Source in the intel community tells me Vladimir Putin has ordered an inter agency audit of the RDIF Russian Direct Investment Fund. This is the fund established in 2011 by the Russian government with the stated goal to make investments in companies of high-growth sectors of the Russian economy.
@kadmitriev Kirill Dmitriev is the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
This is a big deal because Kirill Dmitriev is Russia’s “peace puppet” who has met with the US negotiators, including @SEPeaceMissions Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner @jaredkushner. He often travels to the US where he meets with US Reps.
The audit was supposed to begin in August, but Putin is now getting tired of the delays and Dmitriev’s poor performance. This suggests Putin is getting nervous about the lack of economic growth in Russia and needs a fall guy to blame.
Putin ordered the audit after Kirill Dmitriev failed to deliver on a multitude of projects.
I wonder what Putin will do to @kadmitriev…. It likely won’t be peaceful.
