They burned an entire mountain range in my area this summer. Said it was for fire breaks. You don't create a fire break 5 miles ahead of a fire. They were using drones to set the fires on the ridges to let it burn.
And they wonder why the bears are a problem.
It wasn't spreading fast. The fire was basically contained at 19000 acres. They burned another 12000 acres as back burn.
Forest Service. They burned it all from service road to service road. Only the east end wasn't burned because the rains came. Now there is a fire there and they are watching it because nothing is threatened.
