AfD files criminal complaint against Merz
The German chancellor’s claim that calls for remigration are in fact calls for ethnic cleansing is “defamatory,” the right-wing party has alleged
espondents nationally. The right-wing opposition Eurosceptic party advocates tougher immigration controls and is also highly critical of the German government’s support for Ukraine, as well as sanctions against Russia.
In a statement on Thursday, the AfD parliamentary group – the largest opposition faction in the German parliament – accused Merz of defamation that goes beyond constitutionally protected free speech in parliament.
Speaking in the Bundestag on Wednesday, the chancellor claimed that in promoting ‘remigration’ the AfD is essentially advocating “ethnic cleansing based on origin and skin color.”
Stephan Brandner, the secretary and legal counsel for the AfD parliamentary group, stated that with “his baseless and repugnant remarks” directed not only at the party itself, but also at millions of German citizens, Merz has “crossed a line… in a way that carries criminal implications.”
The concept of ‘remigration', which has been gaining traction among right-wing circles in Europe in recent years, is usually understood to mean the return of criminal and ‘non-assimilated’ immigrants and, more broadly, residents with a migrant background to their countries of origin.
Merz made the remark days after the AfD won Sunday’s regional elections in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt with 43.8% of the vote.
The chancellor’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party finished a distant second, securing just over 17.2%.
Speaking at a press conference, Merz acknowledged that the Christian Democrats, who had for years dominated Saxony-Anhalt’s political landscape, had suffered the “most serious electoral defeat in decades.”
However, the chancellor refused to change course and vowed to “strengthen our political order and our firm anchoring in Europe,” while blaming the CDU’s dismal results on poor communication with the voters.
An INSA poll published by Bild in late August indicated that support for the governing Christian Democratic CDU/CSU bloc had dipped to 20% nationwide, with 78% of respondents dissatisfied with Merz’s coalition government.
Meanwhile, Ulrich Siegmund, the AfD’s lead candidate in Saxony-Anhalt, said on Thursday that the party does not “categorically demonize the production of defense equipment, because we will naturally need the appropriate tools for the subsequent remigration and deportation drive.”
“This is also in the interest of internal security, our own stability, and state defense,” the politician stated in response to a journalist’s question that referenced recent media reports of negotiations between Israel’s Elbit Systems and regional authorities. The arms manufacturer is reportedly seeking to set up a plant in the town of Sangerhausen.
In recent months, multiple establishment political figures have called for the opposition AfD to be banned for presumably posing a threat to Germany’s constitutional order and democracy.
In late August, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Baden-Wurttemberg Governor Cem Ozdemir said that the AfD should be outlawed as it supposedly calls into question the “inviolability of human dignity” enshrined in the German constitution. The politicians who represent the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Green Party, respectively, cited the right-wing party’s tough-on-immigration stance.
The AfD has already been placed under surveillance by the German federal authorities, which classify the party as a ‘suspected right-wing extremist’ entity. In several regions, local AfD chapters have been subjected to even wider monitoring.

Gulf States & Iran To Hold Unprecedented Meeting Monday, Seeking Hormuz Strait Deal Breakthrough
Iran and some Gulf states are formally meeting in order to push and finalize an Iran+Oman-backed deal and framework for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, coming at the end of a week where multiple tankers have been attacked, including unprecedented US strikes on an Iranian civilian vessel.
"Gulf foreign ministers plan to meet their Iranian counterpart in a push by Oman and Iran to secure buy-in for a deal temporarily managing shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, as regional states seek a pathway to ease hostilities over the waterway," Financial Times reports.
"The gathering, an Omani initiative, would be the first meeting between the top diplomats from the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council and a senior Iranian official since the US and Israel launched the war against the Islamic republic in February," the publication details.
Officials have told FT the meeting is set for Monday in the Omani coastal city of Salalah, though details and arrangements are still being finalized.
Global oil prices have been steadily moving up in the last week, amid further 'limited' US-Iran tit-for-tat exchanges of blows in Hormuz, southern Iran, and beyond - including Jordan, which saw waves of ballistic missile attacks on a US base.
Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has congratulated President Trump for keeping up the pressure on Iran, which has included unprecedented sanctions.
Netanyahu stated on X the US and Israel have achieved "historic progress" over the last year, which has in turn made Iran and its allies an "evil axis… weaker than ever."
The Bibi message which was timed for the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks specifically echoed George W. Bush's "axis of evil" phrase which was a feature of the early so-called Global War on Terror (GWOT).

