Zohran Mamdani Reportedly Furious After Being Snubbed From Speaking at Funeral for Fallen NYC Soldier

by Mike LaChance Jul. 31, 2026 1

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently attended the funeral of a fallen soldier from the city but was not invited to speak, which reportedly made him very angry.

According to the story, Mamdani had prepared remarks and was fully expecting to be called to the podium but it never happened.

Apparently, the family of the soldier is a little more conservative than people realized and did not want the mayor’s politics to become part of the event. Who can blame them?

The New York Post reports:

Fuming Mamdani blocked from speaking at fallen NYC soldier’s funeral despite writing speech: ‘He was never called’

Mayor Zohran Mamdani was snubbed from eulogizing Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad at the fallen soldier’s Queens funeral Friday —and the embarrassing scene unfolded in real time as he fumed while waiting in vain to give his speech, sources revealed.

Mamdani, who was relegated to the fourth row in the Ozone Park church, appeared to be reviewing his planned remarks on an iPadwhile Gov. Kathy Hochul and other dignitaries, including Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, were called to speak, a source in attendance said.

“They kept calling names and then he was never called,” the source said.

“Then he looked over at his staff, frustrated and seemed angry that he didn’t speak. When he realized his name wasn’t being called, he looked at his staff angrily and then eventually put his tablet away.”…

The diss came as Mamdani — an avowed democratic socialist who’s harshly critical of Israel and the US war against Iran — remains a divisive political figure both within New York City and across the nation.

Another source involved with the funeral’s planning said Rampersad’s family is pro-President Trump and didn’t want Mamdani to speak.

Yet another insider confirmed that Mamdani’s outspoken lefty politics ultimately led him to lose his customary mayoral role as a speaker during a hometown soldier’s funeral.

This is certainly not the kind of treatment he is used to, is it?

For months now, a battle has been raging between Trump’s FCC and ABC News/Disney, the owners of the daytime talk show ‘The View.’

ABC News claims that ‘The View’ is a legitimate news show, a claim that is preposterous at best, while the FCC argues that it’s not a news show.

The argument is important because the decision ultimately governs what the show is and is not allowed to do.

In a way, it’s amazing that this debate is even taking place. The View is easily the most anti-Trump and anti-Republican show on network television.

Anyone who watches the show even once knows this if they possess average intelligence.

Now, Trump’s FCC chief Brendan Carr has posted a video to Twitter/Xwhich shows the hosts of The View basically campaigning for the Democrats.

Breitbart News reports:

Federal Communications chief Brendan Carr posted a montage video to social media of some ofABC daytime talk show The View’smost biased, left-wing chatter and electioneering for Democrats as the agency considers whether the show has broken federal equal time rules.

Carr posted the video on Thursday and wrote that, “Disney is arguing to the FCC that its ABC show The View is a ‘bona fide news program.’”

“Disney claims that its decisions are based on “newsworthiness”—rather than partisan purposes—and thus exempt from political equal time rules,” he added to the video post.

“The FCC will make its decision based on all relevant evidence and precedents,” he concluded on his July 30 X post.

The video shows various members of The View’s panel advocating exclusively for the Democrat Party and denigrating Republicans.

Still, in other comments Carr also said that he does not view the FCC as the “speech police.”

Appearing recently on The Conversation podcast, hosted by POLITICO’s Dasha Burns, Carr said that his job is to apply the laws Congress has passed.

Total Fraud: Adam Schiff Demands AI Political Parodies Be Banned, Forgets He Lied About Trump and Called It Parody in 2019The Western Journal Jul. 31, 2026

A politician who’s built his career on lies is suddenly worried about truth in advertising?

California Sen. Adam Schiff, a man with a documented record of deception, has introduced two bills aimed at regulating political speech in election campaigns — including one that would add prohibitions on content generated by artificial intelligence to a law that already prohibits campaigns from impersonating their opponents.

Maybe Schiff has forgotten his own past when it comes to impersonations — and the lies behind his attacks on President Donald Trump.

