Divers recently discovered a 2,400 year-old shipwreck off the coast of an island in Greece’s Cyclades, according to Greece’s Ministry of Culture.

According to reports, a “private individual” gave divers a tip on the wreck, and it was discovered between 128 and 144 feet underwater. Officials say the cargo included hundreds of “pointed-bottom commercial amphorae”— as many as 650. These were commonly used to transport goods including olive oil and wine, although it remains unclear what these particular artifacts were carrying.

Photos of the debris shows the containers in a heap on the sea floor.

According to Fox News, “Archaeologists identified three distinct types: Mende, Peparethos, and Solokha 2” and took one of each type for sampling.

“The chronological framework for these amphorae is set between the late 5th and early 4th centuries BC. A section of a lead anchor stock was also discovered at the shipwreck site, along with a small number of stones that may be associated with the ship’s ballast. Preliminary estimates indicate a count of approximately 600–650 amphorae,” a translation of the announcement from Greece’s Ministry of Culture reads.

“This particularly interesting find enriches our knowledge of trade and navigation during the Late Classical period. Further study of the find will obviously yield additional interesting information regarding both its cargo and its origin,” the translated releasecontinues.

Fox News noted that divers also discovered “part of a lead anchor stock and several stones that may have been used as ballast to help stabilize the vessel.”

This discovery follows another recent shipwreck discovery off the coast of Sicily. That discovery also involved“hundreds of clay amphora,” according to reports.

Dutch influencer Samuel Onuha (26), the founder of the clothing brand ICON.

Amsterdam, was arrested on the Greek island of Mykonos for public nudity. His brother Ruben Onuha confirmed the arrest on Instagram,saying his brother may have suffered a psychotic episode.

Images are circulating online showing Onuha walking naked in a square on the Greek island. According to Greek media, he also slapped and pushed his genitals against a statue of former Prime Minister Konstantinos Karamanlis.

Brother Ruben (24) confirmed on Instagram that the footage was of his brother. According to him, Samuel had a psychotic episode before wandering off naked. “It came completely unexpectedly, and we still do not fully understand how or why it happened,” he wrote. “He was not himself, which led to the behavior seen in those videos.” Ruben added that Samuel is safe and recovering.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told RTL Nieuws that it had not yet received a request for consular assistance. According to the broadcaster, the local authorities are investigating whether Onuha was under the influence of drugs or alcohol

I blame myself for this whole debacle.

Back in 2014, Milo reached out and begged me for a job, right as we were starting up Breitbart London. I made the mistake of giving him a chance. That’s where his entire life on the right began.

His “Kernel Mag” (a tech blog in east London) had just gone tits up, but he had a flair for the acerbic and for noticing.

Also, I was desperate for columnists.

But within WEEKS, he was emailing the U.S. bosses demanding MY job, and claiming he could do it better. He was rebuffed, of course. I remember one email he got from Bannon calling him “marginalia” and saying he wishes he could edit like me. Bannon forwarded it on to me for a chuckle. He could be cruel like that. But I enjoyed the banter.

Milo went on to insert himself in every room and relationship in the company until he finally got what he wanted: his own staff and his own “Tech” vertical on the site. As a senior editor, however, I could see what this was really all about. He wasn’t writing his own columns. He had staff draft them and leave “[INSERT MILOISM]” prompts for him to come in and top and tail the articles.

I could see it all live in the site’s back end.

Then came the money, as Rebekah Mercer and others shelled out MILLIONS to tour him around the U.S. as some kind of conservative firebrand, which I knew he wasn’t.

I felt so ashamed of everything to do with him that when the story about his excuses for priestly pederasty finally got aired in 2017, I was the first to tell the company bosses: he has to go.

And so he went, and I hoped that would be the last of him. But once again he minced into the arms of the unsuspecting: first Laura Loomer, then Marjorie Taylor Greene, and finally, Kanye West.

Some time last year he began tweeting about me again, making all kinds of lurid and false accusations, just months after he had dined at my DC restaurant Butterworth’s, and lauded its beauty on his X account.

But as he was needlessly abusing me again, his own fate was being sealed. A friend at the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) reached out and let me know: “Milo has been living in the US illegally.”

I was shocked, though I suppose I ought not to have been. A source at the State Department confirmed it, when I enquired, and so began his deportation saga.