But who are they, why do they travel to a relatively small Ukrainian city every year, and are they still coming despite the conflict?
Who are the Hasidic Jews?
Hasidism is a movement within Orthodox Judaism that emerged in Eastern Europe in the 18th century. Over time, it developed into a number of groups with their own traditions and religious leaders.
Most of those making the annual journey to Uman are followers of the Breslov branch. Their connection to the city goes back to the man who founded the movement more than 200 years ago – Rabbi Nachman.
Who was Rabbi Nachman?
Nachman was born in 1772 in what is now Ukraine and was a great-grandson of Israel Baal Shem Tov, who is regarded as the founder of the Hasidic movement.
He founded the Breslov branch and emphasized prayer, simplicity, and joy. He also placed particular importance on his followers gathering with him for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
What is Rosh Hashanah?
This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on September 11 and ends after nightfall on September 13. Unlike the secular New Year, it is primarily a religious holiday centered on prayer and reflection.
The holiday has particular importance for Breslov followers because Nachman considered their annual Rosh Hashanah gathering especially important. After his death, his followers continued meeting in Uman during the holiday, explaining why the city sees its largest influx of pilgrims at this time of year.
Why all the dancing?
The singing and dancing seen on Uman’s streets are not required Rosh Hashanah rituals.
Music and dancing are common at Hasidic gatherings, while Rabbi Nachman placed particular emphasis on joy. His followers therefore often combine prayer with communal singing and dancing during their time in Uman.
Do pilgrims still come despite the conflict?
Yes. Tens of thousands have continued making the journey despite the hostilities and official travel warnings.
Ukrainian authorities expect as many as 40,000 this year.

A published sponsorship agreement shows the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews committed $700,000 to Turning Point USA for a multi-year campaign that delivered Israeli activism directly into the conservative youth movement.
The Grayzone reported that it obtained the 2025–2027 document, dated May 16, 2025. It names TPUSA and IFCJ as the parties and schedules payments of $300,000 in 2025, then $200,000 in both 2026 and 2027.
The contract purchased more than a logo. It calls for a 2025–2027 Israel Activism Kit campaign, with kits sent to more than 200 campuses. It also granted IFCJ video slots, main-stage speaking time, booths, branding, text and email promotion, and sponsor access across TPUSA student and faith events.
The document records the contractual commitment. It does not, by itself, show bank transfers clearing the full $700,000.
The relationship is not a one-off allegation. TPUSA Faith’s current Make Heaven Crowded Tour lists IFCJ as a sponsor. IFCJ also confirmed that its president, Yael Eckstein, spoke at TPUSA’s 2026 Women’s Summit.
IFCJ openly works with Israeli state institutions. The Israeli government’s Foreign Ministry announced that its Government Press Office and ministry co-hosted a 2025 Christian Media Summit with IFCJ, a conference devoted in part to Israeli public diplomacy.
The timing gave the deal political weight. The Grayzone tied the May 2025 agreement to Charlie Kirk’s increasingly public criticism of pressure from pro-Israel donors. Kirk discussed that pressure on an August 2025 Megyn Kelly program. The outlet reported that TPUSA buried that criticism after Kirk’s death while preserving IFCJ sponsorship.
IFCJ acknowledged to The Grayzone that it had sponsored TPUSA events but declined questions about the contract. TPUSA did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment.
The written record exposes a simple fact: an organization partnered with Israel’s government paid for privileged access to an American conservative movement’s pastors, students, stages, and mailing lists.

FOIA Records Appear To Reveal Kash Patel’s Priority Is Tracking Down His Critics
Records appear to reveal that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has made tracking down his critics a priority.
The FOIA records appear to show Patel directing his team on Feb. 5 to identify social media accounts criticizing him and respond to them.
The directive was contained in a text exchange between Patel and the FBI’s assistant director for public affairs, included in the latest tranche of records released by the government as part of its review of materials related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the exchange, Patel appeared focused on the reach of posts criticizing him and shared an account with his public affairs assistant director (AD) to examine. The aide characterized the account as an “‘Epstein didn’t kill himself bot account,’” while offering Patel an explanation: “if you are wondering where it’s coming from.”
Patel pushed back on the suggestion that the engagement was largely bot-generated, arguing that the account’s reach represented genuine attention. “277k responses are not bots,” Patel wrote.
He then reminded the aide that he had specifically instructed his team to identify the accounts behind the criticism and engage with them by highlighting the FBI’s accomplishments. “What I asked you and your team to do is find them, and post our record year results back at them all, continuously,” Patel wrote, before asking whether the aide had “been doing that.”
The aide appeared to distinguish between the number of responses and the post’s overall visibility, explaining that the engagement Patel cited did not necessarily translate into meaningful reach. “That’s views - it’s 400 responses; a real visible tweet gets 5x that,” the aide wrote.
The exchange also included discussion of whether responding directly to certain accounts could create a negative impression of Patel. At one point, an aide warned that responding to an account called “RetardFinder” would “look bad” on the FBI director.
Patel then clarified his reasoning, writing, “it’s not about them, it is about the number of views, because people see it and need to be seeing our stats.”
The exchange comes as Patel and the FBI have faced scrutiny over their handling of the Epstein files and the bureau’s investigation into the convicted sex offender.
During a September 2025 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy questioned Patel about whether Epstein had trafficked women to anyone other than himself.
Kennedy noted that Patel had reviewed most of the Epstein files and pressed him on whether the records contained evidence of other individuals receiving trafficking victims.
Patel said the information available to the FBI was “limited,” but told Kennedy there was “no credible information” indicating Epstein had trafficked women to anyone besides himself.
The Daily Caller reached out to the FBI for comment, and the bureau replied that it had no comment.