In a career of lowlights that would make a masochist blush, Schiff achieved one of his most notorious moments during the 2019 hearings that led up to Trump’s first impeachment, when the then-California congressman fabricated quotes from a phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodomyr Zelenskyy.

Schiff then defended playing fast and loose with the truth by claiming he was engaging in “parody.”

Well, reasonable people can disagree about whether Schiff was engaging in political “parody” or sinking to the belly-crawling tactics of a lying coward to further the cause of assassinating Trump’s character. (The vote here is “belly crawling,” just for the record. Schiff’s record is so crooked even his mortgage reeks of fraud.)

But there’s no question that Schiff’s motivation for filing the bill comes from the campaigns that led up to California’s primary elections in June.

As the San Francisco Chronicle noted in its coverage of Schiff’s bills, Spencer Pratt, the insurgent candidate challenging Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, made effective use of “brazen AI videos to disparage his opponent in his bid to become mayor of Los Angeles.”

“Pratt, a former reality TV star, relied on AI videos made by his supporters in his run for office,” the Chronicle reported. “One depicted Mayor Karen Bass as the Joker and Pratt as Batman, fighting crime. Another used AI-generated women discussing why they would vote for Pratt after a Pilates class.”

Schiff’s other bill, a campaign regulation bill, would force campaigns to disclose payments made to social media influencers for positive portrayals. Current federal law requires influencers to disclose the payments, but does not require the campaigns to make any public declaration themselves.

According to the Chronicle, that was driven by billionaire Tom Steyer’s use of social media influencers in his unsuccessful campaign for California governor.

The irony of the loathsome Schiff manufacturing a stand for honesty in politics would be laughable if it wasn’t so infuriating.

Schiff is the politician whose duplicity became a byword on Capitol Hill during the first Trump presidency.

He’s the man who swore to Americans that proof of the Democratic hysteria of “Russian collusion” was in “plain sight” — before years of investigation and tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money were wasted on finding out that there was no there there.

He’s a man, in short, who has played the dirtiest kinds of political games in the dirtiest ways there are to play it in his time in Congress.

It’s the kind of behavior that got him kicked off the House Intelligence Committee he once chaired. (Fellow Democratic reprobate Eric Swalwell got the boot from the committee, too.) But it’s exactly the kind of behavior that convinced California Democrats to promote him to the Senate.

But give former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi credit as a talent spotter — she knew an amoral, conniving low-life like Schiff was exactly the kind of person she needed on the committee that “investigated” the Capitol incursion of Jan. 6, 2021, and wove a tapestry of half-truths and lies about that date thick enough to cover up her own considerable role in the events.

(She also hand-picked former Republican Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for the same committee. The devil looks after his own, as the saying goes.)

And this selfsame Adam Schiff is suddenly aflame with the ardor of honesty — consumed with agony at the prospect that American voters could be subjected to artificial intelligence ads doing exactly what Adam Schiff himself did in the flesh before the House of Representatives — lying about a political opponent by putting words into his mouth that he never once said.

Whatever it is that Schiff is really afraid of when it comes to AI in ads, it’s a rock-solid bet that it isn’t because he’s afraid they’re going to be dishonest.

Few men in American politics have ever been bigger strangers to the truth.

RINO Indiana Senate Leader Rodric Bray to Step Down After Thwarting Trump-Backed Redistricting Plan

by Ben Kew Jul. 31, 2026 7:20 pm

Indiana’s RINO Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray announced Friday that he will not seek another term as the chamber’s leader.

Bray, who has represented Martinsville in the Indiana Senate since 2012 and served as Senate leader since 2018,said he will step aside when Republicans elect a new leader in November.

He will remain in the Senate through the end of his current term in 2028.

His decision comes months afterBray joined 20 other Republican senators and 10 Democrats in voting down a Trump-backed mid-decade congressional redistricting proposal.

The plan would have redrawn Indiana’s congressional map ahead of the 2026 elections and was expected to give Republicans an advantage in all nine congressional districts.

The vote understandably sparked a fierce backlash from conservatives and President Trump.

