President Donald J. Trump on Friday announced his administration had struck a deal with Venezuela that, in theory, should help lower the rising cost of gasoline in the United States. The arrangement, Trump said, gives the United States control of 65 million barrels of crude from Venezuela’s plentiful reserves and a 100-year lease on 17 tatterdemalion wells in the Orinoco Oil Belt, a 21,000-square-mile petroleum and heavy crude reserve in eastern Venezuela.

 

While Venezuela has the world’s largest proven reserves (~300 million barrels), its output collapsed in the 1990s due to decaying infrastructure—busted pipelines, corroded storage tanks, water-fouled fuel, and myriad issues that would require 15 years and 183 billion dollars to fix. Analysts have described the system as being in a “catastrophic” state. Rebuilding infrastructure actually to profit from oil is far harder than announcing control of the reserves, they say. Yet President Trump said this goal is possible without burdening American taxpayers.

 

There are, however, additional logistical and strategic issues at hand. Following the controversial but perfectly legal apprehension of Nicholas Maduro in January, big oil executives visited Orinoco and Lake Maracaibo Basin oil belts to assess their worth. Almost immediately, pro-Maduro gangsters and mercenaries, namely the Collectivos and Cartel de los Soles, Maduro loyalists, ambushed and slaughtered 15 Shell and Chevron officials. The fortunate ones died quickly—two bullets to the chest and one to the head, execution style. The unfortunate ones died terribly, doused in gasoline and set afire. If that weren’t horrific enough, Shell Oil corporate officer Julie Stowers was found beheaded and flayed open, hanging upside down from a tree.

Now, the Trump administration claims Venezuela is safe for the unnamed private company that Trump has authorized to evaluate the wells and formulate a plan to restore them to full-capacity production. This impetuous plan was approved by Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, and Delcy Rodríguez, Venezuela’s lunkheaded and politically inept interim leader.

 

According to our sources, which include members of the US Special Forces Team that dragged Maduro out of bed and White Hats who successfully exfiltrated Americans out of the Caracas fire zone, Maduro’s brigands, numbering 15,000-20,000, still exert control over the country’s oil fields and have enough men and weapons to repel anything short of total aerial bombardment.

 

“Let’s call a spade a spade,” a White Hat general told Real Raw News. “The war secretary wants America to believe he’s winning everywhere, but that ain’t the truth, in Iran or Venezuela.

 

There’s a reason the oil people have given Venezuela wide berth—it’s ‘cause their men get killed. And, yeah, Maduro’s in jail—but it ain’t no fucking secret that even people behind bars get messages out of the yard.”

 

Per our source, Maduro’s paramilitary forces captured or killed 30 US intelligence specialists and Special Operations forces that had infiltrated the country this year.

 

“To make this work, we’ll need huge boots on the ground to protect reserves and fields. And there will be casualties, on our side too; no way around it. No war’s ever been won without friendly fatalities, and, trust me on this one, if we try to lock down the oil fields, Marines will die,” our source said. You can’t fight off a 20,000-man force without casualties,” our source said.

 

Ultimately, the US will control the reserves and fields—but at what cost? Even now, US oil capitalists linked to Venezuelan oilman Alejandro Betancourt say they won’t return to the country until Maduro’s paramilitary has been routed or is all dead.
