Here is a curious story. While doing research I came across a history of the Jewish family of Ilfelds in NM. One of them was going to Europe so the local priest asked him to have the Pope bless a bunch of rosaries. He did and returned the blessed rosaries.
Now why would some Jewish merchant from NM even entertain the thought of getting an audience with the pope?
This would have been in the late 1800's early 1900's.
