Israeli forces have demolished dozens of buildings in the Palestinian village of Jinba in the occupied West Bank, leaving around 180 people homeless, including 85 children, RT correspondent Charlotte Dubenskij has reported. Visiting the community after the operation, she found families gathering belongings among the rubble.

Israeli military and police accompanied by heavy machinery entered Jinba on Wednesday and destroyed 24 homes, as well as agricultural structures, solar panels, and water tanks. It was the third large-scale demolition in the Masafer Yatta area in three weeks.

”When they came back, they said, ‘Where is our house?’ Then the crying and screaming started,” one resident told RT, recalling the reaction of children returning after the demolition. “The house itself does not break me. I built it. They demolish it. And we rebuild it.”

“What breaks my heart is a little child who stayed in the Sun all day,” he added, saying his two-month-old granddaughter had been left without shelter.

B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group that monitors Israel’s policies in the Palestinian territories, has accused Israel of systematically dismantling Palestinian communities in the area. “This is ethnic cleansing in broad daylight,” the group said, adding that the international community “knows exactly what is happening, yet continues to allow it.” B’Tselem has documented the destruction of other homes and infrastructure across Masafer Yatta this month.

Jinba lies inside Firing Zone 918, an area Israel designated for military training in the 1980s. Israel’s High Court ruled in 2022 that residents had failed to prove permanent residence there before the firing zone was established, clearing the way for demolitions.

In other parts of the West Bank, Israeli military bulldozers have also uprooted Palestinian olive trees days before the annual harvest. “They left us with nothing,” a farmer in Deir Nizam near Ramallah told Reuters on Wednesday after trees on his land were torn from the ground.

Addressing the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II accused Israel of pursuing a broader policy of displacement in the West Bank. “What is unfolding across the West Bank is not a series of isolated acts,” he said. “There is a name for that: forced displacement. And that is a war crime.”

Israel has rejected accusations over its conduct and launched a campaign accusing the UN and its critics of repeatedly spreading false claims about the country. However, across the Palestinian territories, communities are being squeezed until they have little choice but to pack up and leave, Dubenskij says.

Not only are the paths of transmission similar, many of the symptoms are so similar that they can be difficult at times to tell one from the other.

White House Restores Access For Banned Media Outlets After Judge's Ruling

Update (1230ET): Following US District Judge Timothy J. Kelly's earlier decision, the Trump administration said in a legal filing that it has restored access for now to three media outlets the president had banned from White House grounds last week.

An OpenAI artificial intelligence agent “infiltrated” an Australian government health portal in what is believed to be the world’s first publicly reported AI-led hack of a state website. The IT giant kept the breach quiet for nearly three months after its agent accessed restricted files, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has claimed.

An AI agent is a software system that can independently carry out tasks on a user’s behalf, making decisions and taking actions with limited human supervision.

The OpenAI agent hacked the public-facing Medicare Statistics Reporting Service portal on June 18 while researching Australian spending on medicines, Albanese said. The portal, widely used by researchers and academics, hosts aggregate data on health spending and government drug subsidies.

The prime minister disclosed the breach in New York on Wednesday after a telephone conversation with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Both are attending the UN General Assembly, where Albanese said he had a “very frank discussion” with the tech executive over the company taking “too long” to report the breach.

The agent repeatedly tried to obtain information from the portal and, after being blocked, found ways around the restrictions. It ultimately accessed restricted files, but officials said there is no evidence that personal Medicare records were compromised.

“The AI agent found a way around those blocks. Didn’t accept no for an answer, if you like,” the Australian prime minister told reporters.

OpenAI, however, did not tell the Australian government about the breach for nearly three months. The company claimed it became aware of the incident only in August during an ongoing review of “misaligned model activity” and eventually notified Australian officials on September 10. The portal has since been shut down and its data moved to more secure systems.

Albanese said he had expressed “Australia’s extreme concern about this incident” and warned there would “obviously be legal consequences.” Altman acknowledged there were “issues with protocols” at OpenAI, according to the prime minister.

A “forensic investigation” led by the Australian Signals Directorate will examine whether OpenAI could face criminal charges, whether other government systems were affected, and why Australian security agencies failed to detect the intrusion. Albanese suggested the agent may have been examining Medicare spending for “commercial reasons,” including expenditure on particular medicines.

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles said it was the first known case of an AI agent gaining unauthorized access to Australian government IT systems.

This is not the first time OpenAI has been accused of covering up rogue agent activity. The company reportedly kept unauthorized activity quiet for months after its agents bypassed restrictions and used more than ten previously undisclosed websites to communicate. On Germany’s DseWiki alone, they made over 15,000 edits and exchanged tactics for evading safeguards and detection.

