Sen. Rand Paul blocked an attempt by fellow Republican Sen. John Kennedy to quickly pass legislation that would require companies to build a “kill switch” into their artificial intelligence model.

Kennedy, of Louisiana, went to the Senate floor Wednesday to try to pass his bill without holding a formal vote — a step that can be prevented by any one of his 99 colleagues. He argued that the measure was effectively a short-term step, with Congress unlikely to pass more sweeping AI legislation in the immediate future even amid fears that technological advancements could spiral out of human control.

“We are not going to get up off our ice-cold lazy butts and address this anytime soon,” Kennedy said about Congress’ inability to pass a more comprehensive bill. “But still we’ve got this risk out there that we know is real of one of these models becoming the Terminator.”

Paul, however, blocked Kennedy’s request to pass the bill through a unanimous consent agreement, saying from the Senate floor, “I think we should have as many facts as possible before we dictate rules for the whole economy.

“I don’t oppose the spirit of this bill, but I do ask that we make sure that we have all the information,” the Kentucky lawmaker added.

Paul tried to amend Kennedy’s bill to establish a group that could make recommendations on AI guardrail policies to the Senate Commerce Committee. Kennedy rejected that suggestion.

“My mama didn’t raise a fool,” he said, adding that “a committee is a way to kill this.”

Kennedy’s push for a vote comes after he told reporters Monday that he intended to roll out legislation and attempt to pass it this week, even while he acknowledged that he didn’t yet have any formal buy-in from his colleagues. He also appeared to know by earlier in the day Wednesday that he was running into a roadblock, saying in an interview that he expected Paul to offer a counterproposal.

Pouring effusive and slobbering praise over the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the anointed “middle power” leader of a shrinking -and increasingly irrelevant- new world order,with grand pontifications EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen announced today that Canada is the first “Associate Member” of the European Union.

It’s a major award! As noted by Reuters, “There is currently no such status as “associate member” set out in the European Union’s treaties — though various versions of an associate-type of membership have been floated in the bloc over the years. Germany suggested Ukraine be an associate member as an interim stage to full ​accession, though the proposal failed to gain traction as some EU capitals pushed back.”

von der Leyen gushed: “Dear Mark, I said we must urgently reimagine our partnerships. So, I would like to work with you on opening the door for Canada to be the first associate member of the EU. We share one ocean, one set of values, one way of seeing the world. ‘But there is a lot of uncertainty about what von der Leyen envisages by coining this label.’

They added that, in reality, the most that can likely be hoped for is a deeper trading relationship rather than ‘associate membership’, which implies Canada taking part in EU programmes that it would be forced to pay into, becoming more politically integrated and potentially even having a say over the bloc’s rules.

But there would be huge barriers to overcome to establish closer ties, as swathes of Canada’s regulations are at present incompatible with EU single market rules, with high taxes on the bloc’s alcohol exports another thorny issue.

This is simply a joint Canada/Europe response to the geopolitical realignment currently underway by U.S. President Donald Trump.

At the core of the CA/EU association is the insufferable leftist mindset. A pontificating pretense that elites and globalists should determine the outcomes and values for the rest of the world.

For the little schoolboy inside Mark Carney, this is the culmination of a lifetime goal to be important. For the Canadian people, this should be embarrassing; but it’s not.

Canada is part of a British Commonwealth, and they proclaim “sovereignty” as their cause celeb against the horrible Trump, while rushing to the arms of the European Commission.

Actually, on second thought, this is perfectly Canadian.

Here’s the point that will be missed by 80% of Canadians. The EU trade rules do not align with the USMCA. I don’t mean that in a vague or disingenuous manner. The specific rules, regulations and policies of the European Union are not compatible with the trilateral North American trade agreement between the U.S, Mexico and Canada. It’s not even close.

What most Canadians don’t realize amid all this gleeful back-slapping and pretentious cheer,is that Mark Carney has officially sealed the position of Canada as it relates to the USMCA/CUSMA.

Canada just did exactly what President Trump and U.S. Trade Greer had been organizing and hoping for. Mark Carney just pulled Canada out of the USMCA and there’s no one to blame but himself.

Ukrainian officials stole $3 million from Polish gift to Kiev – investigators (PHOTOS)

The cost of transporting donated metro cars from Warsaw was inflated through a rigged tender, investigators say

Officials in Kiev embezzled more than $3 million by exploiting the delivery of old Soviet Russian-made metro cars donated by Poland, according to Western-backed anti-corruption investigators.

