Well, hear something in this case.

In my backyard pottering and I hear beeping, medium pitched clear that goes on for some time coming from my neighbours open house which is less than 10 feet from our mutual fence.

All quiet except for the beeping.

After a while it stops and immediately the whole family bursts into noisy animation like they were switched on.

It was so odd.

I’ve thought about it often and wondered about it.

Never heard the beeping on any other occasion.
