Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) tried to take a victory lap Tuesday night. The grassroots took the lap away from him.

Thune posted a slick message claiming Republicans have spent the last two years delivering “more money in your pocket,” “safer streets,” and “more opportunities to get ahead,” while Democrats opposed the agenda “at every turn.”

The numbers tell the story. As of Wednesday morning the tweet had about 1,400 likes and more than 10,500 replies. That is not engagement. That is a public flogging.

Then came the Community Note. X users attached a note that read:

The 119th Congress was the least productive in history — No Congress has enacted less legislation or laws. Johnson has cancelled a total 63 scheduled voting days in the House, granting members an extra 2 months PTO, with no House votes scheduled until after the election.

The note is not the only problem for Thune. The Congressional Record résumé of activity for 2026 makes the Senate bottleneck impossible to spin.

According to the latest Résumé of Congressional Activity covering January 3 through August 31, 2026, the House passed 291 House bills.The Senate passed only 20 of them. That leaves roughly 271 House bills still pending without a Senate floor vote under Leader Thune.

Grassroots organizer Scott Presler’s reply is now the real story. It has more than 12,700 likes, nearly ten times Thune’s original post.

“You have spent the last 2 years doing nothing to secure our elections after Republican voters delivered the popular vote & all 3 branches of gov’t.

Even DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, ‘We have 300,000 [non-citizen registered voters] we’re looking into.’

The question millions of Americans have is why don’t you care about us?”

Voters handed Republicans the White House, the House, and the Senate. They asked for one thing above almost everything else: clean elections. Proof of citizenship to register. Voter ID. Removal of ineligible names from the rolls.

Thune would not do it.

Hunter Eagleman, a retired homicide detective, went straight at the record:

“You literally haven’t don’t shit. Our elections are still NOT secured. 40 MILLION still going to the Taliban. You’ve spent 8 weeks this year on vacation.”

Another user posted a screenshot and wrote: “Yet you refused to pass the SAVE act.”

Michael Flynn Jr. asked the question every patriot has been asking for months: “Are u fckn kidding? Election security anyone?”

Energy Secretary Wright is Correct – Banning Exports of U.S. Diesel only Raises the Price of U.S. Diesel

Speaking to a forum hosted by the Economist in New York, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright explained that banning the export of diesel fuel will do nothing to impact the price of diesel fuel and would, eventually, raise the price.

The reasoning is simple.

“The blunt tool of banning diesel exports definitely doesn’t work,”Wright said.“If you can’t ⁠export the diesel that comes out of our refineries, you run out of places to store it, and you have to reduce US refining, which would put upward pressure on gasoline prices and jet fuel prices,” Wright said.

The part that Wright didn’t say is the component of price that is entirely detached from supply/demand. The pump price is determined by market speculators, commodity traders and multinational financial interests. That “market price” has nothing to do with the amount of diesel in the inventory.

Restricting exports, a process that ends with restricting production, only gives the speculators and traders a justification to project higher prices. The USA ends up swimming in diesel fuel as the pump price climbs to $15/gal.

If you want to end the disconnection of supply to price, you have to do what Russia does. Sell outside the “market price” at the production cost + profit margin.

In the “west” it’s a rigged game; but be careful. The DSA crowd wants to change the game’s outcome by changing the referees who can then ban/control the players.

Trump’s MAGAnomic approach changes the rulebook of the game completely and is more in line with Putin (BRICS).

Grassley Responds to GOP Senator John Curtis’s Request to Subpoena Don Jr.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley responded to Senator John Curtis’s request to subpoena Don. Jr.

GOP Senator John Curtis (UT) is targeting Don Jr. after Propublica reported that a Russian Oligarch close to Putin ‘funded’ the First Son’s wedding.

Curtis also asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena Hunter Biden over his business dealings with Ukraine and China.

Propublica reported that Don Jr.’s wedding to Bettina Anderson “was heavily funded by a secret benefactor: Umar Kremlev, a Russian oligarch close to President Vladimir Putin.”

In a letter to Chuck Grassley, John Curtis asked the Committee to subpoena Don Jr.

“A toaster is a wedding gift. A private-island party paid for by a Putin-connected oligarch is something else.Republicans nearly wore out the subpoena machine investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign relationships. We should not unplug it now. ‘Trust us’ was not enough then, and it is not enough now.

“Americans deserve confidence that public institutions serve them — not presidents, political parties, wealthy interests, or members of powerful families,” Curtis continued. “Congress has an obligation to pursue credible concerns wherever they lead and without regard to party.”

Grassley did not say whether he would subpoena Don Jr. but suggested he is open to calling him in to testify.

“I think the fact is that it takes time, and if you were going to ask me when you’re going to have a hearing, there’s no way I could answer that today,” Grassley said to Punchbowl News.

Grassley added: “I’m going to take his request seriously and sit down with staff and see what we can do.”