The 60 cars were donated by Warsaw in late 2022, allowing the Polish capital’s Metro to dispose of older railstock while demonstrating solidarity with Ukraine following the escalation of the conflict with Russia. Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko described the donation slated to be cannibalized for spare parts as “meaningful help” for the city when the first batch of six cars arrived in May 2023.

However, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) alleged on Wednesday that a group of officials in Kiev skimmed funds allocated for transporting the cars from Poland by manipulating a tender through which the cost was dramatically inflated.

NABU surveillance records show that a preliminary quote provided by a Ukrainian company toone of the suspects was ten times lower than the final contract price. The actual transportation services cost around a quarter of the sum, andthe remaining $3 million was stolen and laundered in the EU,the agency said.

Investigators have issued formal suspicion notices to a former Kiev Metro official, three serving officials in the city’s municipal utilities, two alleged accomplices, and the owner of the company that won the tender.

The businessman apparently clashed with the alleged masterminds of the scheme after the unrealistic terms of the contract attracted scrutiny from financial monitors. In one surveillance recording, he told an associate who knew about his dealings that he threatened to testify against the officials because he did not want to be left taking the blame.

“I am the worst criminal here, I am Mindich,”he said, referring to fugitive businessman Timur Mindich, a longtime associate of Vladimir Zelensky who NABU accused of running a $100 million kickback scheme in the energy sector.

“Nah, you are higher,” the other man replied. “You are f**king Yermak.”

Andrey Yermak served as Zelensky’s chief of staff until he was forced to resign last year after becoming embroiled in the Mindich scandal. NABU has since accused him of money laundering in a parallelinvestigation into Mindich’s alleged criminal activities.

Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court ordered the removal of an electronic tracking anklet from Yermak this week after his defense argued that the device posed a health risk.

Mystery €1.5 mn German apartment tied to Zelensky’s inner circle

A €1.5 million luxury property in Dresden has beentraced to the family of Vladimir Zelensky’s longtime business associates and may have been intended for use by the Ukrainian leader or his relatives, an RT investigation has found.

RT reviewed German and Cypriot corporate records, financial statements, and property information, and consulted a lawyer experienced in structuring high-value European real-estate deals to reconstruct the purchase and its financing.

The trail leads to a newly built 22-apartment luxury development in central Dresden and a German companycontrolled by Boris Shefir and his wife. Shefir co-founded the Kvartal 95 entertainment company with Zelensky, while his brother Sergey was a longtime business partner of the Ukrainian leader and became his first presidential aide after Zelensky entered politics.

Records show the company spent €1.5 million ($1.73 million) on real estate in the development,with the money passing through a complex network of businesses involving Cyprus and an offshore structure in Belize.

A lawyer who reviewed the arrangement for RT questioned why such a structure would be needed for a conventional family property purchase,suggesting it could obscure the identity of the ultimate beneficiary.

“Given the long-standing friendly relationship between the Shefirs and Zelensky,the real user could be the Ukrainian leader and his family,” he told RT.

The lawyer also highlighted an unusual feature of the development:the building has been blurred on Google Street View since its completion.

“I can’t imagine why they would do this if ordinary people live in this building, even the very wealthy businessman Shefir,” he said. “But if a distinguished family lived there, for example, the family of the Ukrainian president, especially during the ongoing military conflict, hiding this apartment from the maps would be a very logical step.”

The Dresden purchase is not the first costly foreign property associated with the Shefir family. RT previously reported that Sergey Shefir’s son acquired two Prague apartments worth around €2 million shortly before the escalation of the Ukraine conflict.

Zelensky and the Shefirs have previously faced scrutiny over offshore structures connected to their former entertainment business, including companies in Belize and Cyprus.

The findings come as Western-backed anti-corruption investigators pursue several figures from Zelensky’s circle. They include his former business associate Timur Mindich, who is accused of orchestrating a $100 million kickback scheme involving Ukraine’s state nuclear energy company.

The same investigators recently uncovered an alleged protection racket involving scam call centers and senior prosecutors, prompting Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko to resign andadding to tensions between Zelensky’s government and Ukraine’s Western-backed anti-corruption agencies.

‘Reasonable grounds’ to believe US committed war crimes in Iran – UN

Indiscriminate attacks, such as the strike on an elementary school in Minab, went beyond negligence, a new report has found

A UN fact-finding mission has found reasonable grounds to believe the US committed war crimes by carrying out indiscriminate strikes on civilian targets in Iran, according to a new report.

