This has been one of the most requested locations from followers of the page, so here's an objective look at what the data actually shows.

Little Saint James sits just southeast of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein purchased the island in 1998, and it remained his primary residence until his death in 2019. It later became central to the criminal investigations into his trafficking of minors.

LiDAR can't tell us anything about what happened inside any building on the island. What it can do is show how the landscape itself was engineered and reshaped over time.

The imagery reveals an extensive network of roads, terraces, retaining walls, building platforms, shoreline modifications, and grading spread across the island. Rather than a few isolated structures, development extended across much of the island's footprint, with infrastructure built directly into the steep, rugged terrain.

What's visible in the data includes:

• Extensive terracing around the island's central ridge, creating level building sites on otherwise steep ground

• Cut-and-fill work used to carve roads through the terrain

• Retaining walls and shoreline modifications around several coves and docking areas

• Multiple building pads and service areas, some largely hidden beneath tree cover

• A connected road network linking the island's major structures

When Epstein purchased the island, it already included a main residence, guest cottages, a dock, a helipad, a desalination system, and support buildings. Over the following two decades, the property expanded significantly, adding more residences, utilities, landscaped grounds, maintenance facilities, and an underwater electrical and fiber-optic connection to St. Thomas.

LiDAR doesn't uncover anything hidden beneath the ground here. What it does is strip away dense tropical vegetation to expose the full extent of the island's engineered landscape, roads, terraces, foundations, retaining walls, and construction platforms, in a way conventional aerial imagery simply can't show.

What occurred on Little Saint James is part of the historical record and the criminal investigations that followed. This LiDAR view documents only the physical landscape of the island, showing how it was reshaped over more than two decades of development.
