The children's ages ranged from 1 to 4, Kingston police said.
"The Kingston Police Department started investigation approximately three weeks ago after we received word of potential abuse occurring at Oh Nana's day care on Cole Street in Kingston," said Lt. Michael Skowyra.
According to court records obtained by NBC10 Boston, Rezendes' husband was the one who sent a series of videos inside the day care facility to authorities.
Those videos, police say, showed multiple instances of abuse.
"Slamming children to the ground, slamming children on counters, allegedly locking a child in the attic," Skowyra said.
In an interview with police, one child who attended the day care told investigators, "she hitted me and she threw me," once so hard that there was "bad blood," according to authorities.
The investigation, which involved video evidence, witness interviews and more, was conducted with the Children's Advocacy Center at the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. The state's departments of Children and Families and Early Education and Care conducted their own investigations, leading Oh Nana's Daycare to lose its license.
"If you can't trust the people that are taking care of your kids, I don't know what the answer is there. It's pretty sad," said one neighbor, who did not want to share her name or go on camera.
The neighbor said she's had concerns about Rezendes for a while.
"Just through the years, just her behavior, everything. She's just not a good person," the neighbor said. "I'm surprised that it finally happened, but I'm not sorry about it. At all. Everything that happens to her, she deserves."
