Where Are the Aliens? Right Here, But We Are Slow to Recognize That!

Below is the transcript of an interview that I had last night with Jesse Weber Live on NewsNation, also available in video format here. Jesse’s questions are marked with JW and my answers with AL.

JW: It’s a big universe out there. Some scientists say it is infinitely large. So, with so much possibility, why haven’t any of our neighbors said hi yet? By neighbors, I, of course, mean extraterrestrials.
The fact that none of them have decided to introduce themselves is very rude, at least to our knowledge. This is something that has puzzled scientists since the 1950s.
I am talking about Nobel Prize laureate, Enrico Fermi, one of the fathers of the atomic bomb, who — given the number of possible planets and given the probability of those planets developing intelligent life, he theorized that Earth should have been visited by aliens with advanced technology not once, but several times over. So, this gap between the likelihood of advanced alien civilizations existing, and the fact that we haven’t been contacted yet, is what’s now called Fermi’s paradox.
And there have been several theoretical solutions to this paradox. One says that aliens are talking, we just don’t have the proper technology to hear them. For example, they could be using gravitational waves.
There’s also the theory that other civilizations may be too young to have the ability to travel or communicate between the stars, that some of them are advanced enough that they may have been stripped of their interstellar capabilities by war or disaster.
But what about all the footage of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs or UFOs), as they’re also called? Well, another theory suggests that maybe because we are in this interstellar zoo, all these UAPs are just aliens on some sort of space safari.
They are just not communicating with us.
So, there are a lot of proposed solutions to Fermi’s paradox. Who better to help us find the science fact and the science fiction than the Frank B. Baird Jr professor of science at Harvard University and leader of the UAP Science Advisory Council, Avi Loeb.

Avi, good to see you. Which theory do you like?
AL: Thanks for having me. The theory I like the most in answer to Enrico Fermi’s question: where is everybody?” is: “They are here. It’s just that we haven’t realized that.”
The reason is obvious. We had only one century of modern science since the discoveryof quantum mechanics. Most stars are billions of years older than the Sun. They had plenty of time to develop science and technology well beyond our understanding.
We recognize that 95 percent of the mass budget of the universe is unknown to us. We are really ignorant about most of the constituents of the Universe, including technologies that are well beyond what we have.
Just imagine a cave dweller finding a cell phone. The cave dweller would look at the cell phone and say: “well, that’s a rock of a type that I’ve never seen before.” We have a lot to learn. We should be humble, and we should be looking out to find the evidence.
And guess what? The U.S. government is telling us they see things they don’t understand. In fact, on Monday, August 31st, 2026, I had the first in-person meeting of the UAP Science Advisory Council that I’m leading (https://uapsac.com/) at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
And I can tell you, first of all, that the government has some data that they don’t fully understand. Secondly, they are very interested in figuring them out using the scientific method.
And it’s not obvious at all, based on what they know that we are definitely dealing with only human-made technologies.
JW: So let me ask you this. Is there a plan in place to try to communicate with these things? Do we know that there is a communication system and we just don’t have the ability to know what that is or appreciate what it is, namely we don’t have the technology?
AL: It’s work in progress. We imagine technologies that we possess right now. It started with radio communication back in 1960 until now with SETI observers trying to find extraterrestrial radio communication signals. They did not see any so far.
I just co-authored this week a paper with James Guillochon, described here, that if they have something far more ambitious than Elon Musk’s vision of going from Earth to Mars, namely if they have a cargo transportation system between habitable planets within their planetary system, we might see flashes of light from the beamer of a light sail
Technology that we can imagine. We don’t have such a system as of yet, but they may have it.
In addition, they may also use for transportation a warp drive. That’s a bubble of distorted space-time that allows one to carry a cargo at an arbitrary speed across interstellar distances.
And I just co-authored a paper, described here, a couple of weeks ago with Shaun Fell, where we showed that if a warp bubble passes through the Earth’s atmosphere, it would cause a disturbance and produce a glowing ball of air.
In fact, there are reports in the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (https://www.war.gov/ufo/) from the U.S. government, including excellent work by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in the Pentagon, about orbs.
These are mysterious glowing spheres that they appear to be seeing and the FBI and other government agencies are reporting about. It’s not at all clear what some of these orbs are. Some of them might be drones but others are definitely not drones.
And so it’s a detective story for us to figure out what technology might be employed if these orbs came from outer space.
I would argue we should look at it as a way for us to learn about new technologies rather than take the approach adopted by experts, as if we already know most of physics and don’t see anything new.
JW: Well, listen. If this interstellar level of transport and delivery is a real thing, forget Amazon. Amazon can’t compete with that.