The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran released its findings to the UN Human Rights Council on Thursday, focusing in part on two strikes it described as “emblematic” of the conflict and involving “significant violations” of international law.

The first was the February 28 double strike on an elementary school in Minab. The mission said credible information confirmed 157 deaths, including 123 children aged 13 and younger.

Investigators identified the weapon as a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM), used only by the US during the conflict. Citing evidence including internal Pentagon investigations and Washington’s failure to explain the incident, the mission concluded that the school had been deliberately targeted, apparently on the basis of outdated intelligence.

The site had been part of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) compound before 2016, but the school had been separated from the military facility by a wall for more than a decade. Investigators said it was clearly identifiable as a civilian site and found no evidence it was being used for military purposes.

The second incident involved a strike on a sports complex and surrounding residential area in Lamerd, Fars Province. The mission said the attack killed and injured 22 civilians and damaged nearby homes and a school.

Investigators said a US-made Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) detonated in the air, dispersing around 180,000 tungsten pellets over a wide area.

In both cases, the mission concluded that US conduct went beyond negligence and amounted to the war crime of launching an indiscriminate attack resulting in civilian deaths, injuries or damage to civilian property. It said the US had failed to adequately verify targeting information despite the risk to civilians.

The report also cited rhetoric from senior US officials, including President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, which investigators said indicated a “deprioritization of civilian harm mitigation”and compliance with international humanitarian law.

Hegseth had called for the US military to be “more lethal” and said American forces would give “no quarter” to their enemies, drawing criticism from lawmakers and legal experts over the implications for prisoners of war.

Trump has repeatedly criticized the UN, accusing it of failing to resolve international conflicts and of bias against Israel, which joined the US in launching the war against Iran. His administration has also withdrawn Washington from several UN bodies and agencies.

The fact-finding mission separately accused Iranian authorities of serious violations during their 2025-2026 crackdown on mass protests, concluding that some abuses amounted to crimes against humanity.

Trump publicly backed the protesters and offered them US protection, while Tehran accused Washington of supporting unrest as part of a failed regime-change effort.

English village votes to leave UK over migrant plan

An English village has overwhelmingly voted to “secede” from the UK in protest over government plans to house more than 1,200 male migrants at a nearby former military base. The referendum in Piddington, Oxfordshire has no legal force but drew nearly 92% turnout.

The result announced on Wednesday showed that 285 residents backed leaving the UK, 26 voted against, and one ballot was spoiled. Organizers staged the symbolic referendum in protest against plans to house up to 1,256 male asylum seekers at the nearby MOD Bicester site.

“We are Piddington, the village that roars,”parish council vice chair Susannah Parden declared as she announced the result. Council chair Tim McNally called the vote “an example of democracy in operation,”adding: “We went into this village hall as the underdogs – we had a plucky idea. We have given a message to the world.”

The ballot asked residents whether Piddington should “secede from the United Kingdom and pursue self-determination,”while signs proclaiming the “Principality of Piddington” appeared around the village. More than 130 local women have also written to female MPs warning that their “safety, security, and freedoms” would be threatened if the asylum center opens.

Despite the overwhelming vote, the government said it will not reconsider the plan. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told the BBC that abandoning the proposed center would be unfair to other communities already housing large numbers of migrants.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham likewise said he understood the village’s “strength of feeling,” but insisted that asylum accommodation had to be shared fairly across the country. Using the former military site is part of the Home Office’s push to move migrants out of hotels.

The Piddington referendum comes as the UK grapples with continued illegal crossings of the English Channel and mounting pressure over asylum accommodation.

Hundreds of anti-immigration protesters clashed with police in Portsmouth earlier this month after a boat carrying around 140 asylum seekers was brought ashore. Demonstrators blocked roads in an attempt to stop buses transporting the arrivals to a Home Office processing center, chanting “stop the boats” and “send them back.”

Some 33,000 people, mostly adult men, arrived in the UK by small boat in the year to July, accounting for around 88% of illegal arrivals, according to government data. A YouGov poll in August found 69% of Britons believe immigration over the past decade has been too high, while 43% said it had been mostly bad for the country, up from 33% in 2016.