More than $13 million was spent during the 2026 Republican primaries backing challengers to senators who voted against the redistricting proposal.

According to a statement from Bray’s office, the prospect of additional primary challenges against senators who supported his continued leadership played a major role in his decision to step aside.

“He has determined he will not put members in jeopardy from their own party simply because he is asking members to support his reelection as Pro Tem,” the statement said.

Bray said he would continue serving as Senate leader until a successor is chosen and will remain a member of the chamber.

In his statement, Bray pointed to his supposed accomplishments during his eight years as a leader.

“Serving as the President Pro Tem of the Senate for eight years has been among the most significant honors of my life, but it’s time for the Senate to choose another leader,” Bray said.

“Our caucus has led the way in numerous policy areas, passing laws that resulted in more than 20 tax cuts, initiatives to lower the cost of health care, laws that resulted in a sharp increase in literacy rates in our schools, and measures that ushered in record capital investment through 2024.”

Trump, meanwhile, celebrated his impending departure in a post on Truth Social.

I am pleased to announce that the man who so foolishly led the Indiana State Senate, with almost every Candidate losing their Race, many of them in Office for years, will not be seeking Re-Election as Senate President because he wouldn’t have had a chance to be elected — Better yet would be if he would resign from Office, completely, but he will be met by us at the Indiana Polls.

“Rodric Bray should be ashamed of himself for costing our Country, mainly the Republican Party, two U.S. House Seats, and for costing all of his colleagues who went along with him, an Election loss! Isn’t it amazing how Politics works?”

Zelensky’s troop death toll moves backward

The Ukrainian leader has presented a new estimate that is lower than his own assessment from six months ago

Published 1 Aug, 2026 04:

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has claimed that the nation’s military has lost “about 50,000” soldiers since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, a figure 5,000 lower than the estimate he offered six months ago.

The Ukrainian leader made the assessment in an interview with Fox News recorded during his visit to Washington this week. When asked about battlefield losses in the fighting with Russia, he initially said it was “very difficult to say,” arguing that he did not want to be “very open about it,” supposedly to avoid revealing the true state of the Ukrainian army to Moscow.

He eventually claimed that Ukraine has suffered “about 50,000 soldiers killed and… about 400,000 wounded,”as well as “a huge number” of troops who simply “disappeared.”

The figure appears to contradict a statement Zelensky made in February, when he told France 2 that Ukraine had lost 55,000 soldiers. In February 2025, he told NBC that around 46,000 Ukrainian servicemen had been killed, while claiming that Russian losses were 14 times higher.

The Ukrainian military has been suffering from chronic manpower shortages amid mounting casualties, widespread draft evasion, and desertion. The latest publicly available official data showed that nearly 290,000 desertion cases had been recorded in Ukraine between 2022 and the autumn of 2025.

According to Moscow, Kiev is losing tens of thousands of soldiers each month on the front lines. Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousovestimated in December that nearly 500,000 Ukrainian servicemen had been killed or wounded in 2025 alone. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also suggested that total Ukrainian military casualties, including those killed, wounded, missing and captured, have already exceeded 1 million.

President Vladimir Putin estimated last month that the Ukrainian military could be losing up to 40,000 soldiers a month through deaths and injuries, adding that Kiev was able to replenish its ranks with only about 30,000 recruits through its increasingly violent forced-mobilization campaign.

Zelensky came to Washington on an unofficial visit under the pretext of attending the funeral of one of Kiev’s fiercest supporters, Senator Lindsey Graham. He met President Donald Trump behind closed doors on Tuesday to press him on his pledge to allow Ukraine to manufacture Patriot missiles.

Zelensky also reportedly tried to persuade Trump to call in a major favor from tech entrepreneur Elon Musk by asking him to allow Ukraine to use Starlink for strikes deep inside Russia.Musk himself refused to meet the Ukrainian leader, according to The Atlantic.

