Nuclear Bunker Civil Defense Renovations
Just an idea here, but similar to the civilian conservation corps, would it make sense to have either the government or private companies start renovating the old civil defense bunkers? I don't generally like high numbers of federal employees, but if people are on government handouts, maybe they could apply to this renovation program. Help haul junk out, mopping, washing. It would be plenty of remediation jobs, electrical, and plumbing for the skilled trades too. If we're up against such significantly bad actors who would love to spark a world war, we should probably revive the civil defense programs. Or maybe the updated version of this is bioweapons and biodefense. But I'd think this is even easier because it wouldn't need to worry about blasts. Maybe this is what data centers are already? Genuinely don't know, just thinking out loud.