‘Case closed': Police say Bigfoot sightings in Maine were just a man in a costume

Police in the tiny mid-coast Maine community of Damariscotta said they received about a half dozen calls Tuesday reporting a Bigfoot or Sasquatch-like figure seen walking around town.

Police in the tiny mid-coast Maine community of Damariscotta said they received about a half dozen calls Tuesday reporting a Bigfoot or Sasquatch-like figure seen walking around town.
But it was really just a man dressed in a "very convincing costume" resembling Bigfoot. He was seen walking along Main Street and also appeared at the local school during morning drop-off on the first day of school.
Officer William Smith responded to Main Street and spoke with the man, a Maine resident who was familiar to some residents from a past TV appearance.
"While walking along Main Street, he certainly attracted attention. Some people were concerned and contacted police, while others took the opportunity to stop and take pictures, including while Officer Smith was speaking with him," Damariscotta Police Chief Erik Josephson said.
"Officer Smith described their interaction as a great conversation and found him to be very interesting and understanding when the concerns were explained."
No charges were filed, as Josephson said "nothing nefarious or criminal" was taking place.
"Ultimately, this is a good example of what we think small-town Maine, and Damariscotta in particular, is all about," Josephson said.
"People here look out for one another, speak up when something seems unusual, and law enforcement is there to check things out and make sure everyone is safe.
Sometimes those calls involve serious matters, and sometimes they involve something a little more… Bigfoot-like. Judging by some of the responses to the post, there were actually quite a few people who were disappointed to learn that it wasn’t the real Bigfoot!"
In a Facebook post updating the community on the incident, Josephson had some fun with the situation:
"After a lengthy, exhaustive, and completely serious investigation, members of the Damariscotta Police Department have reached a conclusion: Bigfoot is not real," he said.
"We understand this may be disappointing to some. Frankly, there were members of our department who were secretly hoping we had finally stumbled upon something that would make national news. Sadly, no."
"We greatly appreciate everyone’s excitement, curiosity, and willingness to keep an eye out for one another. We also appreciate all the calls and information that came in. Rest assured, we were on the hunt from the very beginning.
While we didn't find Bigfoot, we did find something almost as rare: A town full of people willing to stop what they're doing to investigate a Bigfoot sighting and keep each other safe. And honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you for keeping us informed, keeping an eye out for one another, and giving us something to talk about. Case closed. Bigfoot remains at large… provided he puts his costume back on."

Ancient Inca Complex with Surprisingly Advanced Ventilation System Uncovered High in the Andes

