Export restrictions on critical materials and energy products are adding economic pressure worldwide, raising the risk that supply disruptions and retaliatory measures widen existing conflicts. The most pressing news so far this morning is that Ukraine launched a major overnight drone strike on Russia, hitting a Moscow refinery despite President Trump's request for Ukraine to stop striking Russian energy infrastructure as a global refining crisis deepens.

Bloomberg reports that the Gazprom Neft-owned Moscow Oil Refinery, about 16 miles from the Kremlin, was struck by drones. The facility has a processing capacity of around 245,000 barrels a day and supplies fuel to the surrounding metro area.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X, "One of Russia's key oil industry facilities and the aggressor’s logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that sustain the war machine. The systems used included FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican."

Last week, diesel futures and refining spreads climbed to record highs as worsening supply disruptions in the Gulf and Russia tightened availability of the industrial fuel that powers the global economy.

Potential export restrictions, or extensions of existing restrictions, are compounding the squeeze. A report on Tuesday said Moscow was considering extending its diesel export ban, while Senate Majority Leader John Thune told reporters that day he was "open to exploring" a US diesel export ban.

The squeeze was even more severe in refining spreads. The US heating oil crack, which measures the difference between fuel and crude prices, surged to $117 a barrel on Wednesday, the highest level in Bloomberg data going back to 2009.

A worsening ocean freight price shock is reviving concerns about the supply-chain disruptions seen during the pandemic and the 2024 Red Sea crisis.

If continued through the fall and winter, higher shipping costs could intensify inflationary pressure, squeeze corporate margins, and weaken growth. Together, these factors raise the risk of a broader economic shock, particularly if diesel prices remain elevated.

Bank of America retail analyst Lorraine Hutchinson warned in a note Saturday that ocean freight rates have jumped 201%, approaching the 250% spike seen during the 2021 container ship shortage. Meanwhile, AAA national average diesel prices near $6.50 a gallon are crushing truckers' margins and boosting rates on the nation's highways.

"We see the current surge as something of a perfect storm, with vessel supply tightening and demand firing in both basins at the same time," Thurlestone Shipping analysts said.

Israel wipes criminal record of soldier who shot wounded Palestinian

Elor Azaria shot Abdel Fattah al-Sharif, an alleged knife attacker who was already incapacitated by IDF troops, in a controversial 2016 case

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has cleared the criminal record of former IDF soldier Elor Azaria, who was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a wounded and incapacitated Palestinian dead in Hebron in 2016.

The case dates back to 2016, when Azaria, then an IDF sergeant and medic, was filmed shooting alleged knife attacker Abdel Fattah al-Sharif in Hebron’s Tel Rumeida neighborhood.

According to accounts of the incident, al-Sharif and another Palestinian man, Ramzi Aziz al-Tamimi al-Qasrawi, approached an Israeli military post and stabbed an Israeli soldier, lightly injuring him. Qasrawi was subsequently shot and killed by Israeli forces. Al-Sharif was shot, seriously wounded, and left lying on the ground. Several minutes later, Azaria approached him and shot him in the head.

The shooting was filmed by a human rights activist. Azaria was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison, despite prosecutors seeking a three- to five-year term. His sentence was later commuted to 14 months, and he was released in May 2018 after serving nine months.

Footage of Azaria shooting an already incapacitated Palestinian sparked international outrage. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called it an “extrajudicial execution” and a war crime, saying the video “demolished all the slogans chanted by the occupation leaders about the ethics of the Israeli army.”

Israeli rights group B’Tselem described it as an “extrajudicial street killing.” The UN human rights office called Azaria’s sentence “excessively lenient,” warning that it will reinforce “the culture of impunity.” The case also divided Israeli public opinion and contributed to tensions between political leaders and the military, with then-Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon later resigning.

Despite the controversy, Herzog’s office announced on Saturday that he shortened the remaining period before Azaria’s record could be erased, effectively clearing it.

“The president believes that the circumstances as a whole, the passage of time, and the regret he expressed justify allowing him to open a new chapter in his life,” the President’s Office said.

