During the public comment portion, Claridge applauded speakers opposing the project, despite repeated warnings from commissioners prohibiting clapping, snapping, or other disruptive behavior. After continuing to clap following a final warning, police removed Claridge from the chamber, handcuffed them, and charged them with disorderly conduct and interference with law enforcement. Claridge was later released on bond