High in the Peruvian Andes, archaeologists working at an ancient pre-Hispanic settlement nearly 3,400 meters above sea level might not have expected to uncover evidence of sophisticated ancient technology.
However, that is precisely what was unearthed during excavations at the Wancasanga archaeological site, a location first identified more than three decades ago that is only now undergoing formal archaeological investigations.
There, archaeologists have uncovered a sophisticated complex of Inca storage structures, which they say appear to feature a carefully engineered ancient ventilation system, revealing how the natural movement of air at the site’s high altitude helped the area’s ancient residents preserve vital supplies.
A Discovery at Wancasanga
Located on a summit known to locals as the Huaman Orco or Chauchabamba, Wancasanga overlooks the Condebamba Valley in Peru’s Cajamarca region.
This year marked the official launch of the Wancasanga 2026 Archaeological Research Project, directed by archaeologist Jerry Solano Calderón.
As its first field season began, researchers focused excavations on an area designated Sector C, where archaeologists uncovered a dozen circular structures forming a crescent shape along the edge of the dig site.
These buildings were identified as what archaeologists call colcas, a type of storage structure known throughout parts of the ancient Inca Empire that were primarily used to store agricultural products and other necessities.
However, as excavations continued, another structure was uncovered nearby that featured something more intriguing: elements resembling ventilation ducts.
“The ducts are made up of side walls built with hewn and partially dressed stone blocks, on top of which large slabs or flagstones were placed that would have functioned as a roof,” archaeologist Oswaldo Ezeta Latoche said, according to Peru’s Andina news agency.
“This configuration would have allowed the circulation of air inside the structures,” Latoche said.
In the past, archaeologists have documented airflow designs in colcas found elsewhere in the Inca Empire (a video demonstration of this can be found here courtesy of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian).
Latoche said the discoveries at Wancasanga resemble other colcas that have been found along the ancient Inca road system known as the Qhapaq Ñan, which feature such ventilation systems.
Within one of the structures, Latoche and colleagues working at the Wancasanga site have unearthed fragments of a type of Inca vessel known as an aryballos, which strongly suggests the structure had been a state-maintained facility, as other colcas were believed to have been.
Harnessing the Mountain Winds
One thing that makes the discovery intriguing to archaeologists is its location. The structures are located along the western edge of Sector C, where stronger winds would have been present.
“The structures are located towards the western end of sector C, an area exposed to a greater incidence of winds, a condition that would have favored the functioning of the ventilation ducts,” Calderón, the site’s lead archaeologist, said.
This seems to indicate that the structures were intentionally placed there, which would have allowed the natural mountain winds to circulate through the ventilation ducts.
The result would have been an effective ancient cooling system, which may have helped preserve whatever items were stored inside.
Ongoing excavations at Wancasanga, which are being assisted by volunteers from the nearby community of Chauchabamba, will likely provide additional insights that will help archaeologists unravel the complete picture of the ancient Inca presence in the region, as well as the unique methods of storage and preservation that were employed at this high-altitude site.
For the time being, the discoveries provide a unique look at the engineering technology of the vast Inca Empire, and the use of natural resources like high Andean mountain wind as part of a surprisingly sophisticated system for extending the life of perishable resources.

Five Eyes UAP Intelligence Network Revealed: Australia Received Classified US Analysis

Official U.S. and Australian Defence records show Five Eyes partners discussed classified UAP intelligence sharing, while Australia confirmed receiving classified analysis from the United States military.
UFO to UAP Explained has released a new News Special examining official government records that reveal Australia’s involvement in Five Eyes discussions on unidentified anomalous phenomena and confirm that the United States military provided classified UAP analysis to Australian Defence.
The investigation, titled “Five Eyes UAP Intelligence Network Revealed: Australia Received Classified US Analysis,” draws on documents released by the U.S. Department of Defense’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office and Australian Department of Defence Freedom of Information records.
AARO documents confirm that representatives from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand joined U.S. officials at the Pentagon on 24 May 2023 for what was formally described as the “FVEY Inaugural UAP Caucus Working Group.”
According to the official agenda, the meeting was intended to create shared awareness of allied UAP issues involving detection, identification and mitigation, and to develop a framework for future UAP collaboration.
Participants included representatives from AARO, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration and Five Eyes partners.
The agenda specifically identified Australia as one of four Five Eyes partners scheduled to provide a national UAP update. It also proposed discussions covering:
Networks for sharing Five Eyes UAP reporting at unclassified and classified levels.
Shared databases showing known objects detected using different sensors.
Five Eyes UAP collection planning.
Future UAP meetings.
Potential connections with Five Eyes groups dealing with emerging and disruptive technologies.
An associated AARO email states that the meeting was held in a Pentagon room cleared for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information — TS/SCI.
The use of such a facility does not establish that every discussion or presentation was classified at that level, but it demonstrates the intelligence environment surrounding the talks.
The Australian records provide an additional and potentially significant dimension.
In Defence material responding to parliamentary questions, Australia confirmed:
“Yes. The United States military released classified analysis to Defence.”