For those who haven’t followed along: it appears that not only was he publicly lying about his immigration status in the United States, but that he even missed court proceedings on the matter.

Finally, I got word last month, that he was about to be deported. On Thursday night, I got a call. As overly dramatic as it may seem.

“We got him. In Louisiana.”

And yet, of course, he’s certain to resurface in Britain shortly. Perhaps as an advisor to Rupert Lowe, or perhaps as a contestant on some third tier reality TV show.

So in advance I say to Britain: my apologies. For all of it.

Trump’s triumphal arch will cause a slew of ‘adverse’ effects, administration admits — but its plans are staying. Fri August 28, 2026 1/2

President Donald Trump’s proposed 250-foottriumphal arch will have “adverse” effects on dozens of historical landmarks, the National Park Service found.

Nonetheless, the agency concluded in a report released Friday that the arch must stay at theproposed site on the banks of the Potomac River as the project is “inherently location dependent” and “not interchangeable” with any other placement.

“A relocated arch elsewhere in Washington, D.C. or Virginia would constitute a materially different commemorative project,” the report said. “For this reason, alternative locations outside Memorial Circle are not reasonable avoidance alternatives.”

Among the adverse effects to surrounding landmarks, the 133-page report found that the arch would alter the “design continuity” of iconic Washington settings and would alter views of surrounding monuments.

The National Parks Service is part of the Department of the Interior that oversees the land where the president wants to construct the arch.

Its report comes as legal wrangling continues over the proposed arch. Critics, including historical conservation experts, veterans’ groups and the public have raised objections to the project due to concerns over preservation, changes to the Washington landscape and the limits of Trump’s authorities.

Location, location, location

The proposed site of the arch is on a traffic circle, Memorial Circle, on an island in the Potomac River directly across from Arlington National Cemetery on the Virginia side and the Lincoln Memorial on the Washington D.C. side.

“The same characteristics that make Memorial Circle sensitive from a preservation perspective are also the characteristics that make it the historically appropriate location for the undertaking,” NPS said.

“The project’s effects therefore could not be fully avoided without either relocating the Arch away from the historically identified site or eliminating the principal commemorative feature, both of which would fail to meet the undertaking’s purpose and need.”

The analysis disclosed that at least three dozen historical landmarks would be affected by the arch, with the most serious “adverse” effects concentrated on six landmarks near the arch, including Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial corridor and Arlington House, which is a memorial to Robert E. Lee featuring the home where he lived before he left to lead the Confederate army during the Civil War.

When completed, the arch will be seen all the way to the US Capitol, the Georgetown waterfront and the Pentagon, among other viewpoints.

“Every time the Park Service looks harder at this site – the ceremonial gateway between Washington and Arlington National Cemetery – it finds more historic places this arch would stand in front of,” said Ed Stierli of the National Parks Conservation Association. “Widening that assessment is the right thing to do, and it makes it that much harder to justify a 250-foot arch here.”

NPS said it did consider different alternatives – including a smaller arch, a relocation of the arch altogether, a no-build option and eliminating the proposed statues on top. But none of those alternatives were taken up because they would either have “greater impacts to historic properties or would not meet the location-dependent purpose of the undertaking,” the agency concluded.

It also proposed a long list of efforts that could be undertaken to “mitigate” the effects of the arch including creating a meadow management program for nearby Lady Bird Johnson Park and developing an interpretive program on the Lincoln-Arlington House corridor, among others. However, the report acknowledged that “mitigation measures that document, interpret, or compensate for adverse effects after they occur do not negate an adverse effect finding.”

Charles Birnbaum of The Cultural Landscape Foundation and among a chief critic of the project, said: “If the goal of the federal review is to ‘avoid, minimize, or mitigate’ negative impacts on designated cultural and historic resources, the administration has opted for willful blindness, knowing full well that the Arch will forever disrupt the symbolic and visual connections between the Lincoln Memorial, the Kennedy gravesite and Eternal Flame, and Arlington National Cemetery, and scores of revered sites throughout the area.”

Birnbaum told CNN, “Congress, through its failure to act, is shamefully complicit.”

Trump first proposed the arch in 2025, with plans released in April of this year. It has since been mired in disputes.

