I wonder if God even views surrogate/ Dr. made babies as HIS own created beings. Weird to think about in real day to day life, because these kids are humans, but I do ponder what it means in eternity.
This discussion should be a viral one.
Door Dash Babies
It does seem wrong, given his mental health timeline and later she gets all the child support as well

Apologies if this has been discussed but I can't wrap my head around how bizarre this timeline is:
-
Kanye starts spending time in Wyoming to record Ye: late 2017 - June 2018
-
Chicago: Born January 2018
-
Kanye is spending even more time in Wyoming: September 2018
-
Kanye publicly confirms his bipolar diagnosis: 2018
-
Psalm: Born May 2019
-
Kanye buys a ranch in Wyoming and commits even more time there: November 2019
-
Kanye is living separately in Wyoming: early 2020
-
Kanye's very public mental health crisis peaks: 2020
-
Kim and Kanye get a divorce: Feb 2021
It's pretty clear that by the time Chicago was born, Kanye was spending significant time in Wyoming. People who have careers that allow them to work anywhere don't choose to work so far away from their young and growing family unless things are already deteriorating.
Yet surrogates kept having his biological children while he was thousands of miles away, going through a mental health crisis, and his marriage was deteriorating. It's dehumanising in the most literal sense - in that your reproduction is being decided by your wife, doctors, and surrogates.
To be clear, I'm not a Kanye apologist. He should have exercised his reproductive rights and put a stop to this because they were clearly in no space to have more children. But here we are.
I strongly disagree with the concept of paid surrogacy in general because it allows the elite to use economically vulnerable women as incubators. And in this case, not only did Kim use surrogates, but she also used the semen of a man who wasn't consistently physically present and was definitely not emotionally/mentally present. She was literally using other people's body parts to round out her vision of having four kids. Like I said, it's dehumanising in the most literal sense possible.
It's hard to feel sympathy for Kanye because he's the biggest asshole imaginable, but no one should have their reproduction decided while they're mentally vulnerable. The informed consent in that situation is dubious, and I think it would be a bigger discussion if Kanye wasn't such a dick.
I also believe it would be a much bigger discussion if a woman's eggs were used for surrogacy while she was in active crisis.
It raises a question that I never see discussed - what level of informed, ongoing consent should be required before implanting embryos when one intended parent has a serious mental illness?
I think that entire situation would drive anyone completely over the edge, especially if they were already experiencing mental health challenges. Based on the timeline, it did indeed drive him over the edge.
It's obvious that they're both terrible parents, but the timeline of the last two kids honestly makes me feel sick in how humans (including the kids) were treated like commodities to be acquired as Kim saw fit.
And ultimately those poor kids are the ones paying the price for their abhorrent decisions.
