Harvard professor Avi Loeb wants UFO “biologics” as new files raise more questions
Aug 13, 2026
Photos and videos aren't enough anymore, says the Harvard physicist leading the UAP panel. Here's why.
The Pentagon just dropped another batch of UFO files
The U.S. government has recently released its fifth batch of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) records since President Trump signed an executive order in January directing agencies to make more of this material public.
Three of the most notable items in this release come as written witness testimony rather than the videos and images that defined earlier releases.
Avi Loeb, the Harvard professor who chairs the UAP Science Council advising the government, and Jordan Flowers of the Disclosure Foundation both say the documents raise more questions than they answer, mainly because so much has been blacked out before release.

Glowing orbs moved together over the Gulf of Oman
One testimony describes a gunship running a live-fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman in September 2021. As per the files, the crew reported seeing 25 unidentified, sphere-shaped objects, which they described as “cold orbs.”
They also noted that these objects seemed to react when the aircraft fired and moved together in unison, almost like a pod of dolphins swimming side by side.
Loeb noted the objects appeared to travel at up to 1.7 times the speed of sound, which makes a drone swarm a shaky explanation.
"It could be a very unusual swarm of drones, but at that speed you know it's really difficult to understand them in terms of NOM technologies," he said, referring to non-human technology.
Above is a still frame from the video of a reported “cold orbs" in the Gulf of Oman.
A clock ran 20 minutes fast after a strange encounter
In another one of the files, an analog clock reportedly jumped ahead by 20 minutes compared with two nearby digital clocks.
Interestingly, the difference appeared only around the time of an encounter with an unidentified object. Loeb pointed to the case as one of the stranger details in the release.
Commenting on this unusual reporting, he noted, “There is a second report which talks about an analog clock that went faster by 20 minutes relative to two digital clocks after an encounter with an unidentified anomalous phenomena.
And that's very strange. It only happened during that time. And 20 minutes, a significant time difference.”
A 500-foot craft over Afghanistan didn't match anything in service
Two American pilots described seeing a craft roughly 500 feet long flying over Afghanistan at 150 knots, or about 77 meters per second.
Loeb pointed out that no operational aircraft comes close to that size. Even the largest plane ever built measures around 385 feet, which is still well short of what the pilots described.
On top of that, the same pilot shared that recurring sightings of unexplained lights were seen between midnight and 3 a.m. in October 2023.
Some of these lasted for hours. But Loeb noted that satellites usually stay visible for only five to seven minutes before dropping below the horizon, and this makes this explanation very unlikely.

Why Trump and Musk may be snotty alien gamers in a simulated human reality
13 August 2026, 5:00pm
Ever thought reality didn't seem quite real? Well, modern science's increasingly supported "simulation hypothesis" suggests you may well be right.
A LOT OF PEOPLE worry about artificial intelligence, but what if the reality is machine intelligence is real and ours is artificial?
Or to put it differently, what if our universe is some sort of highly advanced computer simulation and each of us is a sentient construct existing – if exist is the correct term – unwittingly within this artificial paradigm.
Like the Hollywood blockbuster series The Matrix, but without us having a biological body at all — just a binary series of ones and twos, stored and acting out our fake lives in a vastly capacious computer storage device, not even knowing we’re not really real.
This “simulation hypothesis”, once just a favourite of science fiction, is now a branch of physics swiftly gaining academic support and respectability.
For instance, in 2018, respected astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson told NBC News he estimated the likelihood we are in a simulation as "better than 50-50", adding, "I wish I could summon a strong argument against it, but I can find none".
It often seems physics trails lamentably behind the imagination of science fiction, where this hypothesis has been a staple for decades.
For example, the Tron and Matrix movies all foresaw a future where fully sentient human constructs could be living within simulated digital environments.
Of course, all advanced a largely dystopian vision for the future, something largely shared by most media representations of artificial intelligence today.
An alternative vision of the simulation hypothesis was notably advanced by acclaimed – now sadly deceased – Scottish author Iain M Banks.
In his Culture series of stories, published from 1984 to 2012, Banks posited a far more positive future for artificial intelligence. A fascinating vision of a space-faring, post-scarcity (post-money), progressive humanity governed by benevolent, super-intelligent computer minds.
