'The coverage makes it look like the whole thing is his': LeBron James' I Promise public school is set to cost Akron district taxpayers approximately $8m a year

LeBron James opened the I Promise public school for for disadvantaged youth in his hometown of Akron, Ohio last month

NBA star was widely praised and received national media coverage for his support of at-risk children

Taxpayers will end up paying roughly $8m a year because it is a public school run by the Akron district and not privately run

LeBron personally donated millions to the school through his LeBron James Family Foundation and will have a huge influence on the program

His foundation will also contribute $2 million a year when the school is functioning at full capacity with all eight grades

LeBron earned the praise of First Lady Melania Trump this week after the President attacked the NBA star in a weekend tweet questioning his intelligence

The I Promise public school that LeBron James opened for disadvantaged youngsters in his hometown of Akron, Ohio will eventually end up costing district taxpayers roughly $8million each year.

District officials are still trying to finalize the contract details for the school, Cleveland.com reports.

The school is a joint effort of LeBron's foundation and Akron Public Schools and is the product of a decade's worth of work

'The coverage made it look like the whole thing is his. He did a lot, but taxpayers should know it's their investment too,' district spokesman Mark Williamson said.

The NBA star was widely praised and received national media coverage for his support of at-risk children when the school officially opened last month.

He personally donated millions through his LeBron James Family Foundation, worked to secure sponsorship and will ultimately have a huge influence on the school program.

But given it is a public school in the Akron district and not privately run, the taxpayers will actually end up paying the majority of the costs once it is fully established.

Once the school is established, it will cost the district approximately $8 million to run. The costs will mostly be covered by moving teachers, students and funds from other schools, according to the district.

LeBron's foundation will contribute $2 million a year when the school is functioning at full capacity with all eight grades. Currently, it is only catering for third and fourth graders.

The foundation has already contributed $500,000 this year to cover additional teachers, training and after-school care.

It has also spent $2 million on the redesign of the school district building and LeBron has previously donated millions of dollars to his hometown school district.

Twin blazes tearing through northern California fueled by dry vegetation and hot, windy weather have now grown to become the largest wildfire in state history.

The Mendocino Complex Fire expanded nearly 80 percent over the weekend and has now scorched more than 283,000 acres north of San Francisco, forcing more than 20,000 people to evacuate and destroying at least 75 homes so far.

Firefighters are continuing to battle the rapidly-advancing blaze that is considered to be around 30 percent contained as of Monday night.

Comprised of the River and Ranch fires, the Mendocino Complex has now surpassed last year's Thomas Fire, which torched 281,893 acres in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, as the largest fire in California history.

Cal Fire officials said water-dropping aircraft made some progress against one of the fires in the complex over the weekend, while the other has grown substantially, spreading into the Mendocino National Forest.

God Bless all the firefighters, and the innocent people of California affected by these stupid, evil greedy people who allowed this to happen.

True,

but they allowed it to happen, by not clearing brush, and the stupid way they managed their forests to prevent fires( removing dead fuel on forest floor)

Diverting water, turning areas dry.

it was a combo of many idiotic decisions and done on purpose, to create these situations for profit.

They have never ever took away a star.

Going to be funny when the people demand LOTS of them removed after they find out how sick and evil many people are.

AFTER THEY GET ARRESTED AND PEOPLE SEE SOME OF THE EVIDENCE.

Barron looks adorable, and Melania is gorgeous as always.

THIS ASSHOLE HERE, STARTED 9 OF THE FIRES

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (CBS) โ€” A 32-year-old man has been charged with intentionally starting nine Southern California fires, including one that has chased thousands of residents from mountain communities. The Riverside County District Attorneyโ€™s Office said Brandon McGlover of Temecula was arraigned Friday on 15 felony counts that carry a potential sentence of life in prison.

All nine fires were set Wednesday (July 25) in the Idyllwild, Anza and Sage areas about 100 miles east of Los Angeles. McGlover was arrested the same day in Hemet after arson investigators linked him to the blazes, according to the Riverside County District Attorneyโ€™s office.

One blaze became the Cranston Fire that has grown to 18 square miles in the Idyllwild area of the San Jacinto Mountains and was only about three percent contained by Friday (July 27) morning.

Five homes have been destroyed, more than 4,900 structures are threatened and an estimated 6,000 people have been evacuated in Idyllwild and several neighboring communities. CBS affiliate KFMB-TV reported that the Riverside Sheriffโ€™s station was conducting evacuations of Idyllwild, the Apple Canyon area, the Lake Hemet area, Mountain Center Community, the Hurkey Creek area and Camp Scherman Girl Scout Camp, among other areas.
