EXCLUSIVE: A senior Department of War official confirms to @FoxNews that the U.S. military shot down "approximately 100" suspected cartel drones at the southern border during the month of August alone. It's the first time the Pentagon has revealed the frequency at which their counter UAS technology, including sophisticated lasers, is being used to take down cartel drones attempting to infiltrate the US.

FOX is told that each takedown was precoordinated with Mexican military and border authorities, and that the strategy reflects a wider US effort to have a layered, rapidly-fielded counter UAS defense that combines technology, trained personnel, and updated authorities instead of a single "silver bullet" system.
