I love Q and Trump, but there is a lot more involved in trade than just GDP.

POTUS loves to bring up DAIRY, accusing Canada of being unfair to US farmers. The fact is, the Canadian dairy industry is subsidized by the government and sold at a fixed price; if we were to start importing American dairy without tariffs, it would destroy the Canadian dairy industry, subsidized or not. NOT TO MENTION we have stricter standards with regards to hormones and other shit beings fed to our cows.

Trump either knows this and is extremely naive (or is using it as leverage for something else) or doesn't, which is even more worrying.

This was THE #1 sticking point most Canadians had with TPP under Obama. I find it incredibly odd that Trump is now harping on it.