Defence also confirmed that Australia’s Air Commander provided a classified summary of relevant Air Force capabilities, while existing RAAF intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, aircrew, air battle managers and intelligence officers provide pathways for observations to be communicated and analysed.
Australian Defence has separately confirmed that a Defence representative at the Australian Embassy in Washington attended the May 2023 Five Eyes UAP forum.
The revelations create an important policy question for Australia.
Despite participating in allied UAP discussions and receiving classified U.S. analysis, Defence has maintained that the Defence Aviation Safety Authority does not have a specific UAP reporting protocol.
Australian Defence documents state that unusual observations are instead handled through existing aviation safety, intelligence, surveillance and national-security mechanisms where appropriate.
“The important revelation is not that Five Eyes has proven an extraterrestrial explanation for UAP. There is no evidence in these documents supporting that conclusion,” said UFO to UAP Explained host Matt Tones.
“What the records do establish is that unidentified anomalous phenomena have been considered seriously enough to warrant formal Five Eyes collaboration, classified information sharing and assessment of Australia’s own detection capabilities.
That raises legitimate questions about why Australia still has no transparent national UAP reporting framework.”
The documents do not reveal the contents of the classified U.S. analysis supplied to Australia. They do not establish that the material concerned extraterrestrial technology, non-human intelligence or recovered craft.
Classified information may involve sensitive sensor capabilities, foreign surveillance platforms, collection methods, intelligence sources or military assessments.
However, the existence of the classified exchange itself is significant.
The Five Eyes partnership is one of the world’s most established intelligence-sharing relationships.

Ufologists Predict "Holy Cow" Moment When an Alien "Armada" Arrives in 2027

Several big names in the current UFO Disclosure movement appear to have achieved consensus that the aliens will reveal themselves next year—or, at least, that’s what they want you to think they said until the inevitable course-correction next year when they will claim they never said it.
Over the past couple of years, Chris Bledsoe, Ross Coulthart, Lue Elizondo, and others have all targeted the months around the start of 2027 for a rumored UFO revelation will leave the benighted masses awestruck at the grandeur of cosmic beings they, of course, have already prostrated themselves before and to whose glory they are now immune. After Bledsoe reiterated his 2027 prediction this weekend, the constellation of 2027 predictions went viral on UFO social media.
Bledsoe, who recently told an awestruck Miyam Bialik (yes, that Miyam Bialik) about Biblical UFO “secrets” and papal assassination plots, went on Jimmy Church’s Fade to Black to claim that a rumored incoming interstellar object is an alien spaceship:
“I’ve heard there’s something coming our direction, could be by late 2026, early 2027, that they’re suspicious that it’s not a rock.” Church and Bledsoe described the arrival as an “armada” from another world.
Of course, last year Blesoe claimed that the Egyptian goddess Hathor, who is a space alien, told him that Christ would return in 2026, so take his claims for what they are worth.
Elizondo was less certain about the full-scale armada but was certain something spectacular would happen next year:
“It’s going to white hot and all over the media. How people are going to take it—that’s out of my wheelhouse,” he said in a joint Disclosure Team podcast appearance with Diana Pasulka in early 2025.
“I know it’s coming. They’re going to find out. They’re going to know about it because it’s going to be very, very public. […] For the uninitiated, it’s going to be a ‘Holy Cow’ moment.” He added that it would not, however, cause panic on Wall Street.
Pasulka said she did not know whether this would actually happen, but she said that she has met with faith leaders from every religion, and they have prepared for this moment and will accept the aliens alongside angels and gods, and she warned that those who are not true believers, who treat faith only as a habit instead of the essential core of their beings, will struggle in the face of the alien majesty.
Coulthart claimed years ago that “something” was going to happen in 2027, and his secret unnamed sources have told him that the government is making preparations for the aliens’ arrival—though that would seem to contradict the recent claims from so-called whistleblowers like David Grusch that we are in contact with four different alien species and from Matthew Brown that the government sold them land and made agreements about abduction quotas.
Jeremy Corbell, on the other hand, is at least savvy enough not to make a testable prediction.
He is on record in last year’s TMZ Presents: The UFO Revolution calling the prophecy of 2027 alien contact “a lie”: “That lies is that there is a craft slowly making its way to us here on Earth.
And that is the lie they are going to want you to believe. […] That 100 fucking percent is the lie you are going to be told. Even got a date. People been whispering a date for a long time now.
I know where that lie comes from. I know, specifically, what document from the ’70s initiated the idea of that lie—a classified document. That’s the lie you’re gonna be told. You’re gonna be told that there is a craft on its way to Earth.”