In a more serious breach in July, OpenAI agents circumvented safeguards during cybersecurity testing, reached the open internet and gained unauthorized access to systems belonging to Hugging Face, a major AI platform. The incident showed that rogue agent behavior could spill beyond controlled tests and compromise real-world systems. OpenAI acknowledged the breach, calling it a “warning shot” over the risks posed by increasingly autonomous AI.

In 77 constituencies that YouGov currently assigns to another party, Restore Britain’s projected vote is at least as large as Reform’s deficit to the projected winner.That does not mean all Restore voters would automatically vote Reform if Restore disappeared. They would not. But the scale of the overlap is striking, especially when Restore Britain voters appears to want change, rather than to hand more victories to the incumbent Labour Party, the centre-left “Conservative” Party, or any others.The National Pulse analyzed the constituencies contained in the MRP dataset and calculated, seat by seat, how much of Restore’s projected vote Reform would need to erase its deficit to YouGov’s projected winner.The result is not confined to seats where Reform would require every single Restore voter.Under a hypothetical 25 percent Restore-to-Reform transfer, Reform moves ahead in 19 seats and level on the published rounded figures in another seven: 26 constituencies in total.At a 50 percent transfer, that rises to 46 seats, and at 75 percent, it becomes 58 parliamentary seats. If the entire Restore vote were added to Reform, Reform would move outright ahead in 58 seats, while another 19 would become tied on the rounded constituency figures.Those figures make the possible effects of right-of-Reform vote fragmentation substantially larger than a handful of isolated constituencies.

It Doesn’t Take Anything Close to 100 Percent in Some Seats.

The most revealing constituencies are not those requiring the whole Restore vote. They are the seats where Reform is behind by only a point or two, while Restore is polling several times that amount. For instance, there are four constituencies where Reform needs only 20 percent of Restore’s projected support to erase the deficit.In Heywood and Middleton North, YouGov has Labour on 31 percent, Reform on 30, and Restore on 5. Reform needs just one point out of Restore’s five to draw level. Similarly, in Llanelli, Plaid Cymru is projected on 34 percent, Reform on 33, and Restore on 5. Again, only 20 percent of the Restore vote closes the gap.In Ossett and Denby Dale, Labour is on 28, Reform 27, and Restore 5: another 20 percent threshold.And in Washington and Gateshead South, Labour is projected at 35, Reform at 34, and Restore at 5. Once again, just one-fifth of Restore’s projected support equals Reform’s entire deficit.Seven more positive-gap constituencies require only 25 percent of Restore’s projected vote to erase Reform’s deficit:

Eight sailors assigned to US carrier group that fought in Iran war attempted suicide, Navy secretary tells Congress

Eight US Navy personnel assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group attempted suicide during a period that included when the ships undertook combat operations against Iran and the carrier set a modern record for its time at sea, according to a letter from the service’s acting secretary, which was obtained by CNN.

Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao revealed the number, which has not been previously reported and covers crew members from several ships that travel together, including the carrier, in written responses to questions posed by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand about the morale and mental health of the USS Abraham Lincoln’s crew. Cao wrote that no service members had killed themselves during the deployment.

The rate of suicide attempts among the Lincoln strike group’s sailors was roughly consistent with that of the entire active duty Navy in 2024, the most recent year for which the Pentagon has released suicide data. That year, the Navy saw 356 suicide attempts among its estimated 337,000 active duty sailors.

“Since the beginning of Lincoln’s deployment, there have been a total of eight suicide attempts across the strike group,” Cao wrote to Gillibrand, a Democrat and member of the Senate Armed Services, in a letter dated Tuesday. “This number includes the Lincoln crew and sailors from the carrier airwing, strike group and destroyer squadron staff, escorting destroyers and all embarked aviation squadrons.”

Between 6,000 and 7,000 US Navy sailors were deployed as part of the Lincoln strike group across roughly a half dozen ships — with the carrier kept out of port for over six months while conducting a high rate of combat operations against Iran.

“Eight attempted suicides is incredibly high,” one US military official told CNN, noting recent carrier strike group deployments have had one or two per year. “The strain of combat ops is much higher than normal deployments. No port calls, constant alerts, etc.”

The Navy did not respond ahead of publication to a request for comment about the letter.

The Lincoln deployed with various mental health resources onboard, including five chaplains, one embedded integrated prevention counselor, one psychologist, one clinical social worker, three behavioral health technicians and one expeditionary facility dog, according to Cao’s letter.

