A GENUINE SCANDAL: Former ABC News Journalist Terry Moran Claims 2021 Story About COVID Being a Lab Leak Was Spiked by Anthony Fauci(VIDEO)
By Mike LaChance Aug. 16, 2026
Former ABC News journalist Terry Moran dropped a huge bombshell while recently appearing on the ‘Fifth Column’ podcast, claiming that while he was still with the network in 2021 and was going to do a story about Covid-19 being due to a lab leak, the story was spiked at the last minute because of Anthony Fauci.
This raises a lot of important questions. How did Fauci have the power to spike a news story at a major network? Why didn’t this immediately blow up as a huge scandal? Why didn’t Terry Moran raise the alarm about all of this while it was happening?
If you recall, back in the early days of Covid-19, no one was even allowed to suggest that it happened because of a lab leak, even though that was a completely logical explanation. People could lose their social media accounts for even suggesting it.
FOX News has details:
In an interview published Friday by “The Fifth Column” podcast, Moran recalled a time he said he felt the “heavy hand of censorship” at the Disney-owned network.
Moran said in early 2021, he had seen discussions from “smart and serious” people online floating the possibility that COVID had leaked from a lab and that ABC’s “Nightline” allowed him to pursue a story about the theory.
Moran recalled talking to various scientists and Trump administration officials in a piece that he said did not make any conclusive claims but nevertheless “laid it out.”
“We broke a little news that that lab had been funded by the Chinese military, despite the ‘Bat Lady’ [Chinese virologist Shi Zhengli] saying no, it hadn’t… And we kind of laid it out,” Moran said. “And at the end of the day, my own personal feeling was, you know, it’s probably a little bit more likely it’s natural. But if you told me it had leaked from the lab, fine. It’s probably not cooked up. It’s probably not a ‘Frankenvirus.’”
“And the day that it’s supposed to air, it gets reviewed, and it comes back to me, and it is incomprehensible,” Moran continued. “And I had never been angrier. I’m in the booth–”
“Are these lawyers?” podcast co-host Michael Moynihan asked.
“Lawyers, standards and, I was told, Fauci,” Moran responded. “And I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ And they’re going to air and it’s a 15-minute piece or whatever. And I’m cursing and screaming in the the booth.”
This is huge. Moran should be called to testify before congress, along with his bosses at ABC News.
Terry Moran Says ABC News Sent His Lab-Leak Story to Fauci For Approval – The Fifth Column
Former ABC News correspondent Terry Moran recounts what happened to a 2021 Nightline investigation into the COVID lab-leak theory, including why he says the final piece was heavily altered before air. Moran also describes being told that the script had been sent to Anthony Fauci for review.

Parents Sue California School For Taking Students on ‘Field Trip’ to Mosque – Girls Told to Wear Hijabs, Given Qurans
By Cristina Laila Aug. 16, 2026
The very definition of Creeping Sharia – and it’s unconstitutional.
Parents are suing Palo Alto High School in California after the students were taken on a ‘field trip’ to a Mosque last fall and given Qurans as a part of the school’s “Social Justice Pathway” program.
The female students were told to wear an Islamic head covering (hijab).
Parents of former Jewish students, a Hindu parent, and a Zoroastrian parent filed a lawsuit against Palo Alto High School, Palo Alto Unified School District, and the school’s principal, Brent Kline.
The lawsuit alleges that photos of the children were posted online without the parents’ consent.
The children were also exposed to Zahra Billoo, a radical Islamic activist and executive director of the Bay Area’s office of terror-linked CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations).
Zahra Billoo slammed the parents who filed the lawsuit in a statementto The San Francisco Chronicle and accused them of attempting to intimidate the school districts.
“Public schools and the government have an obligation to remain neutral toward religion, but what neutrality does not mean is shielding students entirely,” Billoo said. “The job of educators is to teach students, and expose them to different worldviews. That’s what happened here.”
“One of the most important ways we combat hate is to learn about each other,” Billoo said. “I am concerned that this group of parents not only wants to counteract that for their own children… but is attempting to intimidate schools and school districts from doing necessary work of educating the next generation.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this summer announced his intent to designate CAIR as a terrorist organization.
The California Post reported:
Parents of Bay Area high school students taken on a field trip to a mosque are suing over the visit — alleging students were encouraged to wear hijabs and given Qurans.
A group representing two Jewish parents of Palo Alto High School students, three former Jewish students, a Hindu parent and a Zoroastrian parent is suing the school over claims the children were exposed to the idea that Islam was aligned with social justice work.
The group, Community Members for Religious Neutrality in Public Schools, says students in the school’s Social Justice Pathway program took a trip to the mosque last fall and were handed Qurans while female students were encouraged to wear hijabs, the Islamic face covering viewed by some as oppressive to women.
The lawsuit also alleges photos of the students were taken and posted online without parental consent.
Palo Alto Unified School District and Palo Alto High School principal Brent Kline were also named in the lawsuit.
Public schools across the country are busing American Christian and Jewish children to mosques.
A Texas public school recently came under fire for taking students to an Islamic center to “experience Islam firsthand” – Jihad included?