A high-profile lawsuit from Vietnam veterans and preservationists has argued that the project would dishonor the service of veterans by obstructing the view to Arlington National Cemetery and “would degrade their personal experience when visiting Arlington Cemetery or traveling around Memorial Circle and on the Memorial Avenue Corridor.” It also raised concerns over potential hazards related to its location near a runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

However, plans for the arch have been marching their way through approvals in independent agencies stacked with Trump loyalists responsible for oversight of construction in the nation’s capital.

The project was approved by the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) and has a preliminary green light from the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC), the two key federal agencies which oversee architecture and design changes in DC.

The NCPC has not given final go ahead yet for the project.

An upcoming September meeting of the commission was widely expected to be when the project would be reviewed for final approval, yet it is not on the September agenda.

Zelensky passes buck over civilian deaths after drone depot blast

Following a Russian strike the Ukrainian leader has ordered a criminal probe into the storage of explosive UAV parts in a residential area

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky hasacknowledged that a drone depot was set up in a residential areaoutside Kiev after a Russian UAV strike obliterated the facility. Secondary detonations of explosives stored there caused severe damage to the surrounding area, killing at least 27 people in nearby homes.

Later on Saturday, the regional authorities reported that the death tollhas climbed to 37.

In a post on his Telegram channel, Zelensky wrote that a warehouse in the village of Milaya had been struck by Russian kamikaze drones, leading to a “subsequent detonation” and “significant destruction of the surrounding infrastructure.” The latter included residential buildings and a nursing home for the elderly, according to the Ukrainian leader.

“Those who allowed this to happen must definitely be held responsible for their decisions,” Zelensky said, adding that the authorities have launched a probe into criminal negligence.

“There cannot be ammunition near houses or other residential buildings,” he concluded.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that overnight its strike drones destroyed several facilities used by the Ukrainian military in Kiev and the adjacent Kiev Region. According to the statement, the depot in the village of Milaya was operated by one of Ukraine’s top arms manufacturers, Fire Point, and contained components of fixed-wing UAVs, which Kiev is using for long-range attacks on Russian territory.

In the wake of the latest disaster in Milaya, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry ordered a nationwide audit of all sites where weapons and munitions are being stored.

This is not the first time Ukrainian civilians have been killed following Russian strikes on such facilities in residential areas.

In early July, an ammunition depot in the city of Vishnyovoe in Kiev Region came under Russian attack, causing huge secondary explosions. As a result, at least seven people lost their lives and around 200 private homes were damaged, with dozens more evacuated.

Back then, Zelensky and other senior Ukrainian officials similarly pledged to end the practice of storing munitions in the middle of residential areas.

Placing military targets in civilian population areas is strictly prohibited under international law and is considered a form of using non-combatants as human shields.

Türkiye summons Kiev’s envoy over attacks on Black Sea shipping

Two Turkish-operated commercial vessels were targeted by Ukrainian drones off the Russian port of Tuapse

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has summoned Ukraine’s ambassador after two Turkish-operated vessels were attacked in the Black Sea, raising concerns over the safety of civilian shipping in the waterway.

The incidents occurred earlier this week off the Russian port of Tuapse. On Wednesday, the cargo ship Lider Bordo Mavi was hit by at least three Ukrainian drones, leaving five crew members injured and setting the vessel ablaze.

The following day, another vessel, the Lider Kocatepe, was dispatched to assist the damaged ship. It came under drone attack en route, sustaining damage and forcing it to return to the Turkish port of Samsun.

Kiev’s envoy to Ankara, Naryman Dzhelialov, was summoned on Saturday. During the meeting, Turkish diplomats conveyed their concerns over the incidents and the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.

“During the meeting, Türkiye warned about the absolute need to ensure the safety of people, of assets, of navigation, and of the environment in the Black Sea,” the ministry said in a statement.

In recent weeks, Kiev has stepped up attacks on civilian shipping, attacking vessels heading to and from Russian ports and repeatedly striking Turkish-linked ships. Moscow has mounted a retaliatory campaign against Ukrainian military-linked shipping, heavily disrupting the country’s Black Sea ports and effectively bringing all marine traffic to a halt. The retaliatory strikes have reportedly affected Turkish-linked vessels as well.

Ankara has repeatedly raised concerns over the situation, urging both sides to stop the ongoing strikes. Early in August, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for a “moratorium” on such attacks. “The conflict has spread across the whole Black Sea,” he said at the time, claiming that both Moscow and Kiev have been “attacking all commercial shipping without distinction.”
