DENVER (KDVR) — New video captured the moment a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter was recovered from Thorodin Mountain after an “aviation mishap” last week. Footage obtained by FOX31 shows the U.S. military on Thursday flying out a heavily damaged Black Hawk helicopter after an “incident” that happened in Gilpin County on Aug. 25.

While little information has been released about the events that led up to the military helicopter being damaged on the east side of the mountain, U.S. Army Special Operations Command Thursday described it as an “aviation mishap.” The Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office said four people were on board, but no one was reportedly injured.

Authorities said the recovery operation is expected to last over the next few days and that the investigation remains ongoing.