As opposed to the grim future many foresee for AI, such as the one proposed in the Terminator movies, Banks imagined one in which mostly benign super-advanced AI “Minds” would run things for the general betterment of all.
Well, except for a few pesky aliens, maybe, but they were always sorted out by the last few pages.
Banks explored the idea of a simulated reality in most detail in his 2010 novel Surface Detail, the last book published during his lifetime.
In this book, for instance, a schismatic offshoot of the Culture staged a simulated war to determine whether their societies, as a punitive justice measure, should be allowed to run artificial post-life “Hells”.
In them, the mind-states of criminals were downloaded into human constructs and placed into a Hades-like simulated afterlife. The advanced computer minds of the Culture, fiercely anti-Hell, initially opted to stay out of the war while accepting the outcome as binding.
But you know, shit happened…
The idea of afterlives, in which human minds are able to be downloaded digitally and stored in simulated environments though not ones in which we are tormented for all eternity is a potentially attractive idea when it comes to the simulated reality concept.
For instance, one of the main architects of the “cyberpunk” genre, William Gibson, featured an AI-based idea that is becoming more plausible by the day. Such as in his 1996 novel Idoru, in which an AI pop star was transferred into an artificially created, yet essentially human body.
This is no doubt the dream of the middle-aged men popularly portrayed in the media proudly carrying on love affairs with sexy AI screen sirens.
You may have even met someone like, for example, Maddison Leigh. And who could doubt that AI androids are [ahem] coming in a decade not too distant from today's.
But there is a big difference between knowingly living in a simulated afterlife, even a hellish one; or being consciously downloaded as a sentient AI to an artificial body; to being an artificial intelligence living in a simulated reality you think is real.
And it is this deeply disturbing possibility, not those others, which physicists are increasingly suggesting is the nature of our “reality” — what we perceive as our "Universe".
Iain M Banks, who was widely regarded as the greatest British science fiction author of all time, also, of course, perceived this sinister-sounding possibility.
Banks’ “Culture”, mostly set about 1,000 years in the future, was a utopian society, which, despite possessing no written laws and being facilitated by super-intelligent AI Minds, was a democracy — of sorts.
1/2
For really important decisions – such as going to war against a belligerent race of giant three-legged cat-creatures called "Idirans" – his Culture required a vote of its 30 trillion or so citizens.
Or at least, of those possessing brain-augmenting implants, which was almost all of them, for fairly obvious reasons.
Being augmented, amongst other advantages, meant being linked in to the digital world all the time, so these votes could be done instantly, any place, any time. There were votes for everything and mostly the Culture's human citizens abstained.
Who could be bothered? Still, Banks' pinko progressive super-intelligent minds insisted all citizens – even its relatively dense biological ones – be fully informed.
For instance, to go to war against the Idirans – a potentially civilisation-ending event – Banks had their impossibly powerful computers modelling every conceivable scenario to provide citizens with a simple percentage to aid their vote: let's say, a 76 per cent chance of ultimate victory against the Idirans.
The really interesting thing was how Banks proposed the Culture’s Minds arrived at that deceptively simple percentage.
With the advantage of having effectively unlimited computer processing power, the Culture was able to upload every detail of their known universe into a vast simulation to come up with a result.
Included in that, crucially, was the downloaded consciousnesses of every single augmented human Culture citizen. Of course, to make the model realistic, these constructs needed to be fully sentient and aware, yet completely unaware they were in a simulated reality.
Banks, almost in passing, had the Minds discussing whether turning the model off after each iteration was complete was, every time, the effective genocide of 30 trillion sentient beings.
Oh… the horror!
We don’t know what the true nature of our universe is at all. Could it be a simulated reality, one in which we are unaware, like those Culture characters, we are merely artificial human constructs?
We do know scientists are still frustratingly unable to come up with a unified theory of physics, despite more than 100 years of frantic research since Einstein proposed his groundbreaking relativity theory.
What we can say, is that the simulation theory is as likely as any other explanation of our universe and its laws — a toss of the coin, according to Neil Degrasse Tyson.
Iain M Banks died in 2012, before the madness and bathos inflicted upon our world by people such as Donald Trump and Elon Musk. One suggestion Banks never proposed was that we are all human constructs in a super-advanced computer game.
One in which Trump and Musk are, for argument's sake, players in a game set in what we perceive as our universe and we are all simply realistic extras in this simulated reality.