This is not the first time that Cynthia McKinney has shared antisemitic claims in public or on her social media.
Former Democratic Congresswoman and Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney tweeted a dangerously antisemitic trope on Monday afternoon, accusing the Jews of being behind the 9/11 bombings.This tweet has since been removed for violating Twitter rules.
McKinney shared a picture of the Twin Towers burning, with a hand slotting in a puzzle piece with "Zionists" written across it, to make up the full sentence "Zionists did it." She captioned the tweet "The Final Piece of the Puzzle."
Among those to condemn her antisemitic conspiracy was New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman.
"At a time when antisemitic hate is increasing nationwide & solidarity has never been more important, this is what we're not going to do. This is antisemitic. It is hateful. It is misguided and ignorant," he said.

In contrast to the condemnation from Bowman and other public figures, Maram Susli, a Syrian Australian YouTube creator, known by her social media handle "PartisanGirl," tweeted her agreement in the replies, saying "to skeptics, read this," with a link to an article claiming to prove the dangerous theory. McKinney later retweeted Susli's reply, continuing to push the conspiracy by doing so.
Susli, a self-described geopolitical analyst, has been involved in a number of antisemitic scandals herself.
This is not the first time that McKinney has shared antisemitic claims in public or on her social media. In 2009, she accused "the pro-Israel lobby of sabotaging her political career," according to the Anti-Defamation League. She has also referred to conspiracies regarding the Rothschilds, which claim that the famous Jewish family controls the world's wealth and financial institutions in past tweets, and has shared claims that "powerful people conspire to kidnap children and have blood rituals," a belief which is directly linked to antisemitic blood libel.
Following the US strike that killed Qasem Soleimani in January 2020, McKinney took to Twitter, saying: “Guaranteed: Trump’s statement about Soleimani and Iran was written in Israel. ALL LIES. Donald Trump [is a] Zionist puppet.”
Most recently, in May 2020 she shared a link to a Haaretz article and said, in a display of Holocaust denial, that "the figure [of Jews killed in the Holocaust] wasn't six million after all."

Israeli left-wing newspaper Haaretz rejected three demands Thursday by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid being sued and vowed to reveal the truth in court.
The dispute concerns a report published Tuesday by the newspaper that said Netanyahu received a warning from United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a call before Oct. 7, 2023, that Hamas was planning to launch an attack.
Netanyahu denied having any contact with the UAE president or receiving any warning from him. The UAE Foreign Ministry said it does not comment on reports of talks between government leaders.
Haaretz said in a statement that it recently sent a response to Netanyahu’s lawyers rejecting his threat to sue the newspaper and journalists Shlomi Eldar and Ruti Yuval.
The newspaper said the report concerned a warning from the UAE president to Netanyahu 10 days before the Oct. 7 attack about a major operation that late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning against Israel.
The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, attacked military bases and settlements near the Gaza Strip, killing and capturing Israelis.
Israeli military, intelligence and political officials have described the attack as an unprecedented political, security and military failure in Israel’s history.
While several security, military and political officials have acknowledged responsibility for the failure, Netanyahu has rejected responsibility and instead blamed the military.
Haaretz said the report was “the product of an in-depth, well-sourced journalistic investigation into a matter of the utmost public interest.”
The newspaper told Netanyahu’s lawyer that“in the absence of full accountability to the public on behalf of your client, the press is fulfilling its role and revealing information to the public, piece by piece.”
It rejected Netanyahu’s demands to remove the report, issue an apology, and pay 1 million shekels ($331,000) as part of a settlement, coupled with a threat to file a lawsuit seeking more than 2.5 million shekels ($827,000).
The newspaper stressed that the demands and threat to sue reveal the true nature of Netanyahu’s approach, “the sole purpose of which is to silence journalistic criticism.”
Haaretz said it received a warning letter Wednesday from Netanyahu in response to its publication of the report.
Also Wednesday, Netanyahu instructed his team to file a defamation lawsuit against Haaretz, the journalists and “other elements” he did not identify.
Netanyahu ignored the “UAE warning” about the possibility of a Hamas attack and did not inform the military or the Shin Bet security agency, according to the newspaper.
While declining to comment on the report by Haaretz, the UAE Foreign Ministry said that Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv have maintained “open and direct channels of communication” since establishing relations more than five years ago, through which they exchange intelligence when necessary.
Since Oct. 8, 2023, Israel has carried out a genocidal war in Gaza that has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000, most of them women and children, according to Palestinian authorities.

