The Trump Administration has implemented a daring plan that will allow it to sabotage Democratic efforts to investigate the administration if Democrats take over Congress.

The Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel issued an opinion on Monday that will allow Trump to claim executive privilege over communications between him and “private advisers.”

The opinion goes on to say that this move would be legal “as long as they relate to official decision-making, involve, or reflect communications with the president or his direct advisers, and are confidential.

Furthermore, this extends to “direct advisers” communication with outside advisers.