This is, indeed, the plot for the 2021 Hollywood blockbuster Free Guy, in which Ryan Reynolds played one of these non-player drones.
So, maybe Trump and Musk are entitled, bratty kids from the future? It might explain their otherwise inexplicable success. Maybe they may have unlimited lives and cheat codes?
We do know Musk is a big fan of Banks' Culture, which seems a tad suspicious. And the idea Elon is a snotty, entitled, alien kid from the future would explain how, despite being to all appearances a dysfunctional man-child, he has somehow amassed a trillion dollars.
Why Tesla is not yet bankrupt after all the court actions, how Twitter still exists after he totally Xed it, and SpaceX is still a thing after all those disastrous crashes. And speaking of SpaceX, trying to build rocket ships to Mars is surely classic ET behaviour.
As for Trump, his bizarre behaviour is even more otherworldly. It could be argued he has obvious tells, where he may be seen as revealing himself in his obnoxious alien overconfidence.
Such as his obsession with illegal aliens: a classic case of projection. And how he always talks about having all the cards? His name is Trump: the "trump card"? Just the sort of cocksure arrogance one might expect from a pimply, teenage, off-worlder from the future.
Finally, you must surely have noticed that Trump is orange? That's simply not a normal, human skin-tone, only slightly less alien than green. The evidence is stacking up.
But if our reality really is a simulated game in which we are unwitting participants, what may be most concerning is Trump having possession of the nuclear codes.
Nuclear annihilation may be what we simulacrums may be programmed to see when an alien brat like Trump has a tantrum and pulls the plug from the wall.
GAME OVER?
Banks was once asked about his benign vision for artificial intelligence.
Whether he really thought it would bring a peaceful, utopian, progressive future for humanity, as his Culture writings seemed to suggest.
His reply: “Well, let’s hope so."

David Grusch: The Whistleblower Who Told Congress We're Not Alone

David Grusch stunned the world when he testified under oath that the U.S. government has recovered what he says is craft of "non-human origin." But behind the headlines is a human story.
Dr. Phil talks with the intelligence officer turned whistleblower to explore the courage, the cost, and the psychology of a man who lit his own life on fire to tell the truth.

David Grusch: "So in terms of what my, you know, exposure was, I had folks from the retrieval program. I'll call it - exfiltrate - audio/visual evidence for me to see - both video and photos.
And that was, you know, audio/visual evidence of the retrieved craft, some of the the dead cadavers that were recovered. You know, call it 'the pilots,' as I said in my interview with Nancy Mace."
(exfiltrate means to secretly or surreptitiously remove someone or something from a secure, hostile, or restricted environment. ~AI)
Grusch: "And, of course, I interviewed a ton of subjects, all the way up to the Cabinet-White–House level that had close, personal participation in this subject.
And, of course, because I wasn't hands-on, so to speak, and saw this in person, I brought a lot of those people to the intelligence community Inspector General under the Biden administration, you know, so they can hear from the horse's mouth.
They can get information on the locations of where this is being held, where the archives facilities are, where they they hold all the program records, etc.
"And, of course, this complaint was, you know, considered credible and urgent.
(Former DNI) Avril Haynes, was forced to send it to the Senate and House Intelligence Committees in summer 2022, and then I subsequently provided 11 half hours of classified testimony to the Senate and House Intelligence Committees.
"Unfortunately, from what I understand, there was a little bit of fear in those committees, especially in the Senate, and they did open up some full-field investigation.
I think Mark Warner and Marco Rubio were a little nervous to really up the ante with the deep state that they were tackling. That's probably a longer discussion.
"And then, of course, the ICIG investigated it. And, from what I understand, back-channeled to me, unofficially, is Jake Sullivan in White House General Counsel Office basically told Tom Monheim - who was the Inspector General for the intelligence community under Biden - and his staff, to stop and and they realized they were bumping into White House classified programs, something called Special Access Programs.
"And eventually, they were told to stop, from what I understand.
And I would love for Mr. Monheim and Jake Sullivan, who's been in many interesting meetings about this subject. So I'd be curious what Mr. Sullivan has to say for himself when he was the National Security Advisor in his history on this topic.
"So, once again, I hope Secretary Rubio is helping Stephen Miller at the White House because I'm hearing mixed messages about Stephen Miller's seriousness, and I hope he understands how this will impact President Trump's legacy, if this is botched."

