A state gives us boundaries.
Those boundaries allow us to form and establish our own state governments.
Having 50 states gives us a plethora and array of ideas, and allows a representation of ideas to be tangible with local bodies of elected Americans.
If one state doesn't suit you, there are other states that might be formidable to your local ideals and political associations that best fit your constitutional outcome.
