Treasury launched two separate Iran-focused financial actions on August 7, one against a multinational shadow-banking system moving hundreds of millions of dollars, and another against cryptocurrency exchanges, shell companies and a gambling-linked digital-asset network supporting the IRGC. Treasury says this is already its eighth 2026 action against Iran’s shadow-banking apparatus.
