The laser itself, but not the effect it has on the air it passes through.

 

It would distort the light passing through due to heat distprtion, and cause humidity in the air to become steamโ€ฆ invisible at night, but with the right light conditions, it is possible to see one in the day.

 

I'm not sure that's what this is, but that's why I brought it here. More brains.
