I'm glad my parents were religious bc when I was a child I feared the boogeyman hardcore so it was nice to have adults saying someone was watching us and protecting us and even loving us.

Most religious people do not read the Bible literally, instead viewing its texts through a lens of poetry, metaphor, history, and theology.
