Singaporean Ringleader of $245 Million Cryptocurrency Racketeering Enterprise Pleads Guilty in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON – Malone Lam, 22, a citizen of Singapore and recent resident of Miami, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. in connection with his role as ringleader of an international cybercrime conspiracy that used social engineering to steal and launder cryptocurrency valued at more than $245 million, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

“If you build a cybercrime empire, we will find you, dismantle your operation, and hold you accountable,” said U.S. Attorney Pirro. “This defendant led an international network that preyed on victims through deception, invaded their privacy, and stole hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency. Working with our partners at the FBI and IRS-CI, we will continue to hunt down the criminals who weaponize technology to steal from innocent people.”

Lam pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly to one count of participating in a RICO conspiracy. Judge Kollar-Kotelly set a status hearing December 8, 2026.

According to court documents, the criminal enterprise began no later than October 2023 and continued through at least May 2025. The scheme developed through connections made on online gaming platforms and was comprised of individuals based in California, Connecticut, New York, Florida, and abroad. The RICO conspiracy used social engineering and occasional home break-ins to obtain information that allowed the conspirators to drain their victims’ cryptocurrency wallets.

Lam, aka “Anne Hathaway,” “$$$,” “King Greavy,” organized the social engineering enterprise, identified target victims, and coordinated the roles of the different conspirators.

Members and associates of the conspiracy used the stolen cryptocurrency to purchase, among other things, nightclub services ranging up to $500,000 per evening, luxury handbags valued in the tens of thousands of dollars which were given away at nightclub parties, luxury watches valued between $100,000 up to over $500,000, luxury clothing valued in the tens of thousands of dollars, rental homes in Los Angeles, the Hamptons, and Miami, private jet rentals for travel, a team of private security guards, and a fleet of exotic cars, ranging in value from $100,000 to $3,800,000. 

Law enforcement arrested Lam on Sept. 18, 2025, at his rental home in Miami.

This case is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, the FBI’s Washington Field Office, and the IRS-Criminal Investigation Washington D.C. Field Office. Significant investigative and operational support was provided by the FBI’s Los Angeles and Miami field offices, as well as the United States Attorney’s Officers in the Central District of California, Southern District of Florida, and the District of New Jersey. 

The matter is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher R. Howland and David Liss of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Ashley St. Clair claims Elon Musk told her he wanted ‘legion of children before the civil war’ in bombshell doc

Elon Musk’s ex has made explosive claims about her relationship with the world’s richest man in a forthcoming documentary.

Ashley St. Clair claimed her ex Elon Musk wanted a “legion of children before the civil war” in the forthcoming documentary “Musk.”

The former right-wing influencer alleged the billionaire — who has 14 children — made the candid confession in a text message ahead of the 2024 birth of their son Romulus, she told reporters at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, the Guardian reported.

When St. Clair was asked if she believed Mr Musk feared a civil war or was trying to fuel the idea of one, she responded, “Whatever it is, what he’s doing with this platform on X cannot be ignored, because he is stoking flames that don’t exist in the real world.”

“He is creating something that is causing real world effects with all of these inputs on X,” she continued. “I do believe that he is causing deliberate division that may be catastrophic if it’s not regulated or tamed, or if we don’t do our part in putting it down.”

Mr Musk, 55, notably acquired X (formerly Twitter) in 2022 and has since shared his political views on the platform, including his support for Germany’s far-right Alternative für Deutschland party.

St. Clair, 28, also told reporters she was offered US$40 million ($55 million) on behalf of Mr Musk to remain silent about him in the bombshell documentary.

“When you’re offered something like that [to stay quiet], it really causes a debate in your head about what your speech means and how valuable that is and why do they want to offer me this amount of money to not speak?” she said, per People.

During an interview on the “Don Lemon Show” podcast in June, Ms St. Clair alleged she was presented with the nondisclosure agreement by the Tesla founder’s wealth manager, Jared Birchall.

“Originally, Elon had sent a message to me and Jared that said, ‘Wire Ashley $15 million for a home and reserve capital,’ and that was it,” she claimed. “A few days later, Jared has this two-hour-long phone call with me, where he’s [saying] basically there’s going to have to be some sort of NDA.”

Ms St. Clair, however, turned down the alleged NDA and an additional offer of “$15 million and $100,000 per month for 20 years,” if she kept quiet about their relationship.

“[I was] making the moral decision,” she continued. “I had said to him, ‘I would rather go to a studio apartment with both of my children than sign this.’”

