AOC Split from Longtime Fiancé Before Frozen Egg Plan
There's a reason Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn't mentioning her fiancé Riley Roberts when she talks about freezing her eggs … TMZ has confirmed they broke up.
AOC and Riley actually split roughly two years ago, and called off their engagement, according to Puck's Chief Washington Correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell … who was first to report the couple's demise.
Multiple sources on Capitol Hill tell TMZ, it's felt like ages since the pair were seen together publicly. That's not hyperbole … Riley and AOC were last photographed at 2021's Met Gala.
About a year later, in May 2022, the congresswoman confirmed she and RR were engaged. While we've confirmed they're dunzo, we can't say for certain when the break-up went down.
As you know … AOC is freezing her eggs and documenting her journey, which she described as "very daunting". She made zero mention of Riley during her first video about the process.
We reached out to AOC's rep and they had no comment.

“Do me a favor, Steve, when I’m on camera… And you don’t want to talk about something like @JudgeJeanine, never mention her friggin’ name to me, bc that woman still refuses to fire John Crabb, the prosecutor who was involved in putting you and me behind bars, okay?”

Inside Greece’s Migrant Control Operation Center: Migration Minister Reveals How Trump Win Sparked Worldwide Border Crackdown
ATHENS, Greece — Greece’s Migration Minister Thanos Plevris sat with Breitbart News exclusively for a lengthy interview last week explaining how the Hellenic Republic controls the flow of migration into this country, and how President Donald Trump’s 2024 victory in the United States set off a global movement that has led to stricter migration policies worldwide.
“For me, the best thing that President Trump did is the change of the migration policy in the USA and also of Europe,” Plevris told Breitbart News. “We can discuss about President Trump for one or two hours. As you know, I am a fan of President Trump. But if you ask me what was the best thing he did it was change the migration policy of the USA, because now we have a new migration policy also in Europe. We had a bad policy in Europe, and that was because of the USA—not because of Europe—this is the truth. I saw the polls. Germany, France, Holland, Denmark changed their policy because of the polls. In Sweden, they had the left policy—and now they have a stricter policy. And I see something now in Greece, as I told you, we have a very strict policy—and I see the polls: 30 percent are against our policy because they think it’s a policy against human rights, 35 percent agree with the policy, and 35 percent want stricter policy.”
This swing in public sentiment for stronger migration controls across Europe is something Plevris directly attributes to Trump’s success in the United States. He argues that when now former President Joe Biden was in office, the Biden administration’s open borders policies encouraged more countries especially those here in Europe to have open borders as well. But when Trump came back and implemented popular restrictions, the Europeans wanted those too—and so it has happened continent-wide with rare exception due to public demand.
“That means that the message from our citizens is clear: Enough is enough,” Plevris told Breitbart News.
It’s Trump’s return, he said, that set off a firestorm across Europe and worldwide leading to stricter immigration enforcement in every corner of the planet. “This is clear,” he said. “Absolutely clear.”

Intel upsizes stock offering to $20 billion at $95 per share as AI demand accelerates
-Intel announced a $15 billion common stock offering on Monday to support skyrocketing customer AI demand.
-Early on Tuesday, it said it had priced the stock offering at $95 a share and upsized the offer to $20 billion.
-It said the proceeds would be used “for general corporate purposes.” Tech giants have lifted capital expenditures this year to support the AI infrastructure buildout.
Intel announced on Tuesday it had upsized its previously announced common stock offering to $20 billion, with an offer price of $95 per share.
The chipmaker announced a $15 billion common stock offering on Monday to support skyrocketing customer demand for artificial intelligence computing power. Shares of Intel fell 4% in response.
Intel said the offering, set to close on August 12, is expected to raise net proceeds of $19.7 billion, after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses.
Intel intends to use the proceeds “for general corporate purposes,” it said, including, but not limited to, capital expenditures and working capital.
The chipmaker on Monday highlighted physical AI, purpose-built silicon and advance packaging among the major growth opportunities and said it will use the funding to support corporate needs, including capital expenditures and working capital,
Technology giants have shelled out trillions in recent years to meet insatiable AI demand and the unrelenting infrastructure build-out to support new compute capacity.
Several mega-cap tech companies boosted their capital expenditures on AI demand this earnings season, with spending on track to hit $765 billion this year and $1.2 trillion in 2027, according to estimates from Goldman Sachs. Amazon gave the highest guidance among the group this reporting period, citing the memory crunch.
Last month, Intel posted its fastest revenue growth in nearly 15 years and hiked capital expenditures guidance to $20 billion, citing strong customer demand.
At the time, finance chief David Zinsner said most of the spending would support factory tooling. He told CNBC that the company is bracing for a “meaningful increase” in 2027.
Intel shares have benefited over the last year from the AI infrastructure build-out and the U.S. government’s 10% equity stake aimed at bolstering domestic chip manufacturing. The stock has surged 175% in 2026 and quintupled in value over the last year.
The Intel announcement includes a 30-day option that would allow underwriters to buy an additional $2.25 billion in common stock.

