I taught first grade for many years. Skipping is a basic skill that they are supposed to have mastered. I was surprised by how many kids didn’t know how! Teaching it is insane 😂 If anyone was watching I’ll bet they thought I’d lost my marbles! I broke it down to “step, hop, next foot step, hop. It REALLY looks unhinged when you try to do it slow like that! 😅

Once my primary school got us to come outside the classroom individually and skip in front of the teaching assistant to see how many of us could skip, I have still no clue why, to this day 😭

A couple months ago my granddaughter asked me if I could skip. I said girl it’s like riding a bicycle you don’t forget.
About three skips in we heard a loud pop I pulled a ligament in my foot.

I'm sitting in my garage & saw this. I immediately thought there's no way I forgot how to skip. I would just like to say thank God for small favors! I am very grateful I am alone in the garage & even more grateful nobody got this on camera!!! Now don't get me wrong…I got there eventually, but it took an undisclosed amount of time to get it!!!

Skipping is super underrated. You can get around way faster than walking, more than a jog with way less energy. As long as you don’t mind looking like a giddy school boy bout to fetch some berries by the mountains, it’s fire.