The Alex Gibney-directed documentary premiered at the festival on Tuesday and opens in theatres on October 16.

The four-hour production will walk viewers through Mr Musk’s personal life, including the 14 children he has with four partners; and his professional endeavours, such as his business empire with Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink, and his previous close alliance with President Trump.

While it’s unclear what Ms St. Clair, 28, will shed light on in the feature film, it’s likely she will discuss co-parenting her and Mr Musk’s son and their ongoing custody battle.

170K Files Released by NYC Mayor Mamdani Reveal 9/11 Air Quality Concerns Kept Hidden

The document dump on Tuesday claims city officials knew conditions around Ground Zero were unsafe to breathe, leading to long-term health impacts.

A trove of documents released Tuesday by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani show that city officials masked health concerns in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, even as they were privy to the potential hazards.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani announced the release of more than 170,000 pages of city records documenting the government’s response to the attacks, including pages of records concerning health concerns, air quality and the city’s response to the day that will be commemorated this Friday on its 25th anniversary.

The city also announced settlements pertaining to two lawsuits brought by 9/11 Health Watch, culminating a multi-year legal battle. Documents can be accessed by anyone via an online portal which will be updated on a rolling basis in the coming months.

“The very least our city owes the families, survivors and first responders whose lives were forever changed by the September 11th attacks is transparency and accountability," Mandani said in a statement. "That is why I am proud that our administration has launched the city’s first public records portal dedicated to the environmental and health impacts of 9/11 and reached a settlement in these lawsuits.

“For too long, New Yorkers have had to fight for access to records that should have been available to them in the first place. This portal is part of our administration’s enduring commitment to honor those we lost, care for those living with lasting health consequences and give thousands of New Yorkers the answer they’ve been asking for.”

The records include the frequently referenced Harding Memo, sent to then-Deputy Mayor Robert Harding, which revealed city officials' anticipation that thousands of lawsuits could result due to air exposure and a lack of proper safety equipment—including purported efforts tied to legislative measures aimed to limit the city’s legal liability.

Documents also included the “68 boxes” of records that were not located until 2025 despite multiple Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests, as well as a collection of records concerning World Trade Center 7.

Mamdani, speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, said that "more people have died from 9/11-related illnesses than were killed on the day itself.”

NYC Officials 'Lied' to Own Residents

Mamdani, who appeared Tuesday with 9/11 and first responder advocate Jon Stewart along with 9/11 families, said Tuesday that multiple NYC mayoral administrations passed the buck on releasing these records "that New Yorkers were owed."

“People got sick because the leaders they trusted lied and told them they were safe to breathe in toxic air,” Mamdani said, according to CNN.

Stewart, in his own remarks, said that in the aftermath of the attacks "everyone knew" about the contamination and "poison" filling the atmosphere. "Now it’s very clear that the city knew as well," Stewart added.

Iran Seizes U.S. Submarine Drone, Threatens Attacks On Tankers Away From Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on September 9 said it seized a submarine drone from the United States military in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

“The IRGC naval forces captured one of the most modern, unmanned, and smart submarines of the U.S. terrorist army at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz in a complex intelligence and operational action at dawn today,” the Corps said in a statement carried by state TV.

“This smart submarine is equipped with the latest technology in the subsurface field in the world, which was delivered to the U.S. terrorist army fleet in 2025,” the statement added.

“This submarine has now been captured and images of it will be released in the coming hours,” it concluded.

Iranian media reported that the unmanned underwater vehicle’s main capabilities included “subsurface reconnaissance and surveillance, seabed mapping, mine detection and inspection of submarine cables and pipelines.”

The submarine was identified as the Dive-LD, a large-diameter autonomous undersea vehicle (LD-AUV) developed by Anduril. It measures approximately 5.8 meters in length and 1.2 meters in diameter, with a dry weight of about 2,720 kg. It offers a maximum endurance of around 10 days, a maximum operating depth of ~6,000 meters, a speed range of roughly 2–7 knots, and a survey range of about 313 nautical miles.

The design of the submarine features modular payload bays exceeding 1 cubic meter capacity, a 3D-printed exterior for rapid customization, direct-drive electric propulsion, and low-logistics portability.

The U.S. military confirmed that a submarine drone was lost near Iran, but in a statement to CNBC Navy Captain Tim Hawkins of the Central Command played down the incident claiming that the system was “defective” and carried no sensitive data or classified equipment.
