The CEO of a Minneapolis autism center under state investigation amid fraud allegations leveled by a former employee has been a fixture in DFL politics for years.

Nimco Ahmed, CEO of Milestone Development Center, is a longtime Democratic activist who appeared alongside Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan in a viral video in which Flanagan donned a hijab, pledged support to Minnesota’s Somali community and described Ahmed as a friend of nearly 25 years.

Now another prominent Minnesota Democrat has surfaced in Ahmed’s political past: Amy Klobuchar.

Alpha News has learned that Ahmed appears to have worked on Klobuchar’s first U.S. Senate campaign in 2006 — with a profile in Mshale from that year reporting that Ahmed joined the “Klobuchar team” and listing her contact email as nahmed@amyklobuchar.com. Multiple other articles from the same outlet identify Ahmed as a staffer for Klobuchar’s 2006 campaign. Additionally, campaign finance records suggest Ahmed was paid nearly $8,000 by the Klobuchar campaign.

The connection is noteworthy as Klobuchar runs for governor in a state rocked by massive fraud involving taxpayer-funded programs — and has made cleaning it up a central part of her campaign.

Klobuchar has promised “immediate action to root out fraud,” including a “top-to-bottom audit” of state government.

Ahmed, meanwhile, runs a taxpayer-funded autism provider currently under investigation by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) amid allegations that it is a “fraudulent” center.

Ahmed has denied any wrongdoing and accused Alpha News of bias for raising questions about the allegations. She has not been charged with a crime, and DHS has not disclosed the scope of its investigation.

Former therapist slams ‘fraudulent’ Minnesota autism centers, including one run by Flanagan ‘friend’

Grant Morgan, a former therapist in Minnesota’s autism program, spoke with Liz Collin about what he calls "fraudulent autism centers,” including one operated by Nimco Ahmed — a “friend” of Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan.

Morgan worked at both Spectrum Therapy Center and Milestone Development Center. According to state records, Ahmed is listed as the CEO of the Milestone Development Center.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) confirmed it has open investigations into both centers. DHS said it cannot provide further details on open investigations. Both centers denied any wrongdoing in interviews with Alpha News.

Morgan said he worked with "people completely unqualified to do the work."

'All Iranian Airlines Will Be Grounded Globally By…': US' New Weapon In War

United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has warned that Iranian airlines could be effectively shut out of international operations from this week, as Washington threatens foreign companies with secondary sanctions if they continue servicing the Islamic republic's carriers.

"All the Iranian airlines will be shut down around the world," Bessent told CNBC in an interview as the US-Iran war nears the seven-month mark.

Bessent's threat went beyond the airlines themselves but also targeted airports, ticketing companies, fuel suppliers, and other support businesses that help air carriers operate abroad.

"How will we do this? If they land, you cannot provide them with fuel, you cannot provide them with landing services, and you cannot sell them tickets or you will be knocked out of the dollar system," he added, saying the airlines could be effectively shut out by September 23.

The threat marks the latest escalation in Washington's economic campaign against Tehran, which is US President Donald Trump's another weapon in the war against Iran. It follows earlier US sanctions on Iran's aviation industry and Bessent's "economic D-Day" threat on Iran and pledge to choke off Tehran financially.

Iran is yet to respond to Bessent's latest economic assault even as several countries have announced they are following through on US threats by banning the operation of sanctioned Iranian airlines.

Two Iraqi sources told news agency AFP that Baghdad would suspend flights by Iranian airlines following the US Treasury's announcement.

Georgia also barred Iranian carriers from its land, while Iranian airline Mahan said it suspended service to Turkey at the request of the Turkish government.

Iran's aviation sector has long grappled with sanctions, which have restricted its ability to acquire aircraft, spare parts, and maintenance services.

The China Angle

Bessent's comments came a day after he met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng for economic talks laying the groundwork for President Donald Trump's summit this Thursday with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

China is one of Iran's top economic partners and diplomatic backers.

US-Iran War

The United States and Iran have been at war since late February, when US-Israeli strikes killed the Islamic republic's supreme leader and senior military officials at the start of a broad offensive. Tehran countered by blocking the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for energy transit, causing global oil prices to surge as the conflict spread in the Middle East.

Earlier this month, the United States said it imposed sanctions on "all remaining Iranian airlines" that had yet to face such penalties. The Treasury Department also took aim at targets for supporting Iran's aviation sector, including firms based outside Iran.

Iran's airspace was completely shut after the US-Israel alliance launched attacks in late February. Since then, some travel has resumed but only for flights run by Iranian carriers.