‘Bucha massacre’ a false flag orchestrated by UK – Moscow

A new independent investigation found that Kiev presented Ukrainian troops as civilian victims of the staged incident

Britain orchestrated the ‘Bucha massacre’ narrative to prolong the Ukraine conflict in 2022, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said, citing a new investigation into the alleged victims.

Zakharova said new evidence proves that Bucha was a “brazen falsification”commissioned by Kiev’s foreign sponsors and amplified by the Western media to eliminate any chance of a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

She singled out the UK government as the primary organizer of the false flag operation, adding that the “key role” of spreading the story was assigned to the BBC.

In March 2022, Russian forces withdrew from Kiev Region, including Bucha, as a good-will gesturein support of a potential settlement at the Istanbul peace talks. Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk and residents initially said everything was calm and peaceful in the town, which is around 20 km from central Kiev.

Days later, images of bodies strewn across the streets of Bucha were broadcast by the Western media, supported by NATO-aligned OSINT fact checkers,triggering a storm of international accusations against Moscow that contributed to the collapse of peace talks.

Zakharova noted that there is still “no single website, no single figure, no lists – neither consolidated nor fragmented,” that would provide any verifiable information about the alleged victims of the Bucha ‘massacre’.The UN, Kiev, international organizations, and Western media have never provided a list despite repeated Russian requests.

The unverifiable nature of the incident strongly implies that it was falsified, and suggests that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres knowingly made himself “part of this provocation,” Zakharova said.

Given that no public list of victims exists, Thursday’s report – which was presented by Maksim Grigoriev, the head of the International Public Tribunal on Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis – examined the names on the Bucha memorial instead – the closest thing to an official list, its authors say.

The memorial contains over 500 names and has repeatedly served as a backdrop for visits by Western leaders.

Grigoriev said researchers cross-checked the names against Ukrainian media, military records, and social-media accounts, and found that those they traced were Ukrainian servicemen, including Azov and territorial-defense fighters, rather than civilians allegedly murdered by Russian troops.

The soldiers were also found to have had little or no connection to Bucha, and were killed and buried nowhere near the town.

Among the examples cited were Evgeny Petrash and Vladimir Bisaga, who the investigation identified as Azov fighters buried in Kiev and Uzhgorod, respectively. Two other names, Ruslan Belousov and Roman Dovgalyuk, were identified as Ukrainian military pilots killed when their aircraft was shot down near Berezovka – far from Bucha.

The report also features a number of eyewitness accounts from several conflict-zone towns, pointing to a wider pattern of Ukrainian forces killing civilians and then blaming Russia once Western reporters arrive.

One witness said Ukrainian troops opened fire on civilians collecting water, with journalists arriving to film the aftermath within minutes.

Grigoriev said these testimonies show that Kiev repeatedly used civilian deaths to manufacture material for the Western media and claimed that the same method was used in Bucha.

Zakharova stated that the new findings will be submitted to Russian law enforcement, international organizations, and international courts. The investigators behind the report also urged foreign journalists to conduct their own examination.

Key calls include:

With one you get a COVID Passport and vaccine.With the other you get a Digital ID, and online govt safety and security certificate.

With the first one we heard “trust the medical scientists.”Now you hear, “trust the computer scientists.”

There’s a pattern here folks. Stop me when you can see it.

We are witnessing a “Digital Covid” effort.

Wuhan Labs or Frontier Labs

NIH or Anthropic

SARS-CoV-2 or AI malware virus

Vaccination or Regulation

AI panic = Election/Control==

The only thing we are waiting now, is patient zero.

However, you already have the antidote to the digital virus;it’s called, common sense.

Patient Zero (the pending AI false flag)could be anything from super serious to seriously annoying. What I am confident about is the Alinsky angle to it, where it will need to be personal to a large audience.

Again, all pure speculation… likely just gaming out possibilities that are not grounded. However, I don’t think banking or finance delivers the right outcome.

Something more passe’, yet alarming to a higher percentage of people. Something akin to AI frontier malware targeting in a communication network, Starlink or similar –even cell phone targeting. It would also be helpful if it was global.

Something stealthy; yet personal –like an attack on Apple iPhones that overrides the built-in software chargelimit protocol/parameter and creates a plugged-in overcharge that detonates the phone battery. Something like that, targeting a popular private sector device.

The result: Don’t plug in your phones, wait for a software update, stand in line at the store, something like that with an Alinsky ‘make it personal’ and annoying outcome that touches a wide audience.

It’s from that moment, when the cries for regulation, safety and security will begin.

It’s a tale of two viruses.