High-End Russian Escort Plants Trash Bin Bomb That Kills Ukrainian Submarine Commander Defector on Orders of Kiev
By Paul Serran Aug. 16, 2026
Not a word of condemnation of Kiev’s bombing spree by the Western media.
While all the MSM trumpets that Ukraine is ‘turning the tables in the war’ and highlights every single missile and drone strike on Russian territory, there’s one aspect of this war that is literally booming.
The Kiev bombing campaign abroad:be it a Ukrainian oligarch in Monaco, a Russian General in Moscow or a Submarine commander defector in Crimea, the ‘defenders of democracy’ are blasting away, as the West applauds.
This last Thursday, aUkrainian submarine commander who defected to Russia was killed when a Russian high-end escort, acting on Kiev’s orders, blew him up with a bomb hidden inside a trash bin.
The 32-year-old Russian woman, later identified asMargarita Reut, was following orders from Ukraine’s intelligence network to kill Robert Shageev, now an officer in the Kremlin’s Black Sea Fleet, according to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
The New York Post reported:
“Shageev, a Ukrainian deserter who joined the Russian army after the 2014 annexation of Crimea, was walking in Sevastopol at around 10 a.m.when a trash bin beside him exploded, according to Kiev and Moscow outlets.
An explosive device was reportedly placed in a trash can and detonated when the officer walked by on Thursday morning.
The blast was apparently so loud that residents mistook it for a drone strike, similar to the ones plaguing Russian forces in the area, Russian Telegram channels linked to security services reported. The suspected bomber was quickly apprehended, with Russian officialsclaiming she confessed to the killing.”
The Telegraph reported:
“A woman identified as 32-year-old Margarita Reut was arrested in Sevastopol in Crimea on suspicion ofcarrying out the bombing on behalf of Ukrainian special services.
She planted an explosive device in a bin next to a bench while the officer walked down a staircase on Stoletovsky Avenue with a friend, Telegram channels linked to the security services reported.
Mr Shageev was a notorious Ukrainian naval officer who defected to Russia during the 2014 annexation of Crimea. Ukrainian authorities notified him of suspected high treason in July 2022.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the regional governor, did not identify the victim of the attack, but said: ‘This cynical crime against an officer is deeply disturbing.Investigators have established that she acted on the orders of Ukrainian special services and shows no remorse for her actions’.”

US mulls copying Russia’s air defense tech – Military Watch
The Pentagon is reportedly considering next-generation mobile air defense radars modeled on Russia’s S-300 and S-400
Published 16 Aug, 2026 14:14
The US is looking to Russia’s air defense technology as it develops a new generation of mobile radars following losses suffered during the war with Iran, Military Watch has reported. New THAAD radars are reportedlyset to gain a mobile sensor platform function similar to those built into Russia’s S-300 and S-400 systemsfrom the outset.
According to a report published earlier this week, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) destroyed more than $3 billion worth of American air defense radars during the first week of the war on the Islamic Republic launched by Israel and the US in late February.
The losses reportedly included lower-value radars such as the AN/TPS-59, valued at around $70 million, as well as an AN/FPS-132 radar and two AN/TPY-2 X-band mobile radar systems from the THAAD anti-ballisticmissile system, each valued at more than $1 billion. The destruction of the radars dealt a major blow to the situational awareness of US forces and their allies, the military-focused magazine noted.
The reported approach would potentially move away from the traditional Western concept of a self-contained air defense battery, according to the report. Instead, radars would serve as nodes in broader networks, allowing a mobile sensor to detect a target and relay data to remote launchers while remaining physically separate from the interceptors, the magazine noted.
The concept is reportedly in line with Russia’s networked air defense architecture and with the US Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS), which is designed to connect different sensors and weapons.
According to Military Watch, the destruction of the radars reportedly forced theUS and Israel to rely more heavily on ship-based sensors and an AN/TPY-2 radar stationed in Turkey.
Earlier this month,The Wall Street Journal reported that Iranian strikes had caused up to $13 billion in damage to US military assets and facilitiesin the Middle East. Since the start of the US-Israeli war on the Islamic Republic, Tehran has carried out more than 2,000 air, missile, and drone strikes, damaging at least 20 sites in eight countries used by the US military. Iran has also damaged or destroyed more than 42 US military aircraft, several while parked at air bases.

