enforcement can be when agencies work

together,” said FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass. “Shared information, clear communication,

and teamwork deliver safe, reliable results for the people of Florida.”

 

The following are examples of individuals arrested during the operation:

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has a criminal history that

includes ''driving under the influence (DUI) and driving without a valid driver’s license.'' The

alien also had an active failure-to-appear warrant issued by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s

Office.

 

• An alien who was previously removed from the United States twice (2017 and 2018),

''illegally re-entering following both removals.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has a criminal history that

includes ''DUI, battery, and hit-and-run.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and was identified with a

confirmed TECS B10 record, classified as ''a Known or Suspected Terrorist (KST), and''

''identified as a possible Tren de Aragua (TdA) member.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has a criminal history that

includes ''narcotics possession and drug trafficking.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has a criminal history that

includes ''DUI and alcohol-related offenses.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has a criminal history that

includes ''alcohol-related offenses. The alien also had an active probation violation warrant''

''issued by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has ''a criminal history that''

''includes battery and failure to appear.''

 

• An alien who entered the United States without inspection and has ''a criminal history that''

''includes domestic violence.''

 

• An alien who illegally re-entered the United States four times and has prior convictions for

''two counts of DUI, hit-and-run, illegal re-entry, burglary, and fraud.'' During the operation,

the alien fled from ICE ERO officers, barricaded himself inside a business, and later

surrendered.

 

• An alien who illegally re-entered the United States and has prior convictions for burglary and

theft, with additional criminal history ''including burglary and fraud.''
