Hundreds of flights into Newark, New York, Philadelphia disrupted after Verizon fiber line cut
Hundreds of flights were canceled and delayed in and out of the New York City area and Philadelpha after a construction crew accidentally cut a Verizon fiber cable needed for a backup air traffic controller system.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said late Monday that flights are resuming into the New York area.
United Airlines and American Airlines said they would waive change fees for affected travelers.
