An armed patriot takes out a gunman in Twin Falls, Idaho, and he's praised as a hero. A meglomaniac tries to take out the whole populace, pleas the fifth, and everybody slow-walks like cowards!

We've become a nation of double standards. If you can't see it for what it is, you're willfully ignorant.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanched announced an order late Sunday that formally rescinds President Donald Trump's $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization fund," which was intended to provide relief for those who claim they were unfairly targeted by the federal government.

The order will end a weeks-long standoff with senators who were threatening to block Blanche's confirmation for the permanent position as head of the Justice Department unless it was put in writing that the fund was dead. The Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday is set to vote on his nomination.

"My team and I have met with committee members and Senators over the past several weeks and addressed any concerns or outstanding questions. We have enjoyed good faith discussions, and as a result issue the following order and update with regard to the May IRS settlement," Blanche said in a post on X.

The order, which Blanche attached to the post, states that the fund shall have no force or effect and "establishes, beyond any doubt, that there is no fund.

The primary opposition to Blanche getting through the Senate Judiciary Committee and to a final vote are GOP members Sens. John Cornyn, Texas, and Thom Tillis, North Carolina.

Blanche will need a "yes' vote from at least one of them in Tuesday's confirmation hearing.

Cornyn now appears to be a solid yes.

“Sen. Cornyn has reached an agreement with the Department of Justice, which will be issuing a formal order permanently terminating the anti-weaponization fund and making clear in a binding written document that the scope of the audit settlement is limited to only the plaintiffs, including the President, and the IRS,” Cornyn spokesperson Natalie Yezbick said overnight.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the weekend addressed his appearance in a viral meme, saying he initially hated the photo of him on the couch in the White House, but had come to appreciate the meme.

Rubio was photographed in an awkward position on a couch in the White House last year, looking somewhat contemplative. The meme adapts the photo to show Rubio wearing clothes connected to another position and portrays him as preparing to accept yet another position at President Donald Trump's behest. Trump himself has repeatedly appointed Rubio to secondary roles throughout the administration.

“Well, the meme thing, you know, was interesting because when it first came out, I hated that picture, you know, because what happened is in that couch, if you don’t have a pillow behind your back, you kind of sink,” he told Fox News's Lara Trump.

“So I looked at the pictures, I was like, this is terrible. I look, you know, like whatever. And then it turned into this other thing and it was fine and it’s funny," he went on. "I don’t really follow it very closely, but people have shown me pictures out there."

Some of the more common adaptations have shown him prepared to assume the role of the Ayatollah of Iran, the President of Venezuela, various actors whom Trump has criticized, and more.

Israel warns White House of 'security concerns' over Gaza deal

The 15-point plan called for the storage of heavy weapons, but left the interim Gaza government with the authority to decide on personal weapons, such as rifles.

The Israeli government this week warned the White House that it had major concerns with the recently unveiled Hamas disarmament deal, contending that its implementation risked Hamas reasserting control over the region.

Trump's Board of Peace, last week, unveiled a 15-point plan for the transition of power in Gaza, which included the establishment of an interim government, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the establishment of a new security force in the region.

But Israel has "serious security concerns" with the plan and has voiced them to the White House, Politico reported, citing comments from a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Our assessment is that if we redeploy before Hamas is truly disarmed, it will quickly expand its presence throughout Gaza, rebuild its terrorist infrastructure, once again threaten Israeli communities, and seek to carry out another Oct. 7-style attack,” spokesman Doron Spielman told the Associated Press.

The 15-point plan called for the storage of heavy weapons, but left the interim Gaza government with the authority to decide on personal weapons, such as rifles.

Conflict has raged in Gaza since October of 2023, when Hamas forces launched a large-scale raid on Israeli territory, briefly capturing border towns and taking hundreds of hostages.

Iranian Leadership is unbelievably duplicitous! They ask for a meeting, some would say “beg,” talks begin, with more scheduled in the immediate future, and they say, openly and proudly, that they’re not having any discussions, that nothing is being talked about, and they’re only dealing with “Oman.” They then go on to give their usual blather in saying, the Strait of Hormuz will be operated powerfully by them, when it is already completely controlled by the United States Navy and our “Blockade” or, as some say, “The United States Wall of Steel!” Nothing gets through to Iran, unless we want it to, and nothing will get through, unless a Deal, or Total Surrender, is accomplished. Whether Iran wants to admit it or not, we are, in fact, talking of a solution to a problem that they have caused, for decades. It is very simple, IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP
