First Came the Measles Deaths. The Causes Can Come Later.

Pennsylvania announced this week what it called the first two “measles-associated deaths” in the Commonwealth in 35 years. Within hours, those carefully chosen words were disappearing. NBC News told readers that two unvaccinated people had “die[d] of measles.” Other news organizations similarly reported that people had died “from” or “of” measles. Governor Josh Shapiro quickly turned the deaths into an attack on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., accusing Kennedy and the Trump administration of spreading misinformation with “real-life consequences.” There was just one rather important problem with this extraordinarily convenient narrative: Pennsylvania itself had not established that either person died from measles.
That is not my interpretation of some obscure epidemiological distinction. It comes directly from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Department press secretary Neil Ruhland explained that the state uses the term “measles-associated” when laboratory or epidemiological evidence of measles is present, but the official cause of death remains under investigation. In other words, at the time Pennsylvania announced two historic measles-associated deaths, the official causes of those deaths had apparently not yet been determined.
That changes this story considerably. Measles can kill. It can cause pneumonia, encephalitis, and other serious complications, particularly among vulnerable people. There is nothing controversial about acknowledging that. But that is entirely different from announcing two deaths whose causes remain under investigation and watching “measles-associated” rapidly become “died of measles” in the national press. The former is a provisional public-health classification. The latter is a causal assertion. Somewhere between the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the headlines delivered to millions of Americans, that distinction largely disappeared.
Pennsylvania could resolve much of the confusion by releasing a modest amount of anonymized clinical information. Instead, the Department has declined to provide the ages of the deceased, their places of death, relevant medical histories, comorbidities, clinical courses, or the complications that supposedly connect measles to their deaths. Governor Shapiro and Health Secretary Debra Bogen would not even say whether either person was an infant (or elderly), whether either was pregnant, or whether they belonged to one of Lancaster County’s Plain communities. None of that requires publishing names or addresses. Age ranges, relevant comorbidities and causes of death are routinely reported without identifying individual patients.

Imagine entering the US illegally and enjoying the fruits of the American economy for years, only to wake up one day in the darkest of Africa in a country known for cannibalism? The strategy might be ugly, but it might also be ingenious.
Last year, illegal Cuban immigrant Yasmany Moreno de Armas was working and living in Florida. He's now in the Central African Republic, after the Trump administration sent him and dozens of deportees to the deeply impoverished and conflict-ridden nation.
The 31-year-old said he only learned the U.S. government was deporting him to Africa after he arrived there in late July, alongside detainees from countries across the globe, including Ecuador, Honduras, Serbia, Russia and Vietnam.
"We cannot leave, we don't have documents and we're suffering and missing our families, in a continent we don't know…"
Armas claims he committed no crime, but he committed the crime of invading US borders without citizenship. The ongoing narrative from the political left is that this particular crime somehow doesn't count.
Illegals shipped to Africa are appealing to the media to plead their case, though there's not a whole lot anyone can do about their situation. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) the US government has the right to deport illegal migrants with expediency. And technically, ICE isn't required to take these migrants back to the countries they originally came from.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on Wednesday that officials in Pennsylvania may have made up deaths that they described as associated with measles.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said on Wednesday that Pennsylvania had recorded the first deaths related to measles in 35 years.
"The announcement appears to have been premature, and the deaths may even have been altogether fabricated by one of the Governor's hopeful staffers," Kennedy wrote in a post on X. "The Lancaster County Coroner says that it has no record of any measles deaths. State law requires that all measles deaths be reported to the coroner."
Lancaster County Coroner Steve Diamantoni told news outlets and a county commissioner that his office had not handled any deaths from measles. The office did see an infant who died shortly after birth from spleen laceration, and an autopsy determined that the primary cause of death was the laceration, Diamantoni told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The pathologist who conducted the autopsy did not feel the death was related to measles, the coroner said. The office, which declined to comment to The Epoch Times, is still investigating the cause of the ruptured spleen.
Kennedy also told reporters in an unrelated press conference in Florida that Pennsylvania officials had not provided information about the deaths to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"We're trying to figure out … who those deaths were and whether they actually happened," he said.
Both individuals who died tested positive for measles prior to their deaths and were not vaccinated, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. One was an infant, the agency said, pointing to Diamantoni's comments.
The agency said it uses the term "measles-associated" for deaths "when laboratory or epidemiologic evidence of measles is present, but the disease may not be assessed by the medical certifier or coroner to be the immediate cause of death."
Dr. Debra Bogen, Pennsylvania's health secretary, said, "As a pediatrician with more than 30 years of caring for children, I have thoroughly reviewed the case investigation information and sadly can confirm that there were two recent measles-associated deaths in Lancaster County, which were reported to the CDC's measles response team early Tuesday morning."
Pennsylvania officials have not disclosed any additional details about the second death beyond the person testing positive for measles and being unvaccinated. Bogen and her department did say that not all deaths are referred to a coroner under Pennsylvania law.