Since 2025, Trump Made More Stock Trades Than All 535 Congress Members Combined

This amounts to more than 80 trades per market day for the president in his first 17 months back in office.

President Donald Trump made nearly 30,000 stock trades since his return to office, marking a far higher volume of trades than all 535 members of Congress combined, a new Bloomberg analysis finds.

Between his inauguration in January 2025 and the end of June, Trump and his team made nearly 28,700 trades, his financial disclosures show. That amounts to roughly 80 trades per market day for nearly a year and a half.

In that period, House lawmakers reported making 19,400 stock trades, while senators reported 2,900, for a total of 22,300 transactions. A few lawmakers were responsible for a large portion of the trades, like Rep. Ro Khanna (D-California), who reported 8,000 transactions in that time.

Trump’s trades have been a major boon for him, as the only modern president who’s ever disclosed trading individual stocks. Previous reports have found that Trump’s 2025 trades alone were worth as much as $1.8 billion, and his trades in the first three months of 2026 were worth as much as $750 million.

These trades have come as he’s driven policy for and outright publicized companies that he has bought stock in; a recent report by Democrats on Congress’s Joint Economic Committee found that Trump has made up to $15.5 million in profits on his oil and gas holdings as the companies’ stocks have risen due to his war on Iran.

Bloomberg also highlights a time when Trump bought as much as $1.4 million in DoorDash stock in the first quarter of 2026, then, in April, staged a stunt where he used DoorDash to deliver McDonald’s to the White House.

The White House has denied accusations of insider trading or improper conduct, saying that his stock portfolio is managed independently and uses a strategy based on computer models. “Neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any ability to direct, influence, or provide input regarding how the portfolio is invested or when investments are bought or sold,” spokesperson Davis Ingle said.

But Trump has also outright opposed any legislation that may prevent him from conducting stock trades — even while he’s backed proposals to bar members of Congress from doing the same.

Last year, Trump attacked Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) for supporting the inclusion of presidents in his bill to ban Congress from trading individual stocks, calling him a “second-tier Senator” and a “pawn” of Democrats.

Even still, during his State of the Union address this year, Trump called for a congressional stock ban to be passed so that members “cannot corruptly profit from using insider information.” Ignoring Trump’s trades, Republicans are using some members’ supposed support of a stock trading ban as a selling point for the party ahead of the midterm elections.

The Mexican Government Is Cutting Off Users Who Refuse to Register Their Phone Lines

Millions of Mexican citizens have had their phone lines disconnected after refusing to register their identities with phone companies.

The Mexican government and Mexican telecommunications companies have disconnected millions of phone lines belonging to citizens who failed to register their phones with their identities. The move comes just two months after the government announced a delay in the registration deadline due to less than half of the country complying.

In early September, Mexico’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) released a statement claiming that about 9.55 million phone numbers ending in “1” were registered. The CRT said about 1.9 million had been temporarily deactivated for failing to register on time. The agency claimed more than 1.16 million were reactivated after registration.

In June, the CRT announced a staggered extension for citizens to register their mobile phone lines with their identification. The new deadlines were based on the final digit of the phone number, with phone numbers ending in “0” given until August 15 to comply, numbers ending in “1” given until September 1, and so on until December 31.

While announcing the numbers for September 1 registration, the CRT reiterated its claimed purpose for linking phone numbers to individual identities, stating:

“This link seeks to eliminate anonymity on mobile lines to contribute to the fight against crimes committed through cell phones, such as fraud and extortion.”

However, since the cancellation of phone lines has begun, Mexican citizens have been posting on social media detailing their skepticism. They are increasingly concerned about how their data might be stored and who might have access to it.

These concerns are particularly prescient after numerous hacks of Mexican government databases, including one in late 2025 in which hackers used Claude AI to gain access to private information. As one user wrote:

“I’m really upset: because they didn’t register my line, they suspended my service and I was left without data. I paid for the phone, I pay the balance, and the service too. Why do I have to give more personal information just to use it? More citizen info doesn’t mean more security.”

