Moscow and region under drone attack since midnight

Authorities in the Russian capital report a drone attack on the region that began around midnight.
The BBC Russian service reported this, according to Ukrinform.
According to posts on Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin’s Telegram channel, the number of drones shot down while approaching Moscow since midnight on September 3 has reached 116.
He did not specify the locations or directions in which the drones were downed.
In the morning, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov also reported a massive overnight drone attack, saying that the settlements of Kubinka in the west of the region and Pavlovsky Posad in the east were among those affected.
According to an OSINT analysis by the ASTRA Telegram channel, a building on Naro-Fominskoye Highway in Kubinka that was damaged after being hit by a UAV is located approximately 5 kilometers from Kubinka airbase.
In the village of Bolshoye Bunkovo in the Bogorodsky district in the east of the region, a drone struck the premises of a factory, causing a fire, Vorobyov said without naming the enterprise. The area is also home to several military training grounds.
Overall, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry, air defense forces shot down 416 UAVs overnight.
The drones were downed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Tver, Smolensk, Kursk, Oryol, Tula, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Tambov, Rostov, Volgograd and Penza regions, the Moscow region, the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Black Sea.
As reported by Ukrinform, Moscow’s Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports suspended operations for the second consecutive night, from September 2 to 3, following warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russian airspace is not safe for civil aviation.

IDF clears Hezbollah tunnels on Ali al-Taher ridge in Lebanon after months-long operation
The IDF announced on Thursday that it had completed the clearance of two Hezbollah underground infrastructures on the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon and that forces are now working to neutralize them.
According to the military, the infrastructures were built over a period of about two decades and were planned and funded by Iran.
Forces from the IDF’s 36th Division have operated in the area in recent weeks and, according to the military, achieved operational control of the ridge both above and below ground.
During the operation, the area was cleared of Hezbollah operatives who had been stationed there, with some killed and others fleeing.

2 flights diverted after suspected drone spotted near Vietnam's Cat Bi airport

Two flights bound for Cat Bi International Airport in Hai Phong, northern Vietnam, were diverted to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi after a glowing object suspected to be a drone was spotted near the airport on Wednesday evening.
The Cat Bi Approach Control Center said it received a report from military forces at around 7:23 pm on Wednesday about a glowing airborne object about eight kilometers from the center in the direction of the airport.
Air traffic controllers immediately alerted relevant units and adjusted flight operations to ensure safety.
Three flights were affected.
Two inbound flights were instructed to hold at the HODOL holding point before their crews requested diversion to Noi Bai.
Another flight preparing to depart Cat Bi had to remain on the apron.
The incident came amid a series of recent drone and flycam sightings near Vietnamese airports.
On August 30, a surveillance system at Noi Bai detected a flycam flying at an altitude of 92 meters over Quang Minh Industrial Park, about 4.5 kilometers from the airport.
Its operator said the device was being used to monitor construction progress at a factory. Police seized the flycam and referred the case to local authorities.
Noi Bai’s 360-degree drone surveillance system can detect flying objects within a 10-kilometer radius and operate around the clock.
Earlier, on August 11, repeated drone sightings near Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City forced the airport to suspend takeoffs and landings twice for more than two hours.
More than 100 flights were affected, with preliminary losses estimated at around VND60 billion.
The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation said drones or unidentified flying objects near runways can pose serious risks to aircraft.
Flights may be ordered to hold, alter course, divert to another airport, or delay departure until safety is restored.
The corporation has called for stronger measures to detect and prevent unauthorized drone and flycam operations near airports to minimize disruptions to passengers and airlines.

Hydrogen-powered drone manufacturing is expanding across the United States as Heven AeroTech opens a 56,000-square-foot production facility in Winchester, Virginia, establishing its first East Coast site and launching a national manufacturing network.
Announced on September 2, the opening builds on the company’s existing manufacturing operations in the Columbia River Gorge.
The Virginia facility will support production of its Z1 hydrogen-powered drone while establishing the processes and supply chains needed to expand American-made unmanned aerial systems for defense partners.
From boutique production to industrial scale
Heven says the new network is intended to move hydrogen-powered drones beyond small-scale manufacturing, creating a repeatable production model that can be deployed across multiple facilities.
“U.S. national security demands a resilient, sovereign technology base capable of scaling beyond prototyping,” said Bentzion Levinson, Founder and CEO of Heven AeroTech.
“The launch of Heven AeroTech’s coast-to-coast manufacturing network transitions hydrogen-powered UAS from boutique production to an industrialized, highly repeatable capability, aligning directly with the deployment mandates of our defense partners,” he added.
The Winchester operation will serve as the blueprint for a phased expansion across the country.
Each planned facility is expected to include hydrogen propulsion manufacturing capabilities. However, the company has not specified how many additional sites it intends to open or where they will be located.
Virginia will serve as a production site and support the broader expansion.
Virginia facility established within 90 days
The company said it stood up its first East Coast facility within 90 days, with the opening intended to demonstrate how quickly domestic drone manufacturing capacity can be established.
“By standing up our first East Coast facility within 90 days, we are proving that domestic UAS manufacturing can move at tactical speed to meet the immediate and emerging needs of those carrying out critical missions,” said Michael Buscher, President of Heven AeroTech USA.
Production at the site will support the company’s flagship Z1 hydrogen-powered drone, which Heven identifies as a Defense Innovation Unit Blue UAS Select platform.
Alongside aircraft production, the Virginia operation is establishing manufacturing processes, quality systems, supply chain infrastructure, and operational practices for sustained growth.
These functions are central to the company’s stated goal of building a scalable domestic manufacturing network.
Expansion plans include research and hiring
Heven’s longer-term plans extend beyond aircraft assembly.
Its vision for the network includes advanced hydrogen research and development laboratories, automated manufacturing infrastructure, and dedicated areas where technology providers could operate alongside its facilities.
Those elements remain part of the company’s long-term vision, rather than capabilities confirmed as operational at the newly opened Virginia site.
The company expects the expanding network to create hundreds of jobs nationwide over the coming years.