Israel wants ChatGPT to push its Gaza narrative – Politico
The country has launched a campaign to shape how AI models answer questions about its war on Hamas and the IDF amid declining public support in the US
Published 16 Aug, 2026 10:34
Israel has spent tens of millions of dollars to boost its image in the US by seeking to influence how AI platforms portray the country, Politico has reported.
US public attitudes toward Israel have deteriorated in recent years, first over its response to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks and more recently over the US-Israeli war on Iran and its cost to taxpayers. Six in ten US adults now view Israel somewhat or very unfavorably, according to a June Pew Research Center poll, up from 53% last year and 42% in 2022. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is even less popular, with 65% expressing little or no confidence in his policies.
In a report on Friday, Politico detailed a $100,000 Israeli campaign aimed at influencing how large-language models such as ChatGPT answer questions about Gaza and the Israel-Hamas war.The effort centers on the Hanover Institute for Public Policy, a website publishing anonymous reports on anti-Semitism and geopolitical issues. The project was set upthrough French PR firm Havas Media, which handles much of Israel’s US influence workregistered under the US Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), and its subcontractor, ad agency Piro Inc, on behalf of the Israel Government Advertising Agency (LaPam).
The Hanover Institute describes its work as “documentary, not declarative” and says its research is purely academic. Politico, however, cited FARA documents filed with the US Justice Department last week linking more than a dozen of its articles to a PR campaign that involved “the creation and dissemination of factual, source-supported informational materials” intended to “educate” the US public about Israel.
The website hosts multiple unattributed reports framed as questions, including “Is Torture of Palestinian Prisoners a War Crime?” and “Who Is the Aggressor in the Israel-Palestine Conflict?”, which Politico said suggests the material was designed to be picked up and cited by LLMs. The outlet also said technical markers linked the website to Res, a Seattle-based AI startup that helps clients get recommended by AI models. The link was confirmed by Res CEO Hai Tran in an email.
While Piro’s FARA filings do not explicitly identify influencing LLMs as a goal, Politico said both ChatGPT and Perplexity cited Hanover Institute material in response to neutral queries about Gaza and Israel.
It is not Israel’s first Havas-linked effort to sway public opinion, including through AI. According to a WSJ investigation published last month, the firm previously hired former campaign manager for US President Donald Trump, Brad Parscale, for a $46.5 million campaign that included pro-Israel AI-generated messages targeting Americans, as well as websites and posts designed to generate more favorable responses from AI platforms. Last fall, Responsible Statecraft reported that Havas Media also managed an “Influencer Campaign” which paid $900,000 for producing Israel-friendly content.
US frustration with Israel has extended beyond the general public, with politicians also becoming increasingly critical. Last month, more than 100 House Democrats backed an amendment that would have cut $3.3 billion in US aid to Israel. The measure failed due to Republican opposition but highlighted a growing partisan divide: just over two years ago, only 37 House Democrats backed a similar effort.
Trump has been largely supportive of Israel but has repeatedly criticized Netanyahu, who slammed the ceasefire with Iran announced by the US president earlier this summer and rejected his 15-point Board of Peace plan for Gaza. Trump also has yet to endorse Netanyahu ahead of the October election and has repeatedly dodged questions about his re-election, according to media reports. Two senior US officials told Axios this week that while Trump likes Netanyahu personally, he has grown frustrated with his policies and called Netanyahu “his own worst enemy.”

South Korea proposes dialogue to end war with North
President Lee Jae Myung has called for talks to formally end the Korean War and discuss ways to halt the advancement of Pyongyang’s nuclear program
Published 15 Aug, 2026 23:58 | Updated
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Saturday called on Pyongyang to engage in dialogue to formally end the Korean War, which has remained unresolved for more than 70 years.
The two countries have technically continued to be at war since the 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty. Lee, who became South Korean president last year after his predecessor Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached over his attempt to declare martial law, has sought to improve relations with North Korea and its ally China, which had deteriorated under Yoon.
Lee made the proposal in a speech at a ceremony marking the 81st Liberation Day, which commemorates Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945.
“Let us put aside our intentions to threaten each other and begin discussions to end the long-running war as the directly involved parties,” Lee said, adding that they could also discuss “effective ways to halt the advancement of the North’s nuclear capabilities.”
Lee said he hoped that the two countries would “sit face-to-face for peaceful coexistence and mutual growth,” and that such talks could provide a forum for discussing ways to curb North Korea’s nuclear development.
North Korea has yet to respond to Lee’s proposal.
In April, President Lee Jae Myung apologized to North Korea over drone incursions into the country. South Korean prosecutors indicted three people – a National Intelligence Service employee, a military officer, and a graduate student – for sending unmanned aerial vehicles into North Korea between September 2025 and January 2026. Seoul had previously denied official involvement in the incursions, saying that they were carried out by civilians.
In March, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un described South Korea as the “most hostile state,” vowing to “thoroughly reject and disregard it.” Seoul would “pay the price” for its provocations, he stated.