Some users said they had registered in time, but were still disconnected.

“They suspended my line, my deadline hasn’t passed yet, the app says my line is already registered… and then what? I’ve been waiting for over two hours for a turn in the chat and on the phone and nothing, just a bot”

This requirement to link a person’s ID with their phone line is a fairly new development in Mexico—one of the few places in the world where individuals could still purchase and use SIM cards in cellphones without registering a name or showing some form of identification.

While many phone users in Mexico have already shared personally identifying information when signing up for their service, many activists, journalists, domestic violence victims, and those seeking anonymity have relied on prepaid anonymous SIM cards. Legislation passed in July 2025 changed this by requiring phone users to register their phone line with proof of identity before June 30, 2026, or face interruption of service.

The Mexican government has claimed the laws will combat organized crime and drug trafficking and aid in the search for missing people. Critics, however, worry that the new laws will increase opportunities for government surveillance.

Mexicans Attempt to Evade Registration

On the eve of the deadline for Mexicans with a number ending in “2,” the media outlet Excelsior released an article detailing how some citizens are using eSIMs, or digital SIMs, that allow users to continue to operate their phones. While the eSIMs do not work perfectly with apps that require SMS text verification, such as WhatsApp, they do allow users to continue using a phone with data so they can access the internet.

In response to the article, the Mexican government issued a press release attempting to discourage the use of eSIMs. The CRT noted that telephone companies have policies prohibiting “permanent roaming” that may prevent users from using foreign SIM cards to operate in Mexico. The CRT also claimed that using eSIM platforms can cost “up to 10 times higher than Mexican market rates.”

“The CRT urges the population not to fall into deceptions of offers on social networks or websites that promise to avoid linking,” the statement concluded.

Though construction has not yet started, President Donald Trump announced Sunday his planned Triumphal Arch project would take on a key national security role.

“At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch, to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage,” the president posted on Truth Social.

“There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World. Out of the 59 top cities and Capitals, Washington, D.C., IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD THAT DOES NOT HAVE A TRIUMPHAL ARCH, but it will now and, by far, the greatest of them all! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he concluded.

After teasing it in October 2025, Trump has continued to promote his vision for a 250-foot triumphal arch situated between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. The arch will “celebrate the triumphs of the American people, inspire patriotism and love of country, and beautify our nation’s capital,” the Department of the Interior, as its sponsor, declared in its project materials.

The arch is currently awaiting final approval from the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC), a federal review panel dominated by Trump appointees. The Commission had been chaired by William Scharf, Trump’s staff secretary who has since been appointed White House counsel, effective Sept. 1. Trump appointed Mark Paolettal, the general counsel of the Office of Management and Budget, as well as the acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, to be the new NCPC chairman on Aug. 26. It does not currently appear that NCPC will consider the project for final approval at its Oct. 1 meeting.

Meanwhile, the project is the subject of a lawsuit filed in February by Public Citizen, a left-wing group — partly funded by leftist billionaire George Soros — which advertises itself as an advocate for consumer protection and government transparency.

Among the lawsuit’s plaintiffs are three Vietnam War veterans and diplomats who object to the proposed arch. They argue the arch “would dishonor their military and foreign service and the legacy of their comrades and other veterans buried at Arlington National Cemetery,” as well as “degrade their personal experience” when traveling through and observing the area.

Iran’s military command says it’s been informed US plans to resume strikes

Iran’s central military command said in a statement on Sunday that it had received information that the United States, with the backing of some regional countries, was preparing to resume military actions against it, state media reported.

The statement said that any US attack would trigger sustained strikes on US bases and interests in the region, warning that regional countries supporting US aggression against Iran would be considered parties to the conflict.

On Saturday, Al Jazeera cited Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei as saying in an interview that Iran had conveyed to mediators its conditions for re-engaging in negotiations aimed at ending the war with the US.

The conditions included ending the war on all fronts, unfreezing Iranian funds and ending the naval blockade, Rezaei said, adding that consultations were continuing with Qatari and Pakistani mediators and that Tehran was awaiting a response from US President Donald Trump.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said his country would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until its conditions were met and US commitments implemented.

