This is just not true, not today, not yesterday, not 10 years ago, not 25 years ago. The truth is, is that no one helps out, whether out of their own cognitive initiative, nor if some implies that they need help, nor even if they are explicit and give the details of horrific burdens and iterate extreme injustices endured over great lengths of time, they do not answer the call, but will instead give you lip service about their attentiveness and intent, as they glorify their preparedness, altruism, and heroism. This is why we got into this current state of affairs, because no one stood up for the truth, nor responded to stop the calamities, nor hearkened to any calls, thus allowing our world to become a place of cabal cronies and sympathizers with depraved indifference towards life. Everything is a major battle now because it was allowed to fester, take hold of the land and people, and set up strong roots that can easily create offshoots. Even small efforts can result in big changes, but those efforts have to be terminal in nature, or else we just put off justice till another day, to be rehashed all over, as new threats spawn.