Police raided the apartment where Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son lives in Minneapolis.
Firearms and ammunition were seized at the scene and police arrested another man who is not Omar’s son.
22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County jail, Alpha News reported.
Per Alpha News:
Multiple law enforcement sources say a search warrant was conducted Tuesday night on the apartment where Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s son lives in Minneapolis. Guns and ammunition were recovered from the scene.
In response to our questions about what took place at the apartment, MPD confirmed another man, who is not the Congresswoman’s son, was arrested earlier in the day.
Abdulrahman Abdi was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge.

As the BBC reported, the US Geological Survey revealed the flash floods were triggered by a massive high altitude glacial collapse in a mountainous area near the Nepal-Tibet border.
This triggered seismic activity and catastrophic downstream impacts along the Trishuli River, while floodwaters spread across several regions in Nepal.
CNN notes that major swaths of ice up in the Himalayas are melting, and rocky mountainsides are becoming less solid and more fluid.
This has made Nepal more vulnerable to disasters like this.
The United States Geological Survey also reported recording a 4.4-magnitude quake around the time the security footage was taken at the Nepal-Tibet border.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, several videos went viral showing a depiction of the Biblical flood in the landlocked nation.
As one can see in the videos, the catastrophic flash flooding materializes as a massive surge of water descends from the mountains and destroys a border crossing building, as dozens of terrified people can be seen running for their lives.

New Zealand: Deaths up, fertility down; is this the legacy of covid “vaccines”?

New Zealand mortality rates increased by 1.9% in the year ending June 2026, meaning deaths were 3.8% above pre-covid “pandemic” levels.
Additionally, fertility rates reached a historic low, falling 3.8% to 28% below replacement levels.
Dr. Guy Hatchard proposes that these negative health trends are due to a decline in immunity that is affecting the entire population. He calls for Health NZ to investigate the causes, specifically comparing health outcomes between covid vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

The births and deaths figures for the year ended June 2026 have just been released by StatsNZ. Compared to the previous year:
Births were down 3.6%
Deaths were up 1.9%
Fertility per woman was down 3.8%
Infant mortality was up by 2.7%, although this last statistic was inflated to some extent by late registrations.
The rate of deaths per thousand population had been declining since a peak of 7.59 in 2022, falling to 7.02 in 2025. The 2026 figures reversed this trend with a rise to 7.10. This compares to the 2015 – 2019 average of 6.84, meaning that deaths are currently running at 3.8% above pre-pandemic levels. This equates to an additional 1,411 deaths in the year to June 2026, which would not have been expected if pre-pandemic trends had continued.
The New Zealand (“NZ”) fertility rate has been declining every year since 2008 and is now at a historic low. The 2026 figures are 28% below levels necessary to maintain a population. Despite this, the NZ population is continuing to grow as a result of net immigration.
The most concerning figure in the latest data is therefore the upward movement in the rate of mortality. This increase in levels of excess mortality is very concerning. Although the 2026 rise does not yet amount to a trend, it should be a red flag. It points to a drop in the underlying level of immunity which is affecting the whole population.
In this light, it remains disturbing that Health NZ are not closely investigating the possible causes. A comparison of health outcomes of the covid-vaccinated with the unvaccinated is long overdue. Studies published overseas which we have covered have pointed to differences in rates of cancer and cardiac problems, for example. These have disproportionately affected younger age groups.