Jeff Bezos ‘Closing In’ on Deal to Become Liverpool Co-Owner
Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and today considered the world’s third richest person, could very soon become a co-owner of Liverpool FC.
Bezos is reported by Sky News to be part of a consortium “closing in on a deal” that would purchase around a “one-third stake” in Liverpool from Fenway Sports Group (FSG). A formal announcement by FSG about the potential “transaction” could be made as soon as this week.
Bezos, aged 62, started Amazon from a rented garage in 1994. According to Forbes, his current net worth stands at $280.6 billion, behind only Elon Musk ($823.6 billion) and Larry Page ($290.1 billion) as the wealthiest individuals on the planet.
Joining him in the consortium set to acquire the minority share in Liverpool are Eduardo Saverin, a co-founder of Facebook, and Amit Bhatia, a former shareholder in EFL Championship club Queens Park Rangers. Saverin and Bhatia have similar estimated net worths of $32 billion and $30 billion respectively.
If a deal is completed, FSG would retain overall control of Liverpool, it would finally secure the outside investment that the firm founded by John W. Henry and Tom Werner has been willing to accept for the Reds for a number of years.
In November 2022, a statement read: “FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool.
“FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club. FSG remains fully committed to the success of Liverpool, both on and off the pitch.”
In January 2025, Elon Musk’s father, Errol, publicly claimed his son “would like to” buy Liverpool. But no offer was made and a full sale by FSG is not believed to have ever been considered. Elon Musk himself had previously joked on social media in 2022 about buying Manchester United.
Sky News adds that the deal values Liverpool overall at $6 billion, which suggests the Bezos, Saverin, Bhatia consortium will invest around $2 billion for an assumed 33% share.
It is not clear what split each person within the consortium might have and therefore how much money each individual is putting up to secure the stake.
But that $2 billion figure stands to make this one of soccer’s “richest-ever deals.” FSG bought Liverpool from American businessmen Tom Hicks and George Gillette in 2010 for an estimated $480 million, which demonstrates just how much more valuable the club has become over 16 years.
The record for a soccer team is the $5.4 billion Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital invested to take over Chelsea in 2022. Only around $3.2 billion from the deal was actually to buy the club, though, with the remaining $2.2 billion a commitment to invest in infrastructure over time.
For a 27.7% stake in Manchester United in 2024, Sir Jim Ratcliffe paid $1.6 billion, which also bought him and his INEOS team control of the club’s soccer operations.
In all of sports, the Los Angeles Lakers takeover by Mark Walter’s investment group in 2025 set a new record of $10 billion. The previous mark had only been set earlier that year when long-time NBA rivals, the Boston Celtics, were acquired by Bill Chisholm for $6.1 billion.

‘House’ Star Hugh Laurie Backs Sophie Cunningham, Says Men Should Not Compete Against Women
House star Hugh Laurie said on social media that he supports WNBA star Sophie Cunningham and added that he believes men should not compete against women.
Laurie expressed his opinion during a social media spat with British comedian, writer, producer, and anti-transgender activist Graham Linehan, the latter of who had demanded that Laurie say what he thinks about trans athletes more clearly.
Laurie had posted an August 9 message saying, “Strange this whole broigus should happen in professional basketball, where 99.9% of the world are, effectively, ‘women’. Per Pablo Torre of Sports Illustrated, if you’re an American man between 20 and 40 years of age and 7 feet tall or more, there’s a 17% chance you’re already in the NBA.”
The word “broigus” is a Yiddish word meaning argument, or bitter dispute.
Evidently, Graham Linehan didn’t feel that Laurie was being straightforward enough about his opinion on transgender athletes, and wanted Laurie to elaborate.
Linehan demanded that Laurie come right out and say whether he supports trans athletes or not, and called it “cowardly” to “distance yourself” from the question.
In a reply, Laurie left no doubt where he stood, but also bristled over Linehan calling him “cowardly.”
“Firstly, fuck off; secondly no, I don’t believe men should compete against women, I thought I’d made that pretty clear,” he tersely replied.
Lineman then inquired yet again, asking why Laurie was telling him to fuck off, and demanded that Laurie say directly if he supports WNBA player Sophia Cunningham.
Laurie finished the exchange writing, “You started it. ‘Cowardly’ to ‘fuck off’ is the going rate of exchange around here. And yes, I support Sophie Cunningham. And you, some of the time.”
Last year, Linehan was arrested by the UK over the comedian’s “hate speech” in his social media posts.
“In a country where paedophiles escape sentencing, where knife crime is out of control, where women are assaulted and harassed every time they gather to speak, the state had mobilised five armed officers to arrest a comedy writer for this tweet (and no, I promise you, I am not making this up),” Linehan wrote on his Substack after his arrest last September.