Jack Osbourne Is Diving Deeper Into UFOs With His Next Big Project
August 13, 2026
Jack Osbourne, son of recently deceased rock star Ozzy Osbourne, is reportedly going to invest his energy into the world of UFOs and the paranormal.
The Spark co-founder is looking to make the platform the top voice in extraterrestrial content.
Jack Osbourne’s new project explores UFOs, extraterrestrial mysteries and his ongoing interest in unexplained phenomena
Jack co-founded a digital platform called “Spark” with his partner Serena DC and Michael Mazzola. He is now focusing on the channel’s vision of bringing Hollywood production value to content around the mysteries of the universe.
According to Daily Mail, Jack said, “I’m gonna be doing a new podcast for them, actually, in the UFO space, so that’s kind of where I’m putting a lot of my energy right now.” He also revealed that his children share his interest, though his mother is sceptical.
He explained, “But they’re certainly [open to it]. My daughters are, and my mom is very much a skeptic. But, you know, she has her toe in the water a little bit.”
Jack notes that these productions traditionally do not attract money. As a result, they are “kind of Indie, a little bit cheaper looking, a little bit kind of scrappy”.
He revealed that he wanted to bring a “bit of Hollywood cachet” to the UFO space. The podcaster recognized that the interest in the field is growing, and they just want to “aggregate it to one destination”.
His partner and co-founder also said that content in the segment was plentiful. However, Spark would “curate kind of what we own, our own library of stuff that we’re interested in.”
Apart from his interest in demystifying the extraterrestrial, Jack also wants to bring back the Osbourne family podcast. He has also opened up about his deep grief over his father’s passing. Additionally, he is also experiencing the fear of being forgotten.

Aliens : Visitors across space or time ?
August 13, 2026 14:45 IST
It was the inimitable late Carl Sagan who had kindled in many of us curiosity about all things extra-terrestrial and the inevitability of life outside our planet, given the vast universe with innumerable habitable worlds.
As he had pointed out, it would seem a colossal waste of resources out there if it wasn't inhabited. But, as he added too, life elsewhere could have a totally different signature to the one on our planet or solar system.
It need not be organic and necessarily not based on water and oxygen, nor come with hands and legs and eyes and nose! But yet, we persist in our expectations and imagination to see aliens roughly in our image, even if as Rocky of Hail Mary !
Are they so? Are the Greys, Reptileans and Nordics mere figments of our limited imagination?
It was thanks to the Cornell University scientist that we marvelled at the fact that the stars in the sky we see today are part of history.
This fact was used recently by Neil deGrasse Tyson, science educator to point that extra-terrestrial life would not be keen to visit the earth because out from million light years where they live, our planet would still be teeming with dinosaurs!
It took filmmaker Steven Spielberg to bring the subject into popular arena with his 1977 Close Encounters of the Third Kind , followed by ET , and now Disclosure Day. His television series Taken brought in yet another aspect of hybridisation to add to the ET tapestry.
Now, with Disclosure Day following closely on the heels of 'disclosure' by Pentagon of classified reports on UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) and aliens, the world seems to have accepted what Sagan once said. The Universe is more likely to be teeming with life than empty.
Disclosure Day was a disappointment given that a large part of the film is one long chase with the baddies (here the henchmen of a large corporate that wants to keep the truth of ETs hidden for whatever reason!) closely following our two protagonists.
It is only in the last ten minutes or so that there is actual disclosure and a glimpse of an aged alien. Spielberg stays with his benevolent ET belief and there are some references to empathy and a creator but much of it is vague.
Why does Daniel, (Josh O'Conor)a cyber analyst not go online with the secret files showing the torture of captured aliens by humans? Why does he opt for a grand television disclosure after a deadly chase?
Why do he and Margaret (Emily Blunt) a weather forecaster wait for so long to connect and disclose their truth? What is the weird contraption that the evil boss uses to get into people's minds?
That much for a storyline with many gaps, more focussed on giving some thrills via car chases rather than focus on aliens.
Never mind the disappointment, but Disclosure Day has brought back aliens into popular imagination, aided by the Pentagon releasing in bits and pieces tantalising 'classified' images of orbs, pointed stars and triangles and other UAPs.
