Judge Bianco was appointed by the Supreme Court as a CJEO member in January 2025. Appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court bench in 2017, Judge Bianco is currently the Supervising Judge of the Juvenile Division (Dependency). His judicial ethics experience includes several years of service on the ethics committee of the California Judges Association (CJA), which he chaired, and as vice-chair of his court’s Ethics Review & Comment committee. He has also served three terms on his court’s Executive Committee and on several other court committees.

Judge Bianco has instructed on judicial ethics throughout California for over two decades as both an attorney and judge, including as CJER faculty and for his court’s in-house orientation for new bench officers. He has served as faculty for Primary Assignment Orientation, New Judges Orientation, and at numerous programs for CJA.

Judge Bianco serves on the Judicial Council’s Family & Juvenile Law Advisory Committee, and was an original member of the Council’s Judicial Branch Contracting Manual working group. Judge Bianco’s involvement with CJA includes serving on the Executive Board and as its former Secretary/Treasurer.He serves on the legislative committee of the Juvenile Court Judges of California, is a member of the LGBT Judicial Officers of California, and is a contributor and former co-editor of CJA’s The Bench magazine.

Prior to his judicial appointment, Judge Bianco served as Court Counsel for the Los Angeles Superior Court for 16 years. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office for 7 years, and then worked as a Senior Associate for a municipal law firm prior to joining the court.

Bianco won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in Californiaoutright without appearing on the ballot. If the elections had not been canceled,the primary would have been held on March 5, 2024, and the general election would have been held on November 5, 2024.