My opinion only:

Klobuchar has to be under investigation. The investigations in MN should be ongoing and also in Seattle, how many states do this. Guaranteed Democrat states must have similar crimes.

That is why Trump will cancel the upcoming elections. It will be wild. No state and no election will be spared investigations. Just my opinion, and it may be a year or more to straighten out.

(The Daily Signal) — Just this month, the Justice Department arrested or charged at least 22 individuals in voter fraud-related crimes, while the Department of Homeland Security arrested and moved to deport at least four noncitizen voters.

The enforcement comes with weeks to go before the midterm elections, and as Senate Republicans have been unable to pass the SAVE America Act over a Democrat filibuster.

Last week, the Justice Department announced the arrests in Texas, which had more arrests than any single state, as well as Georgia and Michigan, which have competitive Senate races this year. Other states such as Wisconsin, usually a swing state, as well as Idaho, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, saw arrests.

The previous week, federal prosecutors charged six individuals with election crimes in California, Kansas, and Louisiana. Early in the month, the Justice Department made arrests in Pennsylvania.

“If there is fraud in our elections, it needs to be rooted out immediately. I am grateful the Trump administration is taking this seriously and working to get to the bottom of it,” Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., the chairwoman of the House Election Integrity Caucus, told the Daily Signal.

“These arrests are encouraging because they show alleged election crimes are being investigated and enforced. Voter fraud is real, and even one illegal vote can matter in a close election,” Tenney added. “We need to protect every legal vote and enforce our election laws.”

The arrests show why Congress should pass the SAVE America Act, a bill that would require voter ID and proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.

“The recent DOJ arrests for election fraud-related crimes proves that now more than ever the Senate must pass the SAVE Act,” Rep. Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., told the Daily Signal.

He referenced a Pew Research Center survey from last year that found 83% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote.

“Over 80% of Americans want stricter voter ID laws. It is inexcusable for holdout senators to defy the demands of the vast majority of our citizens,” DesJarlais said. “Free and fair elections are what make America the greatest country in the world. As lawmakers we must do everything in our power to protect the integrity and rights of every legal voter in the U.S.”

Last week, the Justice Department announced that eight noncitizens living in Texas are facing charges for alleged unlawful voting or false voter registration.

Also last week, a federal grand jury in Boise, Idaho, indicted an illegal alien from Mexico, alleging that he claimed to be a U.S. citizen to register to vote and thereafter voted in 2022 and 2024.Prosecutors in the Northern District of Georgia arrested three suspected illegal aliens for allegedly voting in U.S. elections. Prosecutors in Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, and New Jersey also brought charges last week.

“For years, the Left mocked anyone who dared question election integrity. They said voter fraud didn’t exist. Twenty-two arrests in a matter of weeks say otherwise. And this is only who has been caught so far,” Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., told the Daily Signal. “One illegal vote is one too many. Wanting secure elections isn’t voter suppression or some outrageous idea. It’s common sense. Accurate voter rolls, verified citizenship, enforced laws, every legal vote protected.”

Two weeks ago, one man was arrested and two others were charged with paying people on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles to sign petitions using the stolen identities of registered voters to qualify ballot initiatives. They were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit identity fraud in furtherance of a state felony.

That same week, a federal grand jury in the District of Kansas charged a noncitizen with illegally voting, and another grand jury in the Western District of Louisiana charged two noncitizens with illegally voting.

In the first week of September, a grand jury in the Middle District of Pennsylvania indicted one noncitizen for allegedly illegal voting, and her husband for allegedly aiding and abetting. A grand jury in the same district indicted an illegal immigrant for voting. That same week, federal prosecutors in New Jersey charged a noncitizen with voting, while Wisconsin prosecutors charged an illegal immigrant with voting.

Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., said the Trump administration first secured the borders and is now “taking action to further secure our elections.”

“These recent arrests make clear that illegal voting and voter registration fraud are real problems, and what we’re seeing is likely only the tip of the iceberg,” Fitzgerald told the Daily Signal.

“I’m proud to have voted for the SAVE America Act, and I’m extremely frustrated that the Senate has failed to act on a measure that will ensure only American citizens can vote in our elections,” Fitzgerald added.

This month, the Department of Homeland Security announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement, working with Homeland Security Investigations, arrested four illegal aliens who voted in past U.S. elections. This followed a DHS directive in June for ICE to enforce stricter penalties for noncitizens who illegally vote in American elections, including deportation.

“While ICE Homeland Security Investigations is not able to comment on any active investigations, HSI is actively rooting out and investigating election fraud wherever it can be found,” a DHS spokesperson told the Daily Signal in an email. “We have repeatedly demonstrated that illegal aliens can and do vote in our elections.”