NATO scrambles warplanes to shoot down drone over Latvia
Ukraine was carrying out a major UAV raid against Russia’s Leningrad region at the time
Published 14 Aug, 2026 14:56 | Upda
A NATO fighter jet has destroyed a drone that entered Latvian airspace, the US-led bloc has said.
The announcement came as Ukraine carried out a major UAV attack against Russia’s northwestern Leningrad Region on Friday.A total of 54 drones were shot down or interceptedabove the region overnight, local governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said. A fire broke out at the key Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga during the raid, but it was swiftly extinguished, according to the governor.
There have been multiple reports in recent months of Ukrainian drones violating the airspace of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland, or crashing inside those countries, while on their way to Russia.
NATO spokesperson Allison Hart said on Friday that “this morning, we saw Italian Eurofighters based in Lithuania and Turkish F-16s out of Estonia scramble, with one Eurofighter downing a drone over Latvian airspace.”
The Latvian Defense Ministry also confirmed the incident, saying in a statement that “fighter jets participating in the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission successfully shot down a foreign unmanned aerial vehicle.”
The ministry claimed that the UAV “entered Latvia as a result of Russian electronic warfare activities.”
“Similar incidents involving foreign unmanned aerial vehicles entering or approaching Latvian airspace may occur” as long as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, the statement added.
Last week, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania issued a joint demarche after Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzinsaid Moscow had “verified data,” showing that Baltic states had provided air corridors for Ukrainian drones attacking Russian civilian infrastructure. The governments in Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius denied Galuzin’s accusations as “completely unfounded.”
On Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Russian military and intelligence services “see where things fly from and how they fly,” referring to incoming UAVs.
“This is well-known to everyone, and we are not going to prove anything to anyone here,” Peskov stressed.
Moscow previously warned that if Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania knowingly help to facilitate Ukrainian drone strikes, Russia could consider them complicit in the attacks and would have the right to self-defense under the UN Charter.

Trade court upholds Trump’s closure of ‘de minimis’ loophole
PUBLISHED THU, AUG 13 20263:12
KEY POINTS
• A federal trade court upheld President Donald Trump’s elimination of the “de minimis” loophole, which allowed low-value goods to be imported to the U.S. tax free.
• Trump, a major proponent of tariffs and other forms of protectionism, celebrated the continued closure of the exemption, whichhe claims has cost the U.S. billions of dollars in uncollected tax revenue.
A federal trade court on Thursday upheld President Donald Trump’s elimination of the “de minimis” exemption, which allowed goods valued under $800 to be imported to the U.S. tax free.
Trump, a major proponent of tariffs and other forms of protectionism, celebrated the continued closure of the loophole, which he claims has cost the U.S. billions of dollars in uncollected import-tax revenue.
Attorneys for the plaintiff, a Michigan-based auto-parts distributor, did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the ruling.
The company, Detroit Axle, had sued the Trump administration in May 2025, more than three months after Trump signed an executive order rescinding the de minimis exemption.
The plaintiff argued that Trump lacked the legal authority to scrap the loophole under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, or IEEPA.
Trump had used the same law to try to impose sweeping “liberation day” tariffs on nearly every country in the world last year. In February, the Supreme Court struck those dutiesdown on the grounds that IEEPA did not authorize them.
But in Thursday’s ruling, a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of International Trade found that the statute does allow Trump to scrap the de minimis exemption.
“In reaching this conclusion, we find that the President’s power to ‘nullify [or] void . . . exercising any . . . privilege’does not run afoul of separation of powers principles,” they wrote in the order, quoting the law.
They concluded that, unlike in key cases challenging Trump’s global tariffs, the rescission of the duty-free loophole “is not an exercise of the power of the purse” and “is not an exercise of the power to legislate.” In striking down his global duties, the Supreme Court said Trump needed congressional approval.
The de minimis exemption was heavily exploited in the retail industry, especially by e-commerce giantslike Shein and Temu that sell large quantities of low-price clothes and other goods.
To take advantage of the exemption, some companies shipped individual packages directly from Chinese manufacturers to American consumers. Larger companies set up warehouses in Canada and Mexico and then sent individual shipments over the border one by one, allowing them to avoid costly tariffs, regardless of where the goods were manufactured.
Economists have warned that ending the exemption could disproportionately impact lower-income and minority American consumers who buy inexpensive goods online.
But Trump, in a Truth Social post Thursday afternoon, called the trade court’s ruling a “BIG WIN” on “one of the most DESPICABLE loopholes in American Trade Policy.”
De minimis “became a giant loophole for TARIFF Cheats” andwas exploited by criminals shipping drugs and other illegal products into the U.S., Trump wrote.
“With the stroke of my mighty pen — NO AUTOPEN!!! — we ended this ridiculous giveaway, and made Foreign Goods play by the rules,” Trump boasted. “The Importers sued. Today, THEY LOST.”