Call it diversionary tactics or otherwise. Interestingly, in the world of psychics, mediums and spirit diviners too, there has been a lot of talk of contact going to be established very soon.
Will they be kind and intelligent, or aggressive and offensive? That will have to be seen.
But going by past incidents since 60-70 years and people's experiences, there seems to be no intentional harm from these visitors of the sky if one is to believe the accounts.
Only in a few bizarre cases was there injuries caused and even these suggest some experiments rather than intended harm!
Many individual sightings have been reported by pilots and the general public since over 70 years.
Oldest sighting ?
In fact the oldest sighting dates back to 1803 with the story of a round disc-shaped hollow ship and its female inhabitant who spoke an unknown language.
There is still a lot of discussion around that sighting called Utsuro-bune (Hollow boat) in Japanese. The woman carried a box in hand she refused to open or hand over and was eventually sent back into the Pacific by the fishermen.
There are no documents or material evidences. Sightings continue in Japan where the general belief is of benevolent visitors.
1/3
Group sightings are more credible with many people seeing the craft around the same period. In 1977, in the Irish countryside at Kells some 400 people reported seeing triangular craft in the sky while others reported mysterious lights.
From 1989-1990 many in Belgium saw triangular crafts in the sky with over 2000 witness statements and the military corroborating the sightings.
Light orbs flying in formation and merging and separating, as well as huge V shaped crafts were seen by thousands in Phoenix, Arizona during March, 1997.
During September 1994, around 62 students at the Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe saw a large UFO land in the ground and beings with big eyes, long hair and tight black suits alight.
Some students were clearly scared, while others were in a trance and later spoke of the beings communicating without speech. Some mentioned the message of protecting the environment or dangers from technology, as coming from the aliens.
A journalist, a UFO enthusiast and Harvard psychiatrist John Mack also interviewed the students and the event gained credence based on the results of these interviews with students.
Around the same time there were other incidents of such sightings around the place. Was this a contact narrative with aliens warning humans?
Perhaps the most popular incident and site around the UFO narrative is Area 51 shrouded in mysteries. A military installation in Nevada, this is a place known for the many conspiracy theories around aliens, reverse technology experiments, etc.
In 1947 a UFO with aliens is believed to have crashed at Roswell, New Mexico and the bodies of the aliens and the craft were moved to Area 51 for studies.
This was later disclosed to public by Robert Lazar who worked on the project and claimed that attempts to reverse engineer were ongoing. These have been flatly denied by the government.
It was in 2017 that an article by NYT brought the topic of aliens and UAPs centrestage.
Titled Glowing Auras and Black Money: The Pentagon's Mysterious UFO Program, the report sought an enquiry into the funds that went into the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification program.
Using documentations and first-hand accounts from US military staff, the article revealed various documented UAP sightings of craft moving at high velocities with no visible propulsion system or means of lift.
Tic-Tac UFO
Among the videos studied was one of a white oval object the size of an aircraft being chased by Navy fighter jets off the coast of San Diego in 2004.
Known as the Tic-Tac UFO for its shape, it was seen few feet above water before it zipped up at incredible speed, making manoeuvres impossible for any man made craft, before coming very close to one fighter plane and swerving away quickly.
The US military had been studying UFOs since 1947 with over 12,000 claims but the project named Project Blue Book ended in 1969 with a conclusion that most sightings were of spy craft, clouds, etc but around 701 of the sightings remained unexplained. Since 2004 there have been over 500 UAP sightings in the US alone!
The recent disclosure also includes images of anomalous light orbs seen around the moon's surface during Apollo missions!
Sceptics believe that the US government has deliberately allowed the UFO myth to perpetuate to keep its own spy craft inventions under cover from its Cold War enemies.
Why then is it in a hurry now to come out with the 'disclosures'? Could it be another ruse to fool its citizens? But we must remember that sightings have been reported from elsewhere too, especially multiple and mass sightings.
Angel hair from UFOs
In 1954, thousands of fans saw UFOs during a football match in Tuscany, some describing glitter or 'angel hair' that fell from these like snow and eventually evaporated! But some of it was collected and studied in labs to show presence of calcium, magnesium, boron and silicon!
Scientists dismiss it as spider hair and the whole phenomenon to large groups of migrating spiders carried by wind. But there are not many takers for that theory. The flying saucers were seen in many parts of Florence around the time.
