Iran’s policy is to ensure that the Strait of Hormuz never returns to its pre-war status, he added.

Iran’s defense production lines are “more active than before” and its military technologies are “more advanced,” acting Defense Minister Majid Ebn al-Reza said Tuesday, according to Iranian media.

 

He said those who expected strikes on strategic defense sites to halt Iran’s military industry were now facing a different reality, adding that Iranian specialists and scientists were more determined to build the country’s defense capabilities.

 

 

(7)Amnesty urges world to take urgent action as Iran steps up protest executions

 

The public execution of two protesters early Tuesday, following theexecution of at least three others last week, marks an escalation in Iran’s use of the death penalty to suppress dissent, Amnesty International said in a statement.

 

The organization warned that at least 60 others,including three people who were children when arrested, remain at risk of execution.

 

Heba Morayef, Amnesty’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, said Iranian authorities were using a wave of executions and death sentences to punish dissent and project strength following the January 2026 protests.

 

She called on UN member states to take urgent, coordinated diplomatic action to halt the executions and hold Iranian authorities accountable.

 

Amnesty said Iran has executed at least 26 people since the start of 2026 in connection with the January protests and 26 others on political charges.

 

 

(8)Iran indicts Trump over Khamenei killing on charges carrying death penalty

 

Tehran Prosecutor Ali Salehi said Tuesday that an indictment had been issued against US President Donald Trump over the killing of Ali Khamenei, IRGC-affiliated Fars News reported.

 

The charges include “corruption on earth,” murder, destruction, intentional assault and “terrorist acts.” Under Iranian law, “corruption on earth” and murder can carry the death penalty.

 

Speaking at a press conference, Salehi said indictments had beencompleted in 140 cases linked to the war, including 74 involving the US government and Trump and 23 involving Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Jordanian Armed Forces intercepted 70 ballistic missiles and 25 explosive-laden drones launched from Iran between July 9 and July 25, official state news agency Petra reported on Tuesday.

 

Jordanian air defenses and royal air force jets neutralized the incoming airborne threats away from populated areas, preventing casualties or damage to critical infrastructure. The military reiterated that it will not allow the kingdom's airspace or territory to become a battleground for regional conflict.

 

 

(10)Amnesty warns Iran escalating executions to crush dissent

 

Iranian authoritiesare intensifying their use of executions and death sentences to punish protesters and suppress dissent, Amnesty International said following the public hanging of two protesters on Tuesday.

 

The rights group saidat least 26 people convicted of offenses linked to the January 2026 protests have been executedsince the beginning of the year following what it described as torture-tainted and grossly unfair trials.

 

At least 60 others, including three people arrested for alleged offenses committed as children, remain at risk of execution, Amnesty said. Many more are facing prosecution on charges that can carry the death penalty.

 

“The Iranian authorities are unleashing a horrifying wave of executions and death sentences to punish and suppress dissent and project an image of strength and absolute control,” said Heba Morayef, Amnesty’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa.

 

Amnesty said defendants had been convicted using broadly worded charges such as “enmity against God,” “corruption on earth,” espionage and collaboration with hostile states. It documented cases involving forced confessions, enforced disappearance, torture, denial of access to lawyers and closed Revolutionary Court proceedings.

 

The organization called on UN member states to press Tehran to halt further executions, support an independent international justice mechanism for Iran and urge the UN Security Council to refer the country’s human rights situation to the International Criminal Court.

(11)US and UAE partner to launch military AI task force

 

US Central Command announced anagreement with the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday to launch the first joint military artificial intelligence task force, named Task Force Talon Synapse.

 

The Abu Dhabi-basedteam will include about 20 American and Emirati experts in AI, data, and cybersecurity. The group plans to formally launch in the coming weeks.

 

"This will be a historic milestone as we work with one of our most capable regional partners to rapidly deliver evolving AI advancements to our warfighters," said Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM.

 

The team will focus on using AI for intelligence support, protecting key infrastructure, and monitoring regional security. Cooper and UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan first discussed the initiative last year before CENTCOM met with UAE defense officials and industry leaders in June.

 

(12)Iran warns it will block Strait of Hormuz to firms taking frozen assets

 

Iran's armed forces will block any company or country from passing through the Strait of Hormuz if they accept money from frozen Iranian assets, a military spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.

 

The warning from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters follows plans by US President Donald Trump to compensate damaged shipping vessels using seized Iranian funds.

 

"We warn the criminal president of the US regarding the consequences of this illegal action," the military command spokesperson said. "The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer allow any of their vessels to navigate through the Strait of Hormuz."

 

The statement said the US caused regional instability and directed ships along unsafe routes through the southern Strait of Hormuz during recent conflict, leading to vessel damage.

US President Donald Trump said he would like to avoid attacking Iran's power plants and bridges, while saying Washington held a "very strong position" with Tehran.

 

"I would like to avoid attacking power plants, bridges," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

 

"We have a very strong position with Iran now," he said.

 

Asked if he was looking to target such infrastructure, Trump replied: "I'm not looking to do that."

 

Trump also said Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site was "not a big problem."

 

He added: "We cannot have Iran break deals anymore."