US can take ‘whatever we want’ from Ukraine – Trump

Washington holds preferential access to the country’s rare earth wealth under a 2025 pact

Published 1 Aug, 2026 07:52 | Updated

The US can take “pretty much whatever we want” from Ukraine’s rare earth deposits under a minerals agreement signed last year, President Donald Trump has said, adding that profits from the agreement could ultimately exceed total American aid to Kiev since 2022.

Trump made the remarks in an interview with Real America’s Voice aired on Friday as hechastised his predecessor Joe Biden for “giving away” a purported $300 billion in military support to Ukraine without securing repayment.

“He could have Europe… paid for it. All you had to do is ask,” Trump said, adding that under his administration European nations now cover more of the costs.

Trump said Ukraine has “very rich, very fertile soil in terms of rare earth.”“We have a contract signed [with Ukraine] having to do with rare earth. We can go in there at any time we want and take pretty much whatever we want. That was a pretty good deal,” he said.

The US president was referring to a rare earth deal signed in Washington in April 2025, which established the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund. The deal grants Washington preferential access to new Ukrainian mineral, oil, and gas projects, with emphasis on elements such as lithium, titanium, graphite, and uranium. Ukraine retains formal ownership of its resources and receives 50% of profits from new extraction projects.

Trump has portrayed the deal as a way to pay for US military aid to Kiev. While he has claimed it amounted to more than $300 billion, the figure is widely disputed, with the US Special Inspector General for Operation Atlantic Resolve estimating it at $195 billion in total appropriations.

While legally the minerals deal is up and running, with more than a dozen projects currently under review, it remains hamstrung by conflict-related risks, Ukraine’s notorious corruption, inadequate geological data, and risks of power outages, as well as other infrastructure shortfalls.

The deal itself was signed after months of strained negotiations, including a televised Oval Office clash in February 2025 between Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, during which the US president accused the Ukrainian leader of ingratitude and “gambling with World War III.”

After the signing of the agreement, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev remarked that “Trump has broken the Kiev regime to the point where they will have to pay for US aid with mineral resources, adding that “now they will have to pay for military supplies with the national wealth of a disappearing country.”

Netanyahu accuses NYC Mayor Mamdani of backing Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah

The official previously pushed for the arrest of the Israeli prime minister for Gaza “war crimes”

Published 31 Jul, 2026 10:27 |

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has renewed his criticism of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has said the Israeli leader could be arrested on war-crimes charges if he visits the city.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in 2024 over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Mamdani has said his administration would seek to enforce the warrant if presented with an opportunity to do so.

Speaking to Fox News host Sean Hannity this week, Netanyahu accused the mayor of siding with Iran, which he described as a mortal enemy of both Israel and the United States.

“The army of Israel, the young men and women of Israel, the public in Israel… stand up and say, ‘Yes, we’re willing to stand up at this moment and stand in the breach with the United States.’ This is the ally that Mamdani and his ilk are vilifying,”Netanyahu said.

And what is he supporting? Iran. Who is he supporting? Hamas. Who is he supporting? Hezbollah,” he added, accusing Mamdani and other critics of Israel of “moral cynicism”and “absurdity.”

Iran, Hamas, and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah movement are part of what Tehran calls the regional “axis of resistance,” an alliance opposed to Israel and its influence in the Middle East.

Public opinion in the US has shifted against Israel in recent years as Netanyahu’s government expanded military operations in Gaza and Lebanon and lobbied Washington to join forces for an air campaign against Iran.In a recent Economist/YouGov poll, 47% of respondents said they believed Netanyahu had committed war crimes in Gaza, while 49% supported enforcing the ICC warrant if he entered the US.

Israel’s influence on American foreign policy, particularly President Donald Trump’s decision to attack Iran, has also fueled divisions within the MAGA movement. Prominent Trump allies, including former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, have publicly broken with the president over the issue.

Mamdani is regarded as a rising figure in the Democratic Party. His victory in the New York mayoral election was widely seen as proof that outspoken criticism of Israel is no longer necessarily a barrier to electoral success in the US, even in a city with one of the world’s largest Jewish communities. The Israeli government equates criticisms of its policies with anti-Semitism.