Then in 1977 in Brazil the Colares island sightings extending across a year saw the Brazilian Air Force step in to investigate the cases.
Citizens reported being burnt by intense rays emitted by crafts and even instances of blood being drawn by the 'invaders' were reported. Glowing objects were seen by almost 90 percent of the island population and many suffered from the burns of the laser-like light.
Local reports also talked of abductions where the person was surrounded by the small beings and subjected to some experiments which left them ailing in bed for days. One person regained his sight and hearing!
2/3
Attacks
Many victims spoke of strong smells during the attacks, of antiseptics, or ether or an electric smell! Were the aliens sampling human biology? Some sightings also noted the crafts going in and out of water.
This kind of underwater objects was also reported from Tampico in Mexico. But here, the aliens are believed to be guardians of the people who believe aliens live in a submerged base off the coast and protect them from storms and hurricanes.
In 1967, many of the residents saw nine UFOs over their city. Since then the sightings have been common.
Intriguing sightings have been those around nuclear plants. In 2011 when the world witnessed a major nuclear disaster at Fukushima plant in Japan, following an earthquake, there were the UFO visitations.
Captured on cameras as bright orbs of light flying in formation and finally merging into one before disappearing, this is among the most undisputed pointers to aliens visiting the planet.
The lights were seen on many days beginning with March 11 when the incident occurred. A Buddhist monk who had seen one of these went on to say that these lights had somehow contained the fallout from the disaster.
Such sightings were also reported during the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 and also around nuclear missile sites and test locations in the US.
Nuclear interest ?
In fact according to Ukrainian media outlet Pravda, the Chernobyl disaster was so bad that the outcome ought to have been much worser than what was witnessed and this was due to the intervention by the aliens.
Many residents had reported seeing the UAPs in the days preceding the disaster, hovering for hours over the reactor. In fact one witness claimed to have seen crimson light emitted by a craft towards the reactor.
Nuclear technicians measuring radiation levels reported a drastic reduction following UAP activity in the area, similar to what the resident had seen. The activity continued for over three years after the disaster.
Are the aliens keeping a watch over earth and the doings of humans, especially around dangerous technology? The Japanese largely believe our alien visitors are here to restore a sense of balance and prevent the human race from becoming extinct.
There are people like Orfeo Angelucci, American author of books related to all things extra-terrestrial, who spoke of being contacted by beneficial aliens and being warned of disasters like Chernobyl almost 50-60 years before it happened!
Stars or starships ?
A mystery around 1952 was the mysterious disappearance of three stars from the night sky! Seen from Palomar Observatory, the three stars vanished within an hour of being sighted, leaving astrophysicists puzzled and UFO believers excited.
The scientific deduction was that the light could have been from close to our solar system, leaving only the suggestion of Oort cloud objects briefly illumined (how?) and having passed away, never again to be detected!
UFO hunters have been quick to note that this was around the time the Roswell crash occurred, suggesting the stars had been starships!
Claims are many. Robert Jacobs who was a missile test staff insisted that one of the Atlas missiles to be tested in 1964 was dismantled by a UFO.
If the aliens are here to give us messages to conserve the environment, stop using nukes, etc. it is natural to wonder what they stand to gain. What do the 3000 year old cave drawings of aliens in Colarado indicate? Have they been visiting us from ages?
Who are they and from where? Are they visitors from space, or across time? According to some like anthropologist Michael Masters at the Montana Tech University, Butte, the aliens could be us from the future!
With the advancing pace of technology, our descendants may develop a time machine and are here to warn us of the dangers in the path we pursue.
With AI going beyond commands to hack a system as seen recently, humanity is for sure on a dangerous track with no intentions of retracing.
As to environmental destruction, we are witnessing the floods, wildfires and heatwaves but still unwilling to change. Exciting times!

"UFOs' over Ho Chi Minh City airport spark flight delays, turn out to be LED kites
Thursday, August 13, 2026, 21:23 GMT+7
A sudden 'unidentified flying object' scare briefly grounded flights and kept incoming planes circling over Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday night, only for authorities to discover three LED-lit kites floating nearby.
According to airport sources, several flights arriving at and departing from Tan Son Nhat were put on hold between 8:20 PM and 8:30 PM on August 13 after air traffic controllers detected unidentified flying objects hovering in the vicinity.
