Anthony Albanese will say in New York that the post-1945 “world order is no longer fit for purpose”.
Anthony Albanese will deliver remarks in New York on Monday where he will say the post Second World War world order, which has prevents another outbreak of global war is “no longer fit for purpose”.
He will also say that the US is the “anchor” of Australian foreign policy, that Australia can “disagree where we must” with China and its future should not be defined by either.
The PM will make the comments when he picks up the Global Citizen Award from the Atlantic Council on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Mr Albanese has tried to bat away accusations that he was a “fraud” picking up the award while his popularity was sinking in Australia.
