Dog-Eaten Meat, Rats and Urine: 10,000 Complaints Expose Filthy LA Street Food Conditions
Far-left Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has ordered the LAPD to stop issuing criminal citations against street vendors, including those operating without required permits.
An estimated 50,000 street vendors operate throughout Los Angeles, yet just 687 active vending permits were recorded as of September 2024. Only 53 were food-vending permits.
The California Post reported that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health received 9,746 complaints involving street vendors between 2023 and early 2026.