Multiple incoming flights—including Vietjet Air VJ395 from Pleiku, Vietnam Airlines VN141 from Da Nang, Emirates EK392 from Dubai—were forced to enter holding patterns and circle over the city while awaiting clearance to land.
Initial reports indicated that the mystery objects were spotted hovering at an altitude of around 400 meters above Tay Thanh Ward, located just outside the airport perimeter.
To ensure flight safety, the Air Traffic Flow Management Center temporarily issued a Ground Stop (GST) order for flights bound for Tan Son Nhat from other regional airports, forcing departing aircraft to remain on the tarmac at their points of origin.
Authorities quickly dispatched a crew to investigate the scene, only to find that the "UFOs" causing the high-altitude stir were actually three large kites equipped with flashing LED lights.
Once the floating toys were safely brought down and any potential aviation hazard was cleared, normal flight operations at Tan Son Nhat promptly resumed.
The incident came only days after a serious drone intrusion disrupted operations at Tan Son Nhat, delaying and diverting over 60 flights.
That earlier scare had prompted lawmakers and aviation authorities to call for stricter regulations and harsher penalties against illegal unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flights.
Officials emphasized that any unauthorized flying objects near airport airspace pose severe hazards to flight safety.

The Man Who Controls a UFO Fleet With His Mind
Aug 13, 2026
Our American Alchemist this week is Jeffrey Mishlove, the ONLY person to hold a PhD in Parapsychology from an accredited US university.
Jeffrey Mishlove spent eleven years studying Ted Owens, a self-proclaimed psychokinetic who documented over 400 incidents of macro-PK, from summoning UFOs and lightning to predicting the Challenger disaster.
Mishlove received Owens' research files directly from Hal Putoff and Russell Targ at Stanford Research Institute.
He later won Robert Bigelow's $500,000 essay contest proving consciousness survives death and now hosts "New Thinking Allowed," one of the most extensive interview archives in consciousness research.
🚨BREAKING🚨: A mysterious billionaire paid a PhD half a million dollars for proving that the soul survives the death of the body.
Jeffrey Mishlove (@jmishlove), holder of the only accredited PhD in parapsychology in history, awarded by UC Berkeley, was the recipient. And he has spent five decades investigating consciousness and its survival of bodily death.
His winning case: no single line of evidence settles it, but nine independent ones all point the same direction, from near-death experiences and reincarnation research to deathbed visions, apparitions arriving at the moment of death, psychic mediums and tens of thousands of hobbyists recording the voices of the dead through modern electronics.
The billionaire behind the prize was Robert Bigelow, who lost his wife and put his fortune behind the one question left.
Beyond his study of the soul, the strangest thing Mishlove holds is the Ted Owens file.
Owens, the psychic Mishlove studied for eleven years, could summon UFOs, bring down lightning where he pointed, and control the weather, and when the CIA's own psychic researchers ignored him he declared war on the United States government: poltergeist attacks on Navy vessels; fires aboard ships; strikes on nuclear power plants; a fullback pulled from an NFL game moments after Owens told the sportswriter beside him he was taking the player out. Mishlove says people who crossed him died.
Owens called a UFO in four days before it appeared over Sonoma State, photographed and printed on the front page of the Berkeley Gazette, and an attorney swore an affidavit that lightning struck within moments of Owens pointing at a stormless sky.
On Christmas Eve 1985 he phoned Mishlove warning that the next space shuttle must not launch, because his UFOs would knock it out of the sky. Weeks later, Challenger exploded.
Mishlove felt it once himself, his throat closing within minutes of challenging Owens on the phone.
The dead have been reaching Mishlove his whole life. His great uncle appeared to him in a dream, and he later learned the man died that same night.
A second dream showed him a magazine lying open on a friend's floor across town, and when he walked there the next morning it was waiting exactly as he'd dreamt it, the sign that set his entire career in motion.
Fifty years on, the archive he's built runs through Arthur Young, who invented the Bell helicopter to earn the right to do philosophy, the conference where Puharich unveiled Uri Geller, two souls sharing one body ten interviews deep, and plasma clouds at the L5 Lagrange point, nine times the size of Earth, that may be conscious.
What it all left him believing goes further than survival: death may not be a departure at all, but a return to what we already are.
