That is a bold faced lie.

Trump appealed to the Democratic Governor of Colorado is Jared Polis. Polis commuted Ms. Peters sentence, despite being criticized by members of his own Democratic party.

Trump had appealed on the basis of Ms. Peters age and the amount of time she had served was sufficient for the "crime" she was accused of and found guilty; although Trump wasn't invoking his appeal due to his disbelief of Peters guilt or innocence.

Polis deemed her continued imprisonment, with her health conditions and age, would no longer serve the people of Colorado any significant benefit.

Commutation vs. Pardon: Governor Polis did not issue a pardon, meaning Peters' felony convictions remain fully on her record. Instead, he commuted her nearly nine-year sentence to four years and 4.5 months, making her eligible for parole effective June 1, 2026, which resulted in her release from prison.

Polis' Reasoning: Governor Polis stated his decision was based on the belief that Peters' original sentence was "disparately harsh" and "extremely unusual" for a 70-year-old, first-time, non-violent offender. He echoed a state appeals court's findings that the trial judge had improperly factored Peters' protected political speech and conspiratorial beliefs into the severity of her punishment.

Anon may have missed Trump making that claim of a pardon, he does say some things off the cuff, exaggerating his influence or role he played. Therefore your assertion may be true.

If Anon was hurt or offended by my initial statement of "is a bold face lie" please accept my apology.
