I am deeply saddened by the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty Queen Sonja, to the new King, His Majesty King Haakon VIII, to Her Majesty Queen Mette-Marit, to Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, to the Royal Family, and to the people of Norway during this time of profound grief. I send them the prayers and warm thoughts of the Venezuelan people.
I will always cherish the extraordinary warmth with which Oslo welcomed us in December. Venezuelans will forever remember the solidarity we received from the Norwegian people during our darkest hours.
I know that the memory and legacy of King Harald will forever serve as an inspiration and a guiding light for his family and the nation of Norway.
