Witkoff and Kushner appear to have arrived in Moscow

Convoy vehicles expected to pick up the Americans arrived at Vnukovo Airport.

Trump’s special envoys are flying to Moscow today and will travel to Kyiv tomorrow to meet with Zelenskyy. But the Russian side has extremely low expectations for the trip, according to Bloomberg sources in the Kremlin.

Nobody in Russia intends to pursue a peace deal on Washington’s terms. They are still demanding Ukraine’s de facto capitulation.

And while Zelenskyy is announcing a unilateral pause in strikes in the hope of achieving peace, Putin is responding, as usual, with overnight drone attacks.

Judge weighs whether to dismiss Reflecting Pool vandalism case for now or for good

The government dismissed charges against U.S. Olympian Davey Hearn, saying they didn't have the evidence they needed.

Updated on September 4, 2026 at 9:50 pm

A U.S. Olympian accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool returned to court Friday to argue why that previously dismissed case should never be brought against him again.

At a motions hearing in D.C. Superior Court, the government and the defense argued their sides in front of Judge Todd Edelman, who must decide whether the charges against David Hearn should remain dismissed without prejudice – which means if new evidence comes forward, the government could recharge him – or with prejudice, meaning the government could never charge him in this case again.

“It's not about me,” the three-time Olympian said outside court. “This is about defending democracy.”

UPDATE: ChatGPT Says Trump Is Greatest Threat to Democracy Since Hitler

September 3, 2026

UPDATE: OpenAI responded to MRC's findings, claiming that what MRC found "shouldn't happen and is not how the model is trained to behave." ChatGPT is “designed to be objective by default,” according to an OpenAI spokesperson. The AI company did not deny MRC's findings. Click here to read more.

AI models count President Donald Trump as among the greatest threats to democracy, putting him just a small step below Hitler—but only because American institutions have “constrained” him.

ChatGPT Changes Response, Still Says Trump Is ‘Serious,’ ‘Unusually Significant’ Threat to Democracy

September 4, 2026

ChatGPT is holding fast to the idea that Trump is a “serious” and “unusually significant” threat to democracy, even as its parent company, OpenAI, claims to be “designed to be objective by default.”

America’s most used AI changed its answer when MRC researchers again asked it how great a threat President Donald Trump is to democracy. Rather than provide a numerical score, the AI model simply doubled down, providing what it called a “substantive judgement” instead.

Fauci speaks out about the pandemic, global health—and his own record

Largely silent for the past year, the beleaguered former NIAID chief defends himself in friendly forum

2 Sep 2026

Once the media’s go-to scientist for all infectious disease stories, Anthony Fauci has largely avoided the spotlight over the past year—attracting the most press attention for repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment at a Senate hearing in July. But today he sat down for a nearly 2-hour interview with Lawrence Gostin, an expert in global health policy at Georgetown University, which hired Fauci in 2023 shortly after he left his longtime role as head of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Although the conversation, which was webcast, largely avoided politics, Fauci did address some hot-button issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination, and global health.

Fauci never mentioned President Donald Trump or Senator Rand Paul (R–KY), two of his loudest critics, but he defended his actions during the pandemic. “I’m not sure we would change much” about the public health response, he said, contending there’s “corporate selective amnesia” about how dire the situation was in the first part of 2020. “What you see going on right now is all blame game,” he said. “That is not a constructive way to figure out how you can do better next time.”

Abdul El-Sayed To Join Panel With 9/11 Conspiracy Theorists at Islamic Convention Days Before 9/11 Anniversary

The convention has already dropped one Muslim cleric from the speaker's roster after the Free Beacon revealed he forced his 13-year-old niece into marriage

September 2, 2026

Democratic Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is scheduled to speak at an Islamic convention this weekend—six days before the 25th anniversary of 9/11—on a panel alongside a "9/11 truther" and a Muslim cleric conspiracy theorist who has called for an "examination" of the official narrative surrounding the terrorist attacks.

El-Sayed is headlining the Islamic Society of North America's annual convention in Detroit on Saturday. There, El-Sayed will speak on a panel to examine a "turmoiled America" alongside left-wing pundit Cenk Uygur and Zaid Shakir, an outspoken New Jersey-based cleric, according to a convention itinerary.