“Looking up at the sky, I see this little point of light,” Bullock recounted. Initially thinking it was a satellite, Bullock didn’t pay much attention in the moment —until she noticed more lights joining it in the sky above.
“Then there’s another little light that comes from a different direction to meet that light there,” she said. “There were five altogether.
They all sort of came together,” she continued, and said she again resisted thinking too much about it because she had “a bit of a buzz going” after a few drinks when filming wrapped for the day.
“All of a sudden they just, poof, took off like that,” Bullock said, which communicated to her that the crafts were not of this world.
“I think one of the other people had seen it as well, then I was just quiet about it until the government released the documents and that exact formation was also seen by legitimate pilots,” Bullock noted, referencing recent government files that have documented supposed UFO sightings throughout history.
Bullock said she feels “vindicated” by the confirmation of such documents, and said that aliens visiting our planet now might not take too kindly to what they see.
“I think they’re here watching and laughing, but they’re invisible,” Bullock said as Kelce laughed. Bullock is far from the only celebrity to believe in aliens.
The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg has stated at least twice — once in 2024, another this year — on the talk show that she knows aliens are among humans on our planet.
“They have been among us for a very long time,” Goldberg told her cohosts in June.
In March 2024, Goldberg told a stunned Kumail Nanjiani on the air that “they’re already here,” with regard to aliens, and later stressed, “They’re watching us.”

11,000-Year-Old Stone Sculpture Unearthed at Göbekli Tepe’s Mysterious Sister Site Was Carved Millennia Before the First Human Societies

Officials from Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism working at Karahan Tepe, a “significant parallel site” to the enigmatic Göbekli Tepe, have announced the discovery of a unique stone sculpture depicting a human figure riding a leopard.
Ministry officials said the 70-centimeter-tall “composite sculpture,” likely carved thousands of years before the first organized human societies, “opens new questions” about the ancient Neolithic artist who created it.
The discovery also offers insights into the sophistication of the society and the types of artistic expression taking place thousands of years ago in this archaeologically rich region of southeastern Turkey, according to a recent Yenisafak news agency report.
11,000-Year-Old Composite Sculpture Found at “Parallel Site” to Göbekli Tepe
When most people think of ancient megalithic structures, well-known archaeological sites like the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and Machu Picchu likely come to mind.
Critically, all those impressive feats of ancient engineering were accomplished after the generally agreed-upon formation of humanity’s first societies.
Those attitudes began to shift after the relatively recent discovery of Göbekli Tepe in southeastern Turkey.
Famous for its massive stone pillars and lifelike animal sculptures found throughout much of the site, the site’s construction has been scientifically dated to between 11,500 and 12,000 years before present.
That date places this impressive site and its artwork’s creation thousands of years before those first human societies.
While researchers continue to excavate Göbekli Tepe, they have also unearthed several historically rich sites in the same region.
That includes the nearby Karahan Tepe, which has been dated to a few hundred years after its more famous neighbor.
“Composite Sculpture” Represents Style Not Previously Identified in Region
According to the ministry, Karahan Tepe lies approximately 30 kilometers from Göbekli Tepe. The historic sites are part of the larger Taş Tepeler archaeological project.
That effort includes a cluster of Stone Hills sites previously dated to the Neolithic period more than 11,000 years before present.
When Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced the discovery, he described the ancient artwork as a “composite sculpture.”
The Minister said the find, which he also described as 11,000 years old, represented a style not previously encountered at the ancient site, near Şanlıurfa. The minister said the unusual sculpture was found during ongoing excavations this year.
Instead of resting inside a majestic monument like the Göbekli Tepe sculptures, the leopard-and-man statue was found resting on a bench along the wall of a circular structure “roughly three meters in diameter.”
Notably, the structure’s floor was paved with flat stones. The ministry said this suggests a sophisticated level of deliberate architectural planning “during an era predating the emergence of cities and written records.”
Find “Opens the Door to New Questions About the Earliest Periods of Human History”
When discussing the discovery’s significance, the ministry pointed to the volume of monumental structures and elaborate artworks found in the region.
They also noted the value of artifacts representing humanity’s transition “between mobile hunter-gatherer existence and settled agricultural life,” which “challenge previous assumptions about the timeline of complex social organization.”
“While Göbeklitepe has drawn international attention since the 1990s for its T-shaped pillars and animal carvings, Karahantepe has emerged as a significant parallel site since excavations began there in 2019,” the announcement explains.
After highlighting Turkey’s ‘Heritage to the Future’ initiative, which supported the effort, Minister Ersoy said the ancient statue’s discovery “opens the door to new questions about the earliest periods of human history” and would resonate throughout the scientific community.