CNN previously reported that two sailors assigned to the Lincoln strike group, one from the carrier and one from another ship, had jumped overboard in recent months. Both were rescued, US officials said. Others were prevented from jumping, according to reports from the Navy Times and Stars and Stripes.

In his letter to Gillibrand, Cao also confirmed that a sailor assigned to the airwing went overboard from the ship in early August but was “quickly recovered” and treated by the Lincoln’s medical department. “Additionally, one sailor attempted to go overboard in March and was stopped by his shipmates. That sailor was also provided immediate medical care and subsequently returned to homeport.”

The Navy previously said in a statement to CNN, “We have not observed an increase in suicidal ideations or attempts aboard the ship. We take every service member’s well-being seriously and have religious, medical and mental health professionals available to assess and address concerns as they arise.”

A US official also previously told CNN that the Navy does not believe there is a correlation between deployment length and thoughts of self-harm, and that man overboard incidents are not unique to this group.

A crew member serving on the Lincoln previously described to CNN that morale on the carrier was very low and said they had heard repeatedly about suicidal ideation by fellow crew members. And there were regular strains on essential amenities — toilets and water fountains around the ship frequently closed, and hot water was often unavailable, the crew member said.

“Everyday we wake up and listen to our captain speak, we are desperately hoping and anxious for updates on our return,” the crew member, speaking before the ship had been ordered to return to its home port in San Diego, told CNN. The ship left the Middle East in August and is expected back in San Diego in the coming weeks.

Other sailors aboard the Lincoln who spoke with CNN described conditions unlike their prior deployments, largely due to the combat that has kept the carrier from making stops at friendly ports. Ships can take on new supplies and allow their sailors to rest and relax during those port calls.

Israel Sabotaged Russian-Sanctioned Turkish S-400 Sale To UAE

Israeli pressure on the United Arab Emirates stalled a planned sale of Türkiye’s Russian-made S-400 long-range air defense systems to Abu Dhabi, Turkish news outlet Haber7 reported on September 24.

Haber7 columnist Mehmet Acet reported, citing a source familiar with the matter, that Türkiye had reached common ground with Russia over the transfer and had also reached an understanding with the UAE, but that the deal failed to move forward after Israel urged the Emirati leadership not to purchase the systems.

In late 2017, Türkiye and Russia signed a $2.5 billion S-400 deal. The United States strongly objected, but Türkiye pushed back, arguing that Washington had refused to sell it the upgraded MIM-104 Patriot long-range air defense system despite its status as a key NATO ally.

Türkiye received its first S-400 delivery in mid-2019. Just days later, the U.S. suspended Türkiye from the F-35 Lightning II program, explaining that the stealth fighter jet “cannot coexist with a Russian intelligence collection platform that will be used to learn about its advanced capabilities.”

Later that year, Washington went further, imposing CAATSA sanctions on Türkiye. By 2020, Türkiye had taken delivery of four S-400 batteries, totaling 36 fire units and at least 192 missiles.

The latest report revealed Israel’s opposition was linked to concerns that resolving the S-400 dispute could clear the way for Türkiye to have U.S. sanctions lifted and regain access to the F-35 program.

Acet said Israel did not want that outcome and had used its influence in the UAE to prevent the purchase from being finalized.

According to Haber7, the delay was not caused by Russia. Acet said Ankara and Moscow had reached a common position during negotiations, leaving the proposed UAE purchase as the remaining obstacle to completing the transfer.

The report follows a July 10 claim by Turkish journalist Abdülkadir Selvi that Türkiye had sold its S-400 systems to a Gulf country. Subsequent reports identified the UAE as the prospective buyer, but Haber7 said no further announcement had confirmed that the transaction had been completed.

Haber7 cited U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack as saying that discussions on lifting the CAATSA sanctions and resolving the S-400 issue were still continuing.

According to the report, Ankara has developed another formula intended to overcome the deadlock after the UAE did not finalize the purchase. Acet said the new approach could allow Türkiye to resolve the S-400 issue despite the reported Israeli opposition.

The effort could become part of a broader discussion between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump, who were expected to meet in New York. Acet said the meeting could provide an opportunity to reach a final arrangement on the S-400s and the CAATSA sanctions.

Trump had said in July that Washington was prepared to lift the sanctions on Türkiye, telling reporters that it was time to remove them and that the U.S. did not want to sanction its allies.

The author of the op-ed is very credible. Irvin Studin is the president of The Institute for 21st Century Questions and editor-in-chief of Global Brief magazine. He was nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the pandemic-era education catastrophe. This is a man with institutional standing writing in a mass-market daily, and he is saying out loud what the Canadian establishment has spent five years insisting is a conspiracy theory.