U.S., Israel preparing to bombard energy-related targets in Iran, sources say

By Updated on: July 31, 2026 / 7:38 PM EDT

Washington — The United States and Israel areplanning what would be one of the harshest bombing campaigns to date against energy infrastructure targets in Iran, multiple sources told CBS News, with strikes possible throughout the weekend.

There was some discussion about trying to conclude by the time financial markets open Monday because of concern about how the bombings will affect the U.S. and global economy, but an end point wasn't locked in.

The Israelis have been notified and are coordinating with the United States, according to multiple U.S. sources. The president has yet to give the final 'go' orders for the strikes, the sources said.

A joint operation would mark Israel's return tocombat operations which it had halted during the U.S.-brokered truce. Iran has not hit Israel since the memorandum of understanding fell apart and the U.S. restarted combat operations in early July.

An Israeli official told CBS News:"Israel is unaware of a decision to restart full military operations, nor has been requested of Israel to join any military actions against Iran."

The military strike plan came up during President Trump's cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, according to sources briefed later. Some White House aides who focus on politics were strongly opposed, one of the sources said.

While reporters were in the room, Mr. Trump said: "We'll be hitting them very hard. At some point, they're going to say, 'We just can't take it anymore.'"

"I think we just want to win," he told the press when asked about reviving diplomacy.

Energy infrastructure including power plants and refineries would likely be targeted, two of the sources said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to CBS News, "As President Trump said at his cabinet meeting today, the United States will win, and Iran will not have a nuclear weapon under his watch."

Chief Pentagon spokespersonSean Parnell said the Pentagon would not comment on targets before the president makes a final decision.

"The Department of War is locked and loaded, ready to execute the President's directives at a moment's notice," Parnell said in a statement.

A former U.S. military official told CBS that the value of hitting energy infrastructure would be to impact the Iranian military's ability to provide services and effectively govern.

When Mr. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met earlier this week, Netanyahu briefed him on three options for the war, including military strikes focused on land resupply routes, a senior Israeli official said. Netanyahu also met with Defense Secretary Hegseth.

The U.S. has already struck bridges in this conflict that were dual-use — used by the military and civilians— a U.S. official said.

There were high-level U.S. discussions Friday about cutting electricity across Tehran, but no decision had been made as of Friday afternoon.

Last week, Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social that he would bomb and destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant for every attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

US loses F-35B stealth jet in unexplained ‘mishap’ (VIDEOS)

The $109 million fighter crashed in California, with its pilot ejecting before impact

Published 31 Jul, 2026 21:

A US Marine Corps F-35B stealth fighter crashed and caught fire at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California, on Friday, apparently resulting in the total loss of the $109 million aircraft, according to footage from the scene.

Emergency crews responded at around 10 AM local time to what the military described as a “Class A mishap,” its category for the most serious accidents. The aircraft was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 11 of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.

The pilot ejected, was transported to a local medical facility in stable condition for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” the Marine Corps said in a follow-up statement, adding that the crash occurred on the base’s flightline.

Footage from the scene showed a thick column of black smoke rising above the base. Aerial video showed the burned-out jet lying in a scorched dirt field near the runway as military personnel and firefighters surrounded the wreckage.

The crash also sparked a vegetation fire, prompting a response from the San Diego Fire Department. White fire retardant could be seen covering parts of the ground around the aircraft. No injuries on the ground were immediately reported.

The military did not immediately disclose what caused the crash. The F-35B is the short-takeoff-and-vertical-landing variant of the fifth-generation Joint Strike Fighter and is operated primarily by the Marine Corps. Each aircraft costs approximately $109 million.

Miramar was formerly home to the US Navy fighter-pilot school depicted in the film Top Gun and was once known as “Fightertown USA.” The school moved to Nevada in 1996, when the base was transferred to the Marine Corps.

The latest incident occurred almost exactly one year after a US Navy F-35C crashed nearNaval Air Station Lemoore in central California on July 30, 2025. Its pilot also ejected safely before the jet struck a field and burst into flames.