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday in a post to Truth Social that he has agreed to a request from the military to transform his proposed triumphal arch near Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC, into a facility for housing and deploying drones and sniper ammunition.

Trump cited national security concerns for the move but did not mention any specific threats in the post.

Growing pushback on Trump's triumphal arch

Trump's plan to build the arch has faced heavy criticism since its announcement for various reasons, including its location and the potential to obstruct views of other monuments in Washington.

The Federal Aviation Administration said last week that the 250-foot (76-meter) arch would not pose a hazard to aircraft but would be required to have an "eternal flame" on top, clearing an aviation hurdle for the arch, which Trump proposed to mark the nation's 250th anniversary.

Aviation experts have raised safety concerns given its proximity to Reagan Washington National Airport while veterans have sued to block the arch, arguing it would destroy the historic sightline between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

US issues security alerts across Middle East

Washington has warned that renewed fighting between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis could “escalate rapidly”

The US has issued security alerts for its citizens across the Middle East, warning of further escalation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

The notices cover Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman.

“Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions,” the US State Department said on Saturday night.

“Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including civilian airports. This military conflict has the potential to escalate rapidly,” the notice read, urging Americans to refrain from traveling to the Middle East.

“Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other US interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions.”

The alert came amid anticipation of potential new US strikes on Iran or Houthi targets in Yemen, as Saudi Arabia reportedly sought assistance in repelling the militant group’s offensive against forces of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

Axios reporter Barak Ravid said US President Donald Trump cut his weekend stay at Camp David short and will return to the White House on Saturday evening, one day earlier than planned.

CNN national security analyst Alex Plitsas cited sources as saying that Trump held a meeting at Camp David to “deliberate and review Yemen strike options.” ABC News previously reported, citing US officials, that Washington would limit its involvement to providing intelligence and targeting assistance to Saudi Arabia.

In recent weeks, the Houthis have expanded the territory they control in western Yemen, capturing the port city of Mokha and Perim Island in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key shipping chokepoint connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden.

Saudi Arabia recently suspended operations on its East-West oil pipeline, also known as Petroline, after it was damaged in a drone attack that Riyadh blamed on Iran-backed militias in Iraq. The pipeline carries crude oil from the kingdom’s eastern oil fields to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.

The Houthis previously declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia in response to what the group described as an illegal siege of the parts of Yemen under its control.

A Saudi-led coalition first intervened in the Yemeni civil war in 2015 after the Houthis captured the capital, Sanaa, the previous year. The current hostilities mark the biggest escalation in the conflict since the UN-brokered truce of 2022.

(You could say that same about any man who supports our own military.) It's also a sign of incredible stupidity. Any man who does this is feminized to the point of no return.

4) Does he read or watch pornography?

This is a big one. As Henry has pointed out in the past, all pornography is homosexual. And as Saint Bruno has pointed out, anyone who persists in repeating the same sin has a demon in him. If your husband, boyfriend, or male acquaintance reads or watches pornography, he is either demon possessed, latently homosexual, or both. In other words, he is feminized to the point where you are NEVER going to make a man out of him.

5) Does he watch sports?

This one is borderline, depending upon the age of the man you're testing. If he's young and he played sports in elementary school, high school or college, he might have some nostalgia for the game. But if he's over the age of thirty and continues to watch sports, or worse, he wears the sports jersey of his favorite athlete, watch out.

One of the reasons why sports are pushed so heavily in our society is to encourage feminized men to develop homoerotic "man-crushes" on their favorite athletes. Ask yourself: when did the gospel of Jesus Christ — a man who famously threw the money changers out of the temple — become a direct deposit line to a foreign state?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say “thou shalt tithe to a geopolitical entity.” The tithe in Scripture went to the Levites, to the temple, to the poor. It was about sustaining the community of believers — not funding a foreign government’s military and settlement enterprise.

But this isn’t really about theology. It’s about money and influence. It always is.