British intelligence reported in February 2002 that the Israeli Mossad ran
the Arab hijacker cells that were later blamed by the U.S. government's 9/11
Commission for carrying out the aerial attacks on the World Trade Center and
Pentagon. WMR has received details of the British intelligence report which
was suppressed by the government of then-Prime Minister Tony Blair.
A Mossad unit consisting of six Egyptian- and Yemeni-born Jews infiltrated
"Al Qaeda" cells in Hamburg (the Atta-Mamoun Darkanzali cell), south Florida,
and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates in the months before 9/11. The Mossad
not only infiltrated cells but began to run them and give them specific
orders that would eventually culminate in their being on board four
regularly-scheduled flights originating in Boston, Washington Dulles, and
Newark, New Jersey on 9/11.
The Mossad infiltration team comprised six Israelis, comprising two cells of
three agents, who all received special training at a Mossad base in the Negev
Desert in their future control and handling of the "Al Qaeda" cells. One
Mossad cell traveled to Amsterdam where they submitted to the operational
control of the Mossad's Europe Station, which operates from the El Al complex
at Schiphol International Airport. The three-man Mossad unit then traveled to
Hamburg where it made contact with Mohammed Atta, who believed they were sent
by Osama Bin Laden. In fact, they were sent by Ephraim Halevy, the chief of
Mossad.
The second three-man Mossad team flew to New York and then to southern
Florida where they began to direct the "Al Qaeda" cells operating from
Hollywood, Miami, Vero Beach, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach. Israeli
"art students," already under investigation by the Drug Enforcement
Administration for casing the offices and homes of federal law enforcement
officers, had been living among and conducting surveillance of the
activities, including flight school training, of the future Arab "hijacker"
cells, particularly in Hollywood and Vero Beach.
In August 2001, the first Mossad team flew with Atta and other Hamburg "Al
Qaeda" members to Boston. Logan International Airport's security was
contracted to Huntleigh USA, a firm owned by an Israeli airport security firm
closely connected to Mossad — International Consultants on Targeted
Security – ICTS. ICTS's owners were politically connected to the Likud
Party, particularly the Netanyahu faction and then-Jerusalem mayor and future
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. It was Olmert who personally interceded with New
York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to have released from prison five Urban Moving
Systems employees, identified by the CIA and FBI agents as Mossad agents. The
Israelis were the only suspects arrested anywhere in the United States on
9/11 who were thought to have been involved in the 9/11 attacks.
The two Mossad teams sent regular coded reports on the progress of the 9/11
operation to Tel Aviv via the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC. WMR has
learned from a Pentagon source that leading Americans tied to the media
effort to pin 9/11 on Arab hijackers, Osama Bin Laden, and the Taliban were
present in the Israeli embassy on September 10, 2001, to coordinate their
media blitz for the subsequent days and weeks following the attacks. It is
more than likely that FBI counter-intelligence agents who conduct
surveillance of the Israeli embassy have proof on the presence of the
Americans present at the embassy on September 10. Some of the Americans are
well-known to U.S. cable news television audiences.
In mid-August, the Mossad team running the Hamburg cell in Boston reported to
Tel Aviv that the final plans for 9/11 were set. The Florida-based Mossad
cell reported that the documented "presence" of the Arab cell members at
Florida flight schools had been established.
The two Mossad cells studiously avoided any mention of the World Trade Center
or targets in Washington, DC in their coded messages to Tel Aviv. Halevy
covered his tracks by reporting to the CIA of a "general threat" by an attack
by Arab terrorists on a nuclear plant somewhere on the East Coast of the
United States. CIA director George Tenet dismissed the Halevy warning as "too
non-specific." The FBI, under soon-to-be-departed director Louis Freeh,