The US Government Has a Preparedness Plan in Case of NHI Disclosure

At a meeting held on August 31, 2026, at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the UAP Science Advisory Council, of which I am a member, was informed that the United States government has a preparedness plan in place should the existence of nonhuman intelligence (NHI) be confirmed.
We were also told that the United States is prepared to take an international leadership role if necessary.
So, what does this mean?
The government prepares for many events that may never happen, but that would have significant consequences if they did.
The existence of a preparedness plan does not mean that the government has confirmed the existence of NHI, believes confirmation is imminent, or is preparing to make any type of announcement.
It does mean that the possibility of confirming NHI has been taken seriously enough to warrant advance planning.
That alone is significant because it means that the United States government has considered the possibility that such a confirmation could occur and it has determined that the consequences would be substantial enough to require a coordinated response.
The statement about international leadership also suggests that the government recognizes that confirmation of NHI would be a global event. And that it would require nations to communicate and cooperate with one another.
We were not given any details about the plan. We do not know which agencies would lead the response, what circumstances would activate it, or whether it addresses the psychological and societal impact of such information.
Those questions matter because preparing to release information is not the same as preparing people to understand and adapt to it.

I was able to share a policy brief that I co-wrote with the Disclosure Foundation on the human consequences of disclosure, along with a 60-page report on the psychological impact of disclosure.
I hope these materials are taken seriously, because any truly meaningful preparedness planning needs to address more than government communications and interagency coordination.
It also needs to plan for how individuals, families, communities, and institutions would process and respond to the information.
Until then, what does this mean for the preparedness plans that people outside government are developing?
It means they should continue their advocacy and preparedness work. Even if the government has a plan, there is a tremendous amount that would still need to happen.
Many resources and systems would have to be created or expanded, including curricula and training for law-enforcement officers, educators, health-care professionals, mental-health providers, clergy, emergency managers, and community leaders.
Adequate preparedness planning would also require public-facing materials to help people process what they are learning; guidance for communicating uncertainty and how to avoid misinformation; protocols for supporting vulnerable populations; frameworks for community dialogue; educational resources for schools and universities; training for journalists and public-information officers; and research into the potential psychological, cultural, religious, legal, economic, and geopolitical effects of disclosure.
We would also need trusted channels for public questions, independent scientific review, mechanisms for international coordination, and long-term support for people experiencing fear, confusion, grief, or profound changes in their worldview.
These efforts should be developed carefully, transparently, and with appropriate safeguards.
They should not assume that every claim about UAP or NHI is true, and they should not encourage any sort of panic or speculation.
Their purpose should be to help people evaluate information responsibly, communicate honestly, and respond humanely if significant new evidence or an official confirmation does happen.
The United States has never been a country in which we simply depend on the government to do everything for us. Civil society, professional organizations, researchers, academics, educators, faith communities, advocates, and local leaders all have important roles to play.
Government preparedness is valuable, but it cannot replace the broader work of the community working together to build greater public understanding and resilience.
It is important to remember that a preparedness plan is not evidence that nonhuman intelligence exists. It is evidence that the United States government considers that if it were to be confirmed, the impact would be consequential enough to prepare for.
For everyone else interested in this matter, the message is clear, continue the work of thoughtful and responsible preparedness so that, if this type of disclosure does occur, people are not left without the knowledge, resources, and support they need.

The Disclosure Foundation calls on the Office of the Director of National Intelligence @ODNIgov to publicly clarify the preparedness planning described to members of the UAP Science Advisory Council during its August 31 meeting.
According to Foundation Advisory Board member Dr. Jennice Vilhauer (@JenniceVilhauer), the Council was informed that the U.S. government has a preparedness plan in place should the existence of non-human intelligence be confirmed, and that the United States is prepared to assume an international leadership role if necessary.
The Disclosure Foundation requests that ODNI make available publicly releasable information about this preparedness framework.
This should include who briefed the Council and in what official capacity; what specifically was communicated regarding the existence, purpose, and scope of the plan; which agencies or offices developed or participated in it; when the framework was established; what circumstances it is intended to address; and what role ODNI would play in its implementation.
We also request that ODNI clarify what is meant by U.S. “international leadership” in this context and whether the framework contemplates coordination on disclosure-related activities with foreign governments or international institutions.
