Interesting. If chess could be solved by an AI though, then wouldn't it just be solving playing itself like a million monkeys typing on a million typewriters until it types the solution? Until one finally fits and then that'd be just like a seed or something so it could be replicated. What's the approach? Brute forcing all possible combinations? I don't know. I'm kind of siding with the chess guys on this for now. How would it account for the nuance of decision and calculating risk that grandmasters have?
Yeah, but you look at just Stockfish for example, it's claimed to be 3600 ELO. I don't know any grandmasters that've beaten it. But that's just something that can beat a human at chess, not "solve" chess. And checkers is only weakly-solved anyway, you know, based on a standard starting position.

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone beating Stockfish unhandicapped. A quick search with an AI and it can't reference a single instance of a grandmaster beating it either.
