At least three people were killed and two others were wounded in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in southern Idaho on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

An unidentified employee was among the people killed.

Police identified24-year-old Chad Williamsas the gunman. He died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks has said authorities are working to determine a motive.

“We believe the threat to the community is over,” Hicks said on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

He also said on Saturday that investigators had not yet confirmed the total number of people killed or wounded because officials were still notifying victims’ families.

"We have literally hundreds of people that were in some way, shape or form in the area of this restaurant at the time,” Hicks said. “This is an exceptionally chaotic scene, on a Saturday afternoon here in Twin Falls, at one of the busiest locations in all of southern Idaho.”

Witness Lane Koehn, 34, said he was stopped at a traffic light near the restaurant when he saw an individual carrying what appeared to be an AR-style rifle come out of the drive-thru area. Koehn said another man, who had a handgun, opened fire on the suspected shooter.
