It would not be untoward to assert that the fundamental essence of this ordeal is an attempt at communication between two entities which communicate by entirely alien methods.

What do I want from you? Personally, I want people to live their own lives in ways that make sense to them.
Should someone feel it necessary to interact with another specific individual, I'd like to see them actually engage with that individual face to face, rather than trying to use technology to insert themselves into that person's life, as that's a very dangerous game of brinksmanship which can't actually be won.
